Mrblueduck, why no goblin piledriver or krenko? How can we beat TNN without them?
When do you bring in chains of mephisto? My first guess would be 'combo decks'. However I can see a risk in messing with like ANTs cantrips at the cost of fill their graveyard, i.e. Past in Flames. Its very effective though in combination with graveyardhate carda. Still, Im only guessing here. Could you explain that cardchoice? And what do you think of Spirit of the Labyrinth in comparison to chains of mephisto?

MD Pyro and Tarfire and the best removal spells. You need to stop the initial wave, and then Gempalm and Ringleader can start really taking over the game as they are rather threat light.
For storm
+ 3 RIP
+ 3 Thalia
+ 2 Chains
+ 2 Blasts
+ 1 Cage
Sometimes +1 Sharpshooter, depending on what you see.
What you take out depends on how much artifact based ramp you saw and if you are on the play or the draw.
I've played against TNN a lot. Piledriver isnt the answer. There is basically no match-up you want that card in. Krenko fluctuates alot in value, and in the current meta, he isnt very good. We are in a bolt meta, and if it shifts back to an abrupt decay meta, I would once again consider him as a potential card. For TNN, they aren't that good unless they have equipment. Answer the equipment, and you can always Blast a TNN or plague him out. Plague has turned out to be a fantastic answer for the grindy UWR decks.
Chains is OK against combo decks. It does wreck Jeskai ascendancy and Griselbrand builds, but its really there for the Treasure Cruise decks. They are running 16 cantrips in 4 probes, 4 ponder, 4 BS, and 4 cruise. Those decks have a very difficult beating a resolved Chains. Ive got quite a few concessions over a turn two Chains. Spirit is not a good SB card for us right now. Way to easy to kill in these match-ups.

Talking about goblins in the banned e restricted thread the user Lemnear who probably everyone knows suggested playing carpet of flowers in goblins ... I have to say i never thought about it. Given that the top decks are all blue, carpet could come in frome the sideboard (i wouldn't go as far as maindecking it) replacing lackey that is tipically worse postboard or just replacing bad cards. Certainly that enchantment can give a huge mana boost and sometimes be even better than a vial.
It's just an idea but i found it intriguing.... what's your impression ?
Legacy:
Treasure Cruise is banned.
Worldgorger Dragon is no longer banned.
Carpet of Flowers: At the beginning of each of your main phases, if you haven't added mana to your mana pool with this ability this turn, you may add up to X mana of any one color to your mana pool, where X is the number of Islands target opponent controls.
Considering the amount of Islands a U-based deck plays, will it's inclusion (it should be an 3- or 4-of, nothing less) be that good? On top of how much mana a U-based deck needs... I don't know exactly, but say that you would net a maximum of 3 mana each turn... Is that good enough?
Yes, that would absoluteLy be enough. The real questions areConsering the amount of Islands a U-based deck plays, will it's inclusion (it should be an 3- or 4-of, nothing less) be that good? 1. in Which MUs do we want to bring in carpet? I.e. when does it help us winning the game?
2. is carpet better than other cardsin these MUs?
//Edit : I will Come back at these questions soon. I find the idea extremelly attractive but I want to got through my boarding Plans First Before I share my thoughts

