Looks like ~25 tonight for legacy. Jammy vintage between rounds.
I watched this last night--since WUBRG wasn't streaming this week.
It was terrible.
A third of the screen was taken up by the commentators, including one in a Lucha mask for who knows what reason. The video was out of sync by at least 20 seconds. The camera had to be readjusted a few times.
Commentary:
The commentators barely described the match, instead they cracked inside jokes about each player and their deck. They did not keep track of life totals. No insight was offered. I'd rather the players be mic'd up like on the Meadery stream. I'm not sure if one of the commentators was Nedleeds, but I can see why he has such distain for brainstorm and a blue format. The atmosphere in that store is toxic. Lots of anger towards blue strategies. It's clear that you guys obviously hate the format, so why not put on other people who actually like Legacy? You got 32 people playing on a Thursday night, right? So SOMETHING must be good about the format.
Please watch WUBRG's stream and SCGLIVE so you can see how streaming should be done.
Cool, for a third week streaming having used three different computers and having no permanent fixtures for a consistent setup process it sounds like it's going alright.
I'm not sure what was up with the video/audio desyncs, but they were atrocious last night. It started out fine, then got worse, then waned back and forth for a bit before reaching a ridiculous 2 minute camera delay at some point in the night. Might have been overloading the bus or the usb hub or something; the on-computer stuff (window capture, overlay text) were all perfectly in sync. It's pretty hard to commentate a match when you're not even talking about the same turn the players are in. The first two rounds were a lot easier while the audio was still in sync. With the exception of the Miracles mirror I think the commentary was fairly on point and relevant to the game.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the card+commentary taking up a third of the screen. The game field is the exact same size regardless, the only thing you're missing out on is excess crotch and cleavage cam. Both SCG and WURBG shrink the game field to display anything on the side.
This is just a group of guys having fun playing magic. It's not a business like SCG and therefore doesn't need to try and cater to new players so that they purchase product.
Thanks for writing up some comments. The technical stuff obviously will be addressed, but the commentary might just not be what you're looking for.
Tusk up.

The locals seem to think it's hilarious and amusing. If you really hate the commentary that much, feel free to mute. I can't imagine a table Mic to be all that interesting because I know in round 1 when I was getting crushed I don't think my opponent and I were saying anything overly interesting
Why do you have to quote people on my ignore list. We got 32 people because we're streaming and people love the internet. Prior to my and other tusks efforts we were barely firing. Little of the attendance has anything to do with Legacy the format and everything to do with the social aspect of hanging out, making fun of each other and eating sandwiches. If you want more consistent equipment feel free to paypal haganbmj. Your first reaction is to cry about something free. Everyone doing this has day jobs, why are you comparing it to SCG? You can't be that plumb retarded? If you don't like it, then fuck off, you won't be missed.
Edit:
So you watched it weeks ago and hated it and watched it again? There's a medical term for that. Then came in here to say the same thing? You're a troll. Go back to your basement and hibernate.

I didn't watch it weeks ago. I specifically said the only reason I watched it ONCE (last night) was because the usual streams I watch were down. All this anger inside you is very toxic. I suggest you seek counseling.
Edit:
I was comparing the COMMENTARY to SCG and WUBRG. Have some pride in your work. You can do better!
Eh, I play at this store every week. Toxic is a bit much. You're inferring a lot from a private stream. Keep in mind, this isn't an official store stream. They're kind enough to allow the Tusk guys to show up every week with their rig and stream some legacy, which they have a lot of fun doing. It's a fairly rough and tumble group, but to each their own. The Thursday crowd is also way up from before they began streaming every week, and to my knowledge is the most consistent legacy turnout in the city. People enjoy it.
Bear in mind that they specifically asked for Source members to view it. It's not like I just found this stream and decided to nitpick. They wanted us to view it. I get that they are playing to "their audience" but their real audience is the streamers, not their friends who are playing the game. Those people can't see/hear the stream. Maybe people who play at the store enjoy having others call their decks boring and requiring no skill. Maybe they enjoy the announcers making fun of their receding hairlines, but as far as I'm concerned this has no place on an actual stream. To each their own, I guess, but no other streams act like this. And it may just be an unofficial store stream but once broadcasted, it absolutely goes against the store. If I were the store owner and I watched that I would be embarrassed. But maybe their store owner also likes to make fun of people who are going bald, and I'm just being too sensitive :)
Pretty sure the first thing we said on the stream you don't watch was it was the first time it was being hosted by 2 bald dudes. So yeah, I think you are a sensitive pussy.
3 weeks before streaming we were getting 8-12; if enough people called around and begged people to play. This week was 32, which to my (old) recollection is the most since before Mental Misstep for a weekly. Super used to consistently pull in 25-35 before New Phyrexia, the number would wax and wane depending on the college schedule mostly. The store benefits by selling more food and drink (it's a cafe), I'm not sure eternal magic impacts single sales too much but they do take in 3 times the entry, and people inevitably buy cards to complete their decks. None of the members of Team Tusk play much draft or standard, so I don't think we'll ever stream that.
One thing I realized we didn't do a good job of last week was ask and double confirm that people really wanted to be the on camera match. Most people just nod, but I can see a newer player not wanting to have their inexperience exposed to the world. Though we also don't use many real names on the stream anyway. For anyone who wants to be more competitive being on camera at a local might help the nerves at a larger event. As for the ribbing, everyone who has come off camera has been laughing, even when we punt, it's funny. If you are looking for quiet subdued coverage try the golf channel. In between jokes we'll try to point out whats happening but tusk vision is not a place to get a tutorial on how to execute a perfect Brainstorm.
For what it's worth, the stream is marked as having "Mature Content" whenever you go into it, so you shouldn't really be expecting some nice friendly SCG-esque stream in the first place. The commentary is kind of abrasive, but it's also entertaining, and in the end that's all that really matters.
I thoroughly enjoy playing on camera. It's exciting and I like the audience, plus I like being able to go back and see what the commentators thought about the particular lines that I took. This is even more fun because I get to hear the jokes made at my expense. Sean is very well known throughout the community and is well liked by a majority of the eternal players as far as I know. It's all in good fun. And like said, regardless of what people think, this has been excellent for the turnout. This is the biggest non SCG turnout for an Atlanta legacy event I've participated in since like 2013. I understand some people want to see like analysis, but we've seen a lot of these match ups a million times on camera. There's not much to say that you don't already know. In the end people in the chat seem to find it entertaining and enjoy bantering with the commentators.
Stream is kicking off here in a few moments!
