i've reverted back to my old "reid duke" list running NoSB and and a singleton engineered plague in the main..i think most U/R delver decks' current list today run Monastery Swiftspear, Young Pyromancer and Delver of Secrets..If you can resolve a plague naming human/humans, i think its almost lights out for them..you just need to watch out for the bolts, chain lightnings and price of progress(if they're maindecking it)..that's where the spinning darkness comes in to buy us a turn or two until our wincons bring them down..
To anyone playing the Living Wish version, what do you think of Necroplasm as a wish fetchable mass removal? First turn you have him out he kills all YP tokens
Don t forget flipped delver ahah
ha ha ha..you're right..so if you are lucky enough to somehow manage to have both NoSB and engineered plague in play and a few spinning darkness in hand, chances are you'll win..but that seems a wee bit situational..
well, U/R is a tier1 deck..it doesn't just auto lose to any deck..but i think our deck has a good shot at beating it..smallpox just hurts them so much..
Reid Duke is my inspiration as well for this deck. I use his prior decks as a 'baseline' and put in what I like that hasn't failed me yet.
Win Cons: 8
2 Nether Spirit
2 Cursed Scroll
4 Mishra's Factory
Poxing: 9
4 Innocent Blood
4 Smallpox
1 Pox
Planeswalkers: 4
4 Liliana of the Veil
Bombs: 3
1 Night of Souls' Betrayal
1 Engineered Plague
1 Trinisphere (to be replaced by Nether Void)
Staples (these are NON-NEGOTIABLE! :)): 16
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Sinkhole
4 Dark Ritual
Land : 20
12 Swamp
4 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Wasteland
Sideboard:
3 Engineered Plague; 3 Ensnaring Bridge -> Aggro or Combo-based aggro
4 Leyline of the Void; 1 Extirpate -> Graveyard. The 1 of is to remove their enchantment hate after they kill the 1st one
2 Pithing Needle; 2 Plague Boiler -> The hate that cannot be pithing! When snarky players pithing needled my Ratchet Bomb, I was very sad. Now their needles are useless against my hatin'! It's like Pernicious Deed without X. Also, hitting a single CMC type on the field left me hanging most of the time. KILL ALL!

Three Lilianas to rule them all. One Pox to find them. Smallpox to bring them all and in the Sinkhole bind them!
Another reason to mainboard a darkblast, the dreaded yp army.

I close my eyes and sink within myself, relive the gift of precious memories, in need of a fix called innocence. - Chuck Shuldiner
Wouldn't this deck be a lot better with like 2-3 Tabernacle main?
If you're going that route, I'd recommend 1 Crucible of Worlds. When you start focusing on land, your own Poxes start to hurt. I used to run Cabal Pit and 1 Ghost Quarter way back when...Suddenly your lands are damaging [mishra], killing [cabal pit], LD [Waste/Quarter], and anti-GY Bokuja Bog.
Old school build, but still effective in a less aggro meta.

I might be a little worried about overrelying your wishboard a bit. I mean, I hope it works to have such extensive silver bullet options, if so maybe I'll change my approach too, but Living Wish can be slow and its two turns to play something from it and two chances to have a non-land card countered. I like things like the reclaimation Sage idea, but just boarding in Krosan Grip is more fool proof against Miracles and the like. Most times when I have a Wish, I just combo out when ready, but I do like options. If you are sucessful fighting Dredge and Reanimator by Wishing for ScOoze and Bog that would be great. I would gladly trade out my Leylines of the Void for that, but I wonder if it would be too slow. Ive been thinking of Necroplasm to Wish for against a full Pyro board, but have similar concerns about that type of approach.
Yeah I think I do need some straightforward sideboard cards in the board too. Some games I wanted to take out a lot of removal (vs ANT) and barely had anything decent to side in.
Went 2-2
Round 1 ANT 0-2
G1 He fought through a T1 Chains to storm off anyway
G2: He went off before I could stop him
Round 2 High Tide 2-0
G1 I had T1 Hymn and T2 sinkhole to get me enough time to get Marit Laige out.
G2: Chalice on 1 on T2
Round 3: Sneak & Show 1-2
G1. He show and telled in a Grisel, and I put in an Abyss. But when Grisel Died, he drew enough gas to sneak in Emakrul next turn.
G2. Kept him to 1 land and had chalice on 0 for petals, I won eventually
G3. Kept his land low, but he eventually got a show and tell into Emakrul
Round 4: Mana Dredge 2-1
G1: Living wish Bojuka bog
G2: he went off on T2, couldn't do anything to stop it
G3: T1 Scavening ooze, living wish Bojuka bog
Overall the deck is still a bit clunky, I definitely need to adjust the sideboard.
Too much of the green stuff, too little of the black.
Instead of trying to maximise the green spells try go the other way and see how few you need to make the deck work.
