To those of you playing the black splash, what do you think about hideous laughter as a wishable answer to multiple hatebears?
Once you go Legacy...
all the hatebears in the universe are white. Massacre is just better. Overall if you can access to Cunning Wish and double B and overall play a more than 3cc spell, hou should be already winning
Yeah, I think this is just way too slow. I've also done the search for "Black instant" with "all creatures" in its text, but I think there is nothing good enough. Snuff Out or Slaughter Pact are just so much faster and take care of most scenarios. I feel like if you are facing multiple hatebears, there's a reasonable chance one of them is a Thalia, as well, making 3cc -> 4cc answers even slower.
Also agree with Poron that the BB is a problem - even if you can fetch two black sources, you are probably forced to play into Wasteland which is very common in the decks that run hatebears.
I like doing 2x Massacre to board in, and 1x of the free creature kills as a wish target.
I think Toxic Deluge may have been missed here?
From my phone. I do my best, dammit!
What about some number of dread of nights?
Once you go Legacy...
For black-splash options to side in (not wish for), I think you have 4 reasonable choices:
Massacre
Dread of Night
Toxic Deluge
Virtue's Ruin
Very similar to ANT's sideboard choices against hatebears, but one difference is that we can win through Gaddock Teeg while they cannot (granted, shutting off Dig is annoying). To me, that tips the balance in favor of Massacre because it's free and thus usually allows you to combo on the same turn.
in that case we'd need 2 in order to kill an hatebear in Massacre/Virtue's Ruins case only 1
Overall we want to use it the very same turn we go off, so Massacre is just perfect. I also play Volcanic Fallout in SB for eventual Gaddock Teeg (SnT, Omniscience, CWish, Fallout) and Sudden shock in case of whatever with a MoR on the field.
What are ways for MonoU Omni-Tell to handle a mirror MU?
Is it possible to put Omniscience using Show and Tell and without passing priority play another Omniscience so the opponent won't be able to completely shut you down by casting Wipe Away?

Carpe Diem
Came in 10th Out of 30 this weekend with a mostly stock list with the R splash. Could have made top 8 but my DnT opponent during round 5 needed to play me so I couldn't ID my way in.
Changes I made and mostly regret:
-1 island, -1 DTT, +1 Boseiju, +1 Intuition (didn't regret this change)
My board had +1 DTT, +1 Curfew, -1 Boseiju, -1 Electrickery.
1st Round, Win vs Oops (1-0)
I lost to a turn 1 kill, then boarded out my Boseiju and shoved in Sudden Shock. Won game 2 because I kept countering his combo enablers with timely FOW's, then won game 3 when I Surgical'd away his Dread Return (he discarded it) while Balustrade Spy's ability was on the stack.
2nd Round, Win vs Mirror (2-0)
My opponent ran with a black splash, but in game 1, while we both put Omniscience into play thanks to my Show and Tell, we both had nothing to play after. I eventually top decked into a can trip into Emrakul. In game 2, I hit his DTT with Split Decision then Flusterstormed his own copy. I controlled the game from there with Pyromancers. He had no answers for him.
3rd Round, Loss vs Miracles (2-1)
First game, I won because I managed to force Emrakul through via SnT without any resistance from him. Game 2 and 3, he managed to keep me occupied with Counterbalance, and I had to use Boseiju to sidestep it while he was beating me down with Snapcaster. I couldn't find my combo in time.
4th Round, Win vs BW (3-1)
Didn't believe In the power of DTT until this one. Dude kept hitting me with discard, but I recovered to, combo out with Emrakul in game 1, then in game 2, he misused his Surgical to take out my Preordain, and I coasted into Emrakul plus Curfew shortly after.
5th Round, Loss vs Death and Taxes (3-2)
This is where I felt Boseiju's worthlessness big time. I was lucky he mulled to 5 in game 1, so when I got down Omniscience, I had to deal with Thalia but eventually got to cast Emrakul by using one mana at a time to cast dig. Then cunning, then Call, then Emrakul. Game 2, I was locked down by Rishadan and Wasteland. Game 3, he managed to Use that Removal spell with Will of the Council on me while I was in Omniscience but locked down by Ethersworn Canonist.
Overall, need to practice more, especially with boarding. My goldfish is near perfect, but my boarding choices, not so much.
While drawing 7 and passing the turn might not backfire against some decks, I absolutely don't like that Day's Undoing empties your graveyard. Seems pretty antisynergistic with Dig... There are also few matchups where I'm comfortable giving my opponent a full grip. Grinding them out with Dig seems so much better. Am I missing anything?
If you're playing mono blue, you obviously don't have Pyromancer and the combo is your only way to win.
The easiest way to win through the combo is EOT Cunning Wish for Wipe Away and then Show & Tell on your turn. Once S&T resolves, you get priority again and can Wipe Away their Omniscience. It should be rather easy to win from there.
Some general advice for the mirror (UR or mono U):
1) I prefer to draw first. The mirror is all about card advantage and one more land drop doesn't really matter, since you rarely want to go off on turn 3 anyway. Once both players have Omniscience in play, the one with more instants in hand usually wins. I'm lacking test results against UB Omnitell, so I'm not sure if it's actually better to play first so you can potentially protect your hand from T1 discard.
2) It's also important to have Omniscience in hand all the time to make the combo as awkward as possible for your opponent. But you probably already know that.
3) Play Boseiju. Making S&T, Wish and Dig uncounterable ist huge.
4) Use the sorcery speed cantrips in your hand ASAP. As I wrote above: The guy with more instants post Omniscience is a huge favorite.
5) Don't rely on Spell Pierce too much. The games go quite long, so it often becomes a dead card. With UR, I usually side out 2 (although UR can bring in Blasts instead, which mono U can't).
That's basically it. Just have the better hand once someone plays Show & Tell.
Hey all! Is anyone in this thread going to the Invitational in Jersey?
