I can't stop laughing at this, telling the guy who has everything you could every want to play magic with, all black bordered, foreign, and signed that he cant "afford" a Jap Foil Fetch. I am 99.9% sure that Russian > Jap in terms of being able to find and overall aesthetics.

Euro lands. I use the red pack for everything but the Swamp; the Swamp I like comes from the blue pack.

I'm of the same opinion on English promo lands, but I'm partial to the older textbox design - leading me to the APAC lands, which are a great alternative to the Euros depending on your preference.

Blue for the Island, Swamp, and Plains.
Clear for the Mountain and Forest.

All of the Plains are fantastic though, that's a tough choice.

Lol. Or you can ignore me instead of crying. Foils aren't magic cards, I could buy all the weebo fetches I want but would have no use for warped marked garbage. At least foil German, or foil Russian here in the US is slightly original, jap foil is pretty trite.

My preference is non foil, black border English, earliest edition. Looks good, new folks can read it, no issues with warping. Sadly those duals are beyond my reach, but it is what it is. Love to see it here.

I am looking for non summer, non guru basics though. Tired of full art. Any suggestions on a basic by basic basis?

I'm using portal 1 basics for all of my decks. I agree with APAC lands too. I just went with what I liked and could get the most of at one time.

If I wanted to circlejerk about foil Japanese I'd play standard. I don't hate new cards (love some new art) but old cards are sexy as fuck.

And yeah, expense=\=artistic merit. I could buy a custom knife with Moku Ti handles, a raindrop Damascus blade, and zirconium hardware, but that doesnt mean it looks like something more than pocket jewelry.

I don't think German or Russian commons are pimp, but I never said that players that spend hours searching for these cards is a waste of time.