Interesting consideration for Carpet of Flowers. It definitely would act as a Lackey/Vial #9-12, making it easier to land that T1 accelerator. Generally if you land Carpet T1 then you'll have 3 mana to play with T2 on the play and 4 mana T2 on the draw. That's is pretty substantial, and the benefits are obvious.
Here's what I see as the two main problems with the card:
First, it's not a Goblin. You are siding out a threat in order to play a card that helps you play more threats. In some matches that seems like an excellent benefit (RUG, BUG, Stoneblade) because the extra mana will just power out Ringleaders and help you win with CA and rebuild after sweepers. It is pretty cool that carpet gets better as the game goes deeper. But, without resolving a Matron or Ringleader, Carpet is just a dead card on board. Maybe it would be best suited for a very aggro build then. Just dump your whole hand and race. Then again, it also looks really good with Gempalm.
Second, Carpet is Green. Green is not the best color to complement the deck. It really only gives you access to TSH and KGrip, neither of which are world beaters right now. White and Black still seem like much more powerful splash colors. And I've run 2 splashes before, but then the deck starts losing to itself and mana issues at a much higher rate.
As I write this I'm thinking about the MUs you'd want Carpet in. They are the grindy midrange aggro-control decks of the format I listed earlier. Those decks don't generally want you to have excess mana. They also don't want you to have CA. Carpet feeds your CA engines against those decks. Now that Treasure Cruise is going away this week the format will be slowing down a bit and cards like Gempalm are going to be better, which will make Carpet better. And combo will slow down too.
So I don't know. It has promise, but only in some MUs. Those are pretty popular decks though.
#Carpet of Flowerpower
Im thinking that the card is a good SB choice. It gives us a pretty big advantage in a handful of MUs which I believe are winnable when ever we have Access to enough mana to put our CA Engine into action. While I do believe that U Bladedecks are favorable MUs and BUG variants are slightly positive MUs as well, They are by no mean autowins in the Same way Miracles is. I think that BLADE and BUG deck will Sometimes outperform us with cardquality if we cant either (1) disrupt Them early on (e.g. by Tarfiring their Squires) or (2) keep up with our latently overprized spells. That is, whenever we have enough mana available or the right cards to Cheat on mana, we are very likely to win these MUs.
Carpet of Flowers does exactly that. It acts as a dark Ritual on the turn it Hits the battlefield. It Makes us almost entirely wastelandproof. And it gives us and additional way to Cheat on mana.
I will give carpet a Spin on Saturday and Report back to share my impressions. Might as well be that I dont get to use it or I dont draw it, as there arent many MUs where I would aktuelle board it in.

Hi everyone. I made top 4 of a 37 player tournament yesterday, playing a R/B classic list as usual.
I went 5-1-2 in matches, beating Esper Stoneblade, Belcher, Death and Taxes, and B/W Taxes (twice), with my one loss being to Miracles. I had a good run and felt like I played well overall. It was nice to be able to play focused again, and I got a Force of Will and a Bloodstained Mire, as well as a ticket for an upcoming legacy tournament. I also had a few really tight games that were a lot of fun. I was trying out two copies of Cabal Therapy maindeck, but didn't draw them often enough to have any real opinion on them, although I like them so far and will keep playing them for at least a while.

And how did it go, Gobolord? Any succes?
Nice going, Sandro, care to share your current list?
I was thinking about going mono Red, dropping Wasteland's and Rishadan Port's all together (blasphemy!), and going with maindeck Blood Moon's... Soooo, perhaps not the best, but I reason that Blood Moon would seriously be crippling when it resolves in this new meta. Thoughts, pro's and con's, are appreciated![]()
Didnt get to play magic on Saturday :-\ However, the more I think about it the more I like the idea

Hey guys. I'm planning on playing gobs this weekend in scg Indy. Just curious if anyone has a sweet list they would for sure play in a big legacy tourney. Thanks!
4 Caverns,
3 Wasteland,
2 Pendelhaven
6 Mountain
6 Fetchlands
2 Taiga
4 Vial
4 Lackey
4 Winstigator
2 Piledriver
4 Chieftain
4 Matron
4 Ringleader
4 Tarfire
1 Stingscourger
1 Tin Street Hooligan
1 Kiki-Jiki
1 Sharpshooter
1 Settler
2 Pyrokinesis
SIDEBOARD [15]
4 Chalice of the Void
2 Pithing Needle
1 Relic of Progenitus
2 Grafdiggers Cage
3 Carpet of Flowers
1 Goblin Settler
1 Tuktuk Scrapper
1 Krenko, Mob Boss
MountainCaverns, Lackey, Go.

