DTT over the third Jace? Just never...

Philipp, when you're done with the GP do you mind sharing your list?

I know you will anyway :D

    Re: [DTB] Miracle Control

5-2-1 with Ponder Miracles. Deck felt great all day. Drew with infect because I never found a win-con but had him in a top-lock, and lost to Zoo because Null Rod is a good card, and lost to UWR delver because it was 10pm, he had everything, and I'm pretty sure I played like utter crap.

1-2 Drop in the Sunday Super Challenge. Beat punishing Jund 2-0 round 1, then lost to elves 1-2 (Null Rod into surgical extraction is a good way to disrupt terminus...) and lost to Chi Hoi Yim in the mirror in 3 games, where I boarded very poorly, not taking into account cards I had seen in game 2.

All in all, I'm happy with my performance this weekend.
They banned Top, so now I play Grixis Delver.

Damn he's 13-1, watching him on stream was very impressive.

Congratulations! Can't wait to see you on the PT. Hopefully I'll see you at the PT, but that's unlikely for me.

Guys I'm watching this on SCGLive, but I'm not happy with the quality of the videos and of the matches itselves.

Can I choose which match to see? And how?

Overall, can I download a full show of the GP? Because the streaming and the live show doesn't suit me at all.

    THanks

You can currently look at the day 1 matches in the 'past broadcasts' section on the SCGLive Twitch page. Wait until the GP is over for day 2 stuff. The seperate matches might also be posted on the YouTube page of either Wizards or SCG, but I'm not certain about that.

Also, this really isn't the correct place to ask this.

    Go Miracles!

    Thank you Nihilis

too bad Philipp! With Tsabo's Web you would have won.

Those lands were a nightmare.. you could get rid of everything else

Also because those lands couldn't have been blocked by nothing but Angels and overall there was no way to remove them by Jace and also Terminus wasn't very effective because he would have just activated them one alone...

Tsabo's Web = GG against Infect.

BDD will win easily the final.. he has Young Pyromancer

    Re: [DTB] Miracle Control

JITTEEEE still the best equipment ever. Don't like Infect at all. It can just blitz-win, I wonder how it could ever reach the finals..

Pithing Needle / Tsabo's Web / Burn decks

Didn't Tom find any of these in 15 matches?..

Infect can win the way any other offbeat list piloted by a very good player can win: he knows what it does and how it plays and what all the pitfalls and inflection points are and 90% of his opponents have never faced it before and are just waddling across the tracks in front of an onrushing freight train.

that's the exact definition of blitz-win...

only the surprise effect, imho, can lead to this result. Good for him. Now brainless players will start to copy him, people will be prepared and that's the last time we see Infect in top 8 at a GP

Congratulations on 4th place at GP New Jersey Mr. Schonegger! Please write more articles for EC and continue to advocate Legacy. You're an asset to the community and the "offline" eternal community especially.

SCG often has somebody playing an offbeat list that has a very good game against an unprepared field. For awhile it was Lands back in 2010. Then Lands become popular and they switched to something else. Next GP they will have a pro playing something else powerful but offbeat. They like seeing their chosen at the end.

    Re: [DTB] Miracle Control

I finished 10-3-2 at GP NJ, good enough for 200$. I met the Austrian miracle players, got my miracle cards Miracle-Tek Approved and overall had a great time.

    This was my list:
    2 Arid Mesa
    4 Flooded Strand
    4 Island
    1 Mountain
    2 Plains
    4 Scalding Tarn
    3 Tundra
    1 Volcanic Island
    4 Brainstorm
    4 Ponder
    2 Pyroblast
    4 Sensei's Divining Top
    4 Swords to Plowshares
    4 Counterbalance
    1 Counterspell
    3 Snapcaster Mage
    2 Entreat the Angels
    2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
    4 Force of Will
    4 Terminus
    1 Dig Through Time

    Sideboard:
    1 Engineered Explosives
    1 Blue Elemental Blast
    2 Flusterstorm
    2 Red Elemental Blast
    1 Wear // Tear
    2 Containment Priest
    1 Pyroclasm
    2 Stoneforge Mystic
    1 Council's Judgment
    2 Vendilion Clique
    1 Batterskull

Matchups (I dont remember the exact order or if games were 2-0 or 2-1 or whatever):
    2 Byes
    UWr Legend Miracles - Win
UW(NO RED!) Helm Miracles - Win
    UR Delver - Loss
    Elves - Win
    UR Delver - Win
    Reanimator - Win
UR Delver (Dan Jordan) - Loss

    Reanimator - Draw
    D&T - Win
    Elves - Win
    RUG delver - Draw
    D&T - Win
    UR Delver - Loss
    D&T - Win

Only playing against 5 distinct archetypes over 13 played rounds was pretty lame. I don't think I have ever played against less archtypes in a legacy tournament. All 3 of my losses were to UR delver. Both draws were due to stupid stuff like not being able to see the clock or hear announcements, or the opponent playing slowly (but not technically slow play). Both draws game 3 were not even close. They was completely locked up in my favor at the end of turns. Although I can't fault my opponents for drawing. I made many boneheaded mistakes, like flipping a top and "miracling" a land after mixing up the order on top, or casting snapcaster after exiling the spell I was going to target with DTT, but besides Dan Jordan, none of my opponents felt like they were better players than me and a few of them were pretty bad.

Maindeck blasts were nuts. Council's Judgment was poop. Dig was great, but I might go back to 3 Jace. Stoneforege seemed good, but I am not sure about her. The SB needs some tweaking and I might need to change my plan vs UR.

    My plan vs UR was:
    -1 CJ
    -4 FoW
    -1 Counterspell
    -2 jace
    -1 Entreat

    +2 SFM
    +1 batterskull
    +1 BEB
    +2 REB
    +1 Pyroclasm
    +1 W/T
    +1 EE

But apparently UR delver players bring in 1-3 Smash to Smithereens even in game 2 before they see batterskull, so batterskull was often meh. One round in game 3 I took the SFM package out and brought in Entreat and 2 flusters. I dont know if thats right though, I still lost haha.

Congrats to the Miracles pilots, especially the Europeans! I wish I had the stamina and mental fortitude to play this deck. I think your consistent finishes have proved this to be the deck to beat, IF you are a good pilot. I figured some of your cards were so good that I had to steal them for my deck

I Highly doubt Tom Ross playing Infect can be considered a offbeat list anymore - He ONLY plays that deck, and has only done so for the last 2 years, or something. He even won a SCG Inventational with it.

Back-to-back SCG Invitationals, in fact. Although one of them had a Standard Top 8.

    Re: [DTB] Miracle Control

Philipp, i don't like you and you don't like me, but a 2nd Top 4 is impressive. Congrats!

Your list looks very good, would have played the same (if i wouldn't got sick) with some minor changes. (i don't like 3 Jaces, 1 Dig Through Time seems better than the 3rd Jace due to UR Delver& Infect ( ;) ) and i think SFM is better than Blue blasts due to it's versatility)

One last thing, I guess you found out that Infect is not a dumb creature deck and not a good MU ;)
