Some pickups from Phoenix. The Sea is Matt's.

I didn't find much that I was interested in, so this is a lame post compared to my normal GP pickups.

    The workshop completes my set.

What it takes to be a pimp:
    1. Knowing the right people.
    2. Have the money
Not one or the other, but both.

While not nearly as pimp as some others, I realized while playing in Milwaukee that I had about 1/2 my deck either foiled or signed, so I thought I'd post it here. The stuff in the front left is foil, middle left is signed. Everything else is vanilla.

The basic lands are foil MPS lands. Plains is Time Spiral, Island is Zendikar, Swamp is Lorwyn. I might switch them all to Time Spiral though, because it kinda sucks to have 2 with mana symbols and one with big honking "MPS" in the text box. The ones I'm currently using have the artwork I like best from the MPS sets. Well, maybe not the Plains. I think it's very unique looking, so I stick with that one.

The SoFF is from the sideboard.

Re: [DO NOT TRY TO SELL IN HERE] Pimp Legacy Decks

Since I'm nearing the end of my playset project, and since I have a really good memory, I'm going to share this 3.5 year journey with you guys and how much I spent and from where.

I've gotten duals from 5 minutes away to 5,000 miles away, spanning from 2007 to 2014, but really only started hard in 2010.

    The list is as follows:

    Badlands - Simone, Italy, 220 - 2011
    Badlands - Jordan, Vancouver, 200 - 2010
    Badlands - Scott, USA, 240 - 2011
    Badlands - Eli, USA, 300 - 2011
    Bayou - Scott, USA, 240 - 2011
    Bayou - Adrian, Surrey, 200 (inked) - 2010
    Bayou - Adrian, Surrey, 220 - 2010
Bayou - Anssi, Finland, 300 (Anssi usually let me pay on layaway, same with Jose and Scott) - 2010
    Plateau - Wil, Surrey, 230 - 2012
    Plateau - Ebay, USA, 400 BGS 8.5 - 2012
    Plateau - Simone, Italy, 275 - 2011
    Plateau - Mital, USA, 300 - 2012
    Savannah - Jordan, Vancouver, 80 Alpha - 2006
    Savannah - Charles, USA, 500 - 2013
Savannah - Random trader at GP Denver, USA, 400 - 2013
    Savannah - Anssi, Finland, 320 - 2012
    Scrubland - James Lee, Vancouver, 100 -2007
    Scrubland - Ebay, USA, 240 - 2011
    Scrubland - Ebay, USA, 220 - 2010
    Scrubland - Eli, USA, Trade at 240 - 2011
    Taiga - Ebay, USA, 300 Alpha - 2012
    Taiga - Anssi, Finland, 300 NM - 2011
    Taiga - Justin, USA, 475 - 2014
    Taiga - Scott, USA, 375 - 2013
    Tropical Island - Matt W, USA, 600 NM/M - 2011
    Tropical Island - Harry, Vancouver, HP- - 400 - 2014
    Tropical Island - Scott, USA, 700 - 2013
    Tropical Island - Eddy, Seattle, 600 - 2013
    Tundra - Eddy, Seattle, 600 - 2013
    Tundra - Eddy, Seattle, 750 - 2012
Tundra - MOTL user, USA, 450 - 2011 in trade
Tundra - MOTL user, USA, 450 - Same guy, 2011 in trade
    Underground Sea - Anssi, Finland, 770 - 2011
    Underground Sea - Mark, Kamloops, 1100 - 2013
Underground Sea - Travis, GP Phoenix, - 2014
    Underground Sea -
    Volcanic Island - Anssi, Finland, 500 - 2012
    Volcanic Island - Anssi, Finland, 450 - 2011
    Volcanic Island - Jose, Portugal, 800 - 2013
    Volcanic Island - Jose, Portugal, 700 - 2013

Cards I did own but traded away:

    Plateau (to Italy)
    Savannah (to England)
    Tropical Island (to USA)
    Volcanic Island (to Canada)
Scrublands (owned 8 total at one point...) - To USA

And I lost one Beta Taiga.
Kind of sad it's all coming to an end. This is not a "look at how much I spent," but more of a historic musing over how prices have changed.

Can you post up a pic to show us what $180 could once buy?

The scrubland in this picture, NM/NM+ condition:

And this Savannah - definitely Fine condition, but no creases.

This set was a lot harder to put together than I thought it would be. I got 3 about 2 years ago, had one lost in the mail from ebay, and I finally tracked down another to complete the set.

What to make of this? The year says 2003, but IE is from 1993...Do Beckett make mistakes like this?

Not super nice quality but still puts me two closer to a set of power. Missing the lotus, jet, pearl and twister.

Hate you right now. If I did this, I'd look insane. However, I'm probably going to complete my set in 1.5 years, compared to your long term 4+. If you want that 4th sea, let me know ;)

Not much of an delicate pimper like you others around here, still decided to post some pictures of my UR Dreadstill.

I am currently missing Stifle's, Brainstorm & Misdirection and Lightning bolt (JR) Foils and the way prices have been going, I am sad that it will probably be left that way. EE's have been coming in post and 2/3 of Pithing Needle's have not yet arrived neither. 3 Grim Lavamancers are still on their way too.

Well yeah, nothing too impressive, but I like the deck, should probably change inner sleeves on Brainstorms, Fow's & Stifles, they look filthy!

    Cheers,
    Jani

Stack of German blue fetches came in. I'm pretty excited, since Miracles is *essentially* done now! I'll post pics later tonight.

I'm just trying to find a Sea in nice enough condition for the right price. There's one I know I can get, but the condition is too played.

    It'll be quite soon :)

I'm pretty close to my own money shot too, but I think you'll beat me there (your duals vs my deck). :)

ANyway, these are island/swamp combinations I was considering before deciding I had better. The foil miscuts are a repost, just a better scan. Any love for these?

Guru island has an inverted symbol. Don't think the swamp exists.

There's been some awesome stuff on this page. Occam, love those miscuts!

I finally got the rest of my stuff from SCG. All I can say is, definitely take credit over cash. With this pile, I have $100 in credit left:

My first pieces of power! I'm pumped. Close-up of it and the Alpha Sea I posted last page:

Also, with these duals and a deal I just finalized, I have my 40! I have at least one FBB of each.

Nedleeds, I think I may never give up that Scrubland.

I still have a bit of work to do, but this is my current main deck. No, I don't own a foil Ponder.