The list I played was largely based on my older lists, with the rest being a mess, as I decided to play last minute. I even played a Taiga with no green cards. :P
I made some changes yesterday though that I've been very happy with.
I played a sweet RB list yesterday that I would definitely be rocking in any big legacy tournament.
2 Arid Mesa
3 Bloodstained Mire
1 Wooded Foothills
4 Cavern of Souls
3 Badlands
4 Snow-Covered Mountain
4 Wasteland
2 Chrome Mox
4 Aether Vial
4 Goblin Lackey
1 Skirk Prospector
3 Mogg War Marshal
1 Goblin Piledriver
2 Goblin Warchief
1 Goblin Chieftain
4 Goblin Matron
4 Goblin Ringleader
1 Krenko, Mob Boss
1 Goblin Sharpshooter
1 Tuktuk Scrapper
1 Earwig Squad
2 Cabal Therapy
3 Tarfire
2 Gempalm Incinerator
1 Warren Weirding
1 Pyrokinesis
This list felt super consistent yesterday, as I was always in the game. I like how it uses Chrome Mox, not as a way to power out Winstigator or Bloodmoon for more free wins, but simply as a way to make the deck more consistent. With only two copies of Cabal Therapy you don't run the risk of drawing too many of them. Although this makes ripping someone's hand appart less doable, the goal is more often to take care of a few very problematic cards (Batterskull, True-Name Nemesis etc.). The Earwig Squad fills a similiar role, and adds a sweet new angle to the tutor package.
Sideboard
4 Chalice of the Void
1 Cabal Therapy
2 Thoughtseize
2 Relic of Progenitus
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Engineered Plague
1 Pyrokinesis
1 Goblin Sharpshooter
1 Earwig Squad
1 Tuktuk Scrapper
This is the sideboard I played, and it's the one part of the deck I would like to tinker with. Chalice of the Void + discard spells has been my combo hate of choice for a long time, and I couldn't be happier with it. What I need to figure out is how to approach the matchups where I want both but have few actively bad cards (blade control, miracles etc.). The relics and the Cage have proven to be enough to beat graveyard decks consistently, as we have a lot of mainboard tricks versus dredge already, and the combo hate is excellent verus reanimator as well. The one Engineered Plague has been a nice catchall to bring in as another answer to TNN, Mother of Runes, or Young Pyromancer. The second Tuktuk Scrapper is necessary to deal with the usual equipment package of Umezawa's Jitte, Batterskull and Sword of Fire and Ice.

