Actually one more question...
why are people playing Kozilek over Ulamog? It seems like card draw isn't an issue for this deck whereas an uncounterable vindicate seems really good. Thanks again.
If we had true answers to these questions there wouldn't be 100+ pages of discussion here.
But seriously, this deck is shockingly malleable and can change DRASTICALLY to shift with the meta.
For example, these days Tabernacle in the mainboard is extremely valuable to combat U/R Delver. Glacial Chasm is also pretty important right now. Bojuka bog? Not as much. Really the only guaranteed cards in this deck is:
4 Cloudpost
4 Glimmerpost
2+ Vesuva
1 Eye of Ugin
4 Primeval Titan
1+ Candelabra
The rest is simply the toolbox you build around it to support those cards. U/G has been the most successful version, and cards like Brainstorm and Repeal see a lot of play, but people have also gotten there with Mono Green or even R/G.
Regardless, welcome to the most fun you can legally have in Legacy. :-D

Would that have been Wilkin you played against. Seeing posts being vindicated is not pleasant.
I top 4'd an event lastweek with a list similar to daylan fox, except with Oracle in place of corser, also no dryad, which was a mistake, and only 1 SNT. Oracle was great, as was trinket mage. Definitely playing two next time. My only loses came to the same U/R delver, only taking 1 game out of the 5 we played and that was because he mulled to five and kept a weak hand.
Died in round 8 of 9 yesterday. :-(
All I needed to do what untap, hardcast emrakul and make it to round 9, hanging out under a glacial chasm. My 8th round opponent was Meathooks of all things! He aether vialed in his one in the 75 vindicate sliver, blew up my glacial chasm and killed me. Le sigh lol!
I think unlocked an achievement. Turn 3 Kozilek on the play against MUD. Yay for that deck playing cloudposts and me playing candlesticks. :)
Also one of my friends on Miracles lost to Rock Lee in round seven. I believe his words were "I entreated the angels, Rock untapped and I died".![]()
Does your friend have "angle" Angel tokens? Because that was hilarious.
I learned a valuable lesson this week. I got too cute with my list since I couldn't playtest all week due to having to sit around with my foot elevated after spraining my ankle, and the results were disastrous. Still, it was a pleasure meeting some of you, and getting a foil Unhinged Island signed by John Avon was a nice consolation prize :)
Yes, you probably need Candelabra if you're running a Cloudpost deck.
After GP New Jersey, I now own:
2 Tropical Island
1 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
1 Karakas
3 Misty Rainforest
4 Show and Tell
4 Ensnaring Bridge
2 Primeval Titan
1 Crop Rotation
1 Expedition Map
4 Glimmerpost
4 Cloudpost
Plan on getting more Primeval Titans/the 4th Misty Rainforest/Eye of Ugin/The Eldrazi/possibly a 3rd/4th Tropical Island/Possibly 1 Dark Depths/etc...
I know there is more than 1 way to go about 12 post, anyone have any insight on what "staples" I should be getting for the most popular list/lists? So far I'm aiming for at a minimum, the remaining Primeval Titans/4th Misty/Eldrazi stuff.

Welcome to the Deck! :-)
First of all I would suggest to wait for the newest list of Rock Lee, he is one of the best pilots with this deck. In the meanwhile you can try to get 3 more Crop Rotations, a playset of Repeals and Chain of vapors. Also 2 vesuva, 1 trinket mage. And of course the Eldrazi stuff you mentioned, so 1 Emrakul, 1 Eye of Ugin. Right now there are two parties about the second Eldrazi, some play Kozilek, some Ulamog... Can't help you there, it's a question of meta and play-style. Also go for 2 moment's peace as well ;-)
Thank you for the responses. I forgot about elephant grass, and I have Cavern of Souls so that should help. The big money stuff I know I still need to get are 2 more Primevals & Eldrazi stuff. I assume I should get all 4 Trops as well (currently at 2)

I did plan on basic Island / Forest as there are things like Blood Moons running around. (Ty Repeal!)
Does this deck typically win 95% of the time once a Primeval Titan is resolved? I'd imagine against creature based strategies especially, or tempo strategies, resolving a 6/6 trampler and gaining life ruins their day most of the time.

Correct, in most of the times a resolved Titan wins you the game. He is so multifunctional, getting you Glimmerposts for life, Chasmn in order to buy 2-3 additional turns, bojuka plus vesuva to empty both graveyards turning goyfs into tiny little pets,..... But always be careful about fetching Eye of Ugin as it enters tapped and could be wasted without a chance to be useful. Candelabra is great here!
The fourth Tropical Island is not necessary (I've been running an additional fetchland over it for an additional shuffle effect forever now and can't recall an instance where it hurt me), the third is probably a good idea though. Repeal is probably the most important card you missed on your list, it's such an essential part of the way I play the deck. A Venser, Shaper Savant or two could be something worthwhile to pick up. It doesn't quite fit in the current builds, but it's inherently powerful enough and could very well make its way back in the deck with just minor meta game shifts. Glen Elendra Archmage has also been somewhat popular in the past.
Resolving Primeval Titan is the main game plan the deck has. Sometimes it's not enough to dig you out of a hole you're in, but losing after getting an attack in with a Titan is almost unheard of.
The deck is all about survival until the epic turn/turns/infinite turns where things swing in your favor.
The easiest way to beat the deck is to keep it off us off of colored or uncolored mana. Any deck with stifles and wastelands is difficult. Price of progress is obviously a beating too. That card is usually counter/chasm or loose. Some decks rely on Bloodmoon to get you. Occasionally it does, but it's not that hard to play around, you just to fetch basics preemptively and vesuva basics if necessary.
