I prefer strategic diversity to color diversity, and would like to see Legacy do powerful things.

Consultation is probably better than the cards in the 'power 9'. This is especially true in legacy where things are casting cost sensitive.

I thought there could be some use for WGD in Tin Fins as to play Emrakul from hand or make lots of mana to play the 14 cards drawn of Grisly, but Drownyard+Oona looks interesting.

Ah the good old, ban everything but necro, then ban necro anyway after it doesn't work. They tried this plan in the 90's it didn't work or make sense then, and 20 years later it still doesn't.

/Like obviously BS isn't Necro, but to even suggest Ponder or Preordain is a pretty ludicrous place to start.

If anything the necro in that scenario is Delver, as it is exactly what blue should not have a cheap effecient beater, so instead of playing catch up and stabilizing, it is the aggro.

... and I was juuuust saying at our Thursday Legacy night that they'll never unban WGD because of the unintended rules artifact it creates. I don't think this has ever been more appropriate:

I was just getting used to Cruise being around; out of any of the Formats I think legacy was best equipped to handle it but I'm not unhappy to see something that degenerate go... just slightly bummed we're back to the 'old' meta again.

And FWIW, I'm definitely a Sad Panda when it comes to Modern. RIP Birthing Pod :(

Exactly. I think with all the Eldrazi in the metagame, Oona is worth a spot and not the worst Reanimation target itself

I came here this afternoon to express my relief that the blight of treasure cruise has been lifted from the format.

Although this was the stance I was advocating for, I never thought wizards would actually do it. A very welcome and pleasant surprise to know that they were seeing the same thing I was seeing.

There are certainly many more cards that could be candidates for the chopping block, but my personal opinion was that treasure cruise was public enemy number 1, and is the only reason I ever showed up to this cluster of a thread in the first place.

It's been real folks, I'll see you again the next time wizards prints some overpowered blue bullpucky.

Time to go dust off my discard........

Nice to see WGD back even if it does nothing it's still an interesting deckbuilding exercise. Draownyard tech is pretty cool. I'm pretty ambiguous regarding the TC ban and I don't mind it being banned.