If you are running green Sylvan Library deserves a shout. You run fetches, and you might be able to get away with paying 8 life and Ancestral Recalling a turn against Miracles. Maybe swap a Pyrokenesis for ye olden silver bullet? If UR Delver represenation goes down that is. I don't play Goblins at all by the way, just making a shout for a card that's been getting mad love from the format as non-blue deck try to manipulate their draws.
edit: Choke also probably deserves a shout as a Green Moon that won't shut down your utility lands.
I would probably go with the B/R versions. Just giving you access to Cabal Therapy, Earwig Squad and Warren Weirding. Miracles is back on the rise, and being able to earwig squad their win conditions out of the game seems really effin good right now. The deck doesn't have much trouble with Sneak and show either which seems to be coming back in a big way.
Finally got yo play again! Missed my green men. So much, that had to play with the classic Mogg Fanatic, inspired by a list a saw here sometime ago.
R1 Ub Omnishow
G1 - He goes with Seize, taking Vial, then FoW another Vial. On the same turn I make Mox + Lackey. It connects for Krenko and I play MWM. The turn before I kill him he SnT into Omni into kill. I had Matron for Emrakul.
G2 - He both go to 5. I Lead with Lackey, into Thalia. He manages to get to 4 mana nad SnT Omni, but has to pass the turn. I kill him.
G3 - He Ponders, I play land. He play City of Traitors and SnT into Omni. I drop Thalia. My turn I cast Canonist. He Preordains. I play Eidolon. He plays DTT on my endstep with City. He plays Toxic Deluge for 2, and win on the same turn. Really disappointing end.
R2 DnT
G1 - Lackey Trades with Mom, then trades again. I slowly build up ground and we both get Vial. Gempalm + Fanatic take care of a Batter token that he cast, Tuktuk comes down to destroy it after he equips on a dude and he doesn't draw much more.
G2 - We trade some resources. Get to a point where I had Ringleader and Matron into play, and he had Needle for Gempalm, and Revoker for Fanatic. I had them both in hand, and Tuktuk. I decide to Tuktuk Needle to kill Revoker, and to continue the beatdown. The problem is that my clock was too slow. He manages to draw some equipment and I lose to Batter + Jitte later. Tuktuk should always be held for equipment in this MU, except when destroying a Vial or Revoker will surely make you win.
G3 - I play Vial, so does he. I play Fanatic. He plays Port. Vial in Lackey and win from there with Fanatic killing Mom.
R3 Jund
G1 - Lackey connects into Krenko + MWM. T3 he scoops.
G2 - He seizes and see Fanatic, Ringleader, 5 Lands. Takes Fanatic. I don't find another removal for Bob, or another card to play until turn 4. That enough tie for a Goyf to kill me.
G3 - I'm low on mana. Get 2 Vial. He gets 2 Goyf. Then Pulses my Vials. That's that.
R4 Golddigger (Raystar here. Really nice to meet you man)
G1 - T1 Lackey eats FoW. T2 Lackey doesn't. I win shortly after.
G2 - Get to a point when I pass the turn with this game estate: I have 2 lands, Matron an MWM Tokens into play, and Vial @2. My hand has Thalia, Matron Wear/Tear and something else. He has 2 lands + a Fetch and a Top. I pass. He E.Tutors. I decide not to respond with Thalia or Wear Tear. He gets Moat. I let he play a land and Moat. EoT I Vial Thalia. Then Tear his Moat. Don't know if he had FoW or not, but he couldn't cast it. I tick vial to 3, draw a land, Matron for and Cast Chieftain, and he goes to 1. This made my day.
Albeit my losses, I loved this version. Fanatic was great and is really good against several decks on the meta now. The W splash is my favorite to go against combo, and the rest of the deck can still grind against fair decks.
This is the list, and the SB I'm going to play next time.
Fanatic for Goblins
3 Wasteland
2 plateau
2 Pendelheaven (1 is supposed to be a Karakas)
4 Mountains
6 Fetchland
4 cavern of Souls
2 Chrome Mox
(Gonna try - 1Pendel, -1 Cavern for 2 Port next time)
4 Aether Vial
4 Goblin Lackey
4 Goblin Matron
4 Goblin Ringleader
4 Goblin Chieftain
3 Mogg Fanatic
3 Mogg Warmarchall
1 tuktuk scrapper
1 Krenko, Mob Boss
1 Siege-Gang Commander
1 Goblin Sharpshooter
1 Stingscourger
4 Gempalm Incinerator
2 Tarfire (Gonna try the 3rd for the 4th Gempalm, but not sure)
SB (As i plan on using next tournament)
1 Chalice of the void
2 Ethersworn Cannonist
3 Thalia
2 Eidolon of the great reveal
1 Containment Priest
2 Wear / Tear
2 Rest in peace
1 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Armageddon
I think this SB covers pretty much everything nowadays. Combos, including Elves and Reanimator. Lands and other Control strategies. Artifact/Enchantment and Grave. Jund and Bug with RiP. UR is covered with 9 removals MD.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I invite other people to try this if you can. People get really surprised to see some of the cards and is super fun to play.
Super Bizarros Team. Beating everything with small green dudes and big waves.
Pretty fun list, ScatmanX! Pretty surprises to see Mogg Fanatic these days. No Warchief or Piledriver; you never missed them? How well did Wasteland perform?
