They are getting popular, and expensive.
I am going to a gpt on October 25th and I want to play B/g pox with Loam. Is anybody tinkering with this lately? I have all of the neccessary cards to make the deck with only a few exceptions (no sinkhole, 3x wasteland instead of 4). I also have a decent budget available to me, so please, suggest without regards to cost.
Thanks!

At a SCG Open I saw this one guy who I assumed was playing Pox had this merciless board state.
Trinisphere
Urborg
Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
Two Ensnaring Bridges
I think he had a Chalice on 1
Chains of Mephistopheles
And a Liliana of the Veil
Poor elves guy had no chance. The guy just accelerated into everything with ritual effects. Are cards like Nether Void/The Abyss needed to more controlling versions of Pox or is the Chains good enough?
Creatures (1)
1 Nether Spirit
Spells (20)
1 Maelstrom Pulse
3 Thoughseize
4 Innocent Blood
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
4 Smallpox
4 Abrupt Decay
Other (13)
1 Pernicious Deed
2 Sensei's Divining Top
3 Life from the Loam
3 Cursed Scroll
4 Liliana of the Veil
Manasources (26)
1 Forest
1 Bloodstained Mirre
2 Barren Moor
3 Swamp
3 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Mishra's Factory
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Wasteland
4 Bayou
If I'm in the mood for some Bg Pox, I start with a rough list like this and then shave a bit. You could use Ghost Quarter as the 4th Wasteland. Pernicious Deed is a bit of a rogue card, and some people drop Cursed Scroll in favor of Bloodghast. Also, the discard-package can be a bit different, depending on your own taste: Hymn to Tourach over Thoughseize, for instance. I love Innocent Blood (creature-beatdown is the most common based strategy!), but you can trim those as well.
Most of the time, if one plays the more controlling Pox-builds, Nether Void is run in the main, while The Abyss and Chains of Mephistopheles being SB-cards. You just side according to the MU. To be honest, I only have two Nether Void, and never played with the others...
Here is where I will start:
1x Gigapede (instead of Nether Spirit, because of Deathrite)
4x Deathrite Shaman
4x Smallpox
4x Life from the Loam
4x Abrupt Decay
1x Pernicious Deed
2x Maelstrom Pulse
4x Inquisition of Kozilek
2x Thoughtseize
2x Hymn to Tourach
3x Liliana of the Veil
1x Sylvan Library (don't have Tops)
3x Innocent Blood
3x Wasteland
4x Verdant Catacombs
1x Marsh Flats
1x Misty Rainforest
1x Bayou
1x Overgrown Tomb
2x urborg, tomb of yawgmoth
2x barren moor
2x tranquil thicket
1x twilight mire
3x swamp
1x forest
3x treetop village
Sideboard
2x Thoughtseize
1x Surgical Extraction
2x Golgari Charm
4x grave hate
5x open
I should mention that I haven't played Legacy, except casually, for quite some time (about a year.) I keep tabs on the top decks here and I think this deck could be pretty decent against a mix of top decks/fringe (which is what i expect.) My sideboard needs attention badly, it's just a rough shot. The deck seems rough as well, but I think I can get away with the setup I have without hurting performance too badly. I can't afford the 4th Wasteland or additional Bayous, but I may be able to borrow some (maybe...) If I can then the budget lands go out and they go in.
I'm looking to have fun slinging Loam, Wastelands, and cycle lands. I am also looking or a little surprise factor by playing a non-blue, non-tier 1 deck.

Gigapede and treetop cost too much mana to be playable.
You should seriously consider running Marit Lage + Thespian Stage as win conditions.
Thank you for that.
Can this deck really handle factory/waste with two colors?

Wasteland is a spell, not a land. Mishras are beatdown. I would say it therefore depends on what other lands you play, and how many. Also remember you run four DRS, and Urborg!
I would cut some of the loams, and the Cycling lands (Sylvan library and fetchlands are far better.)
You can do fun things with loam, but beware that you don't end up just durdling while the opponent just kills you.
I should add that if you go for Marit Lage combo you should cut the mishras and add crop rotation.

@ mr. Safety; If going for the Lage-ending, I would suggest looking at the deck Beez is playing. It's a couple of pages back. It basically tries to softlock your opponent out with Chalice and getting Marit Lage with Living Wish. Or, if taking my example list: -1 Deed, -3 Scroll, -4 Factory, +4 Rotation, +2 DD, +2 Stage (or something like that)
Not going for depths/stage, my budget isn't THAT good. Still going for factories, and deathrite adds a scroll-like pressure.
What would a good sideboard look like?
Starting point:
1x bojuka bog
1x tormod's crypt
1x surgical extraction
2x hymn to tourach (zero main)
3x golgari charm
2x pithing needle
5x open
I need something for burn and I'm not sure what else. Golgari charm seems good against d&t and true name nemesis, and for random enchants.

Play with tabernacles and Nether Void.
Sideboard:
4x pithing needle
2-3x massacre
4x leyline of the void
2x chains of meph
1x the abyss
2x Duress
2x pithing needle
2x massacre
2x golgari charn
1x bojuka bog
2x tormods crypt
1x surgical extraction
2x hymn to tourach
3x sun droplet
Thoughts?

Why not Toxic Deluge as an catch all answer instead of massacre?
Pithing Needle is good (against Jace, Sneak Attack etc).
Here 's the list I' d test with:
4 Liliana
4 Dark Rit
4 IoK
4 Hymn to Tourach
1 Thoughtseize
3 SDT
4 Smallpox
2 Cursed Scroll
3 Innocent Blood
2 Empty the Pits (!)
3 Waste Not
2 Toxic Deluge
7 Fetchlands
3 Urborg
4 Factory
4 Wasteland
6 Swamp
SB:
3 Culling Scales
3 Null Rod
1 Toxic Deluge
3 Pithing Needle
2 Extirpate
3 Nihil Spellbomb
What I'm really interested in is the performance of Empty the Pits, Waste Not and Toxic Deluge in this deck.
Any experiences?
Massacre was suggested bt another post, and I like it for two reasons:
1) in a deck that deals damage to itself (thoughtseize, smallpox) I think paying life for wiping seems a little greedy.
2) Massacre is free against the matchups you want it against (maverick, d&t) thalia taxes it up to one mana, which is still cheaper than three mana and life points.

This deck is not competitive. Opponents top decking Treasure Cruise makes our previously good matchups bad.
I disagree. Perhaps harder MU, yes, but Prison Pox could stand a chance. I mean three cards is good, but no way casting them (if everything is going according as planned) is bad. Also, without a lockpiece EVERY topdeck is potentially bad for Pox. Besides, if the format is going to revolve around TC, it will get the axe.
The odds are decent that TC just get discarded. It is also a crappy card to get in your starting hand.
Let's all post actual tournament results, good luck.
