Was wondering what preferences are on Foil Fetchlands.
Are people getting the new Expedition lands or sticking with Pack foils?
Honestly I don't like the border on the new expedition lands much but the art on some of them is beautiful.
I am picking them by my prefered art.
Arid Mesa - Zendikar Pack - True to what Mesa looks like don't like the new floating avatar silliness.
Bloodstained Mire - Khans Pack - actually like this one better then the original
Flooded Strand - Expedition - I really like waterfalls.
Marsh Flats - Zendikar Pack Foil - more traditional versus the avatar floating rock silliness.
Misty Rainforest - Expedition - the art on expedition is really pretty.
Polluted Delta - Expedition - just like how it looks.
Scalding Tarn - Zendikar Pack - like the volcano.
Verdant Catacombs - Expedition - tree maze Smile
Windswept heath - Khans Pack - trees swaying in the wind
Wooded Foothills - Khans Pack - winter trees and mountains looks nice.
So what are your opinions?
You don't mix types of foils.
Either you go set OR judge OR expeditions.
Oldest preferred.
Also, you DON'T MIX LANGUAGES.
Generally people will say that oldest is the most pimp. However, I like all my fetches to have the same border, and since I usually play BUG colored decks, that means my Polluted Deltas are judge foil to match the new border of the Misty's and Verdant Catacombs.
Whatever you decide to do, just be consistent. Having a couple expeditions sprinkled in with normal fetches is offputting.
Judge foil is inferior and expeditions are hugely inferior. Your fetches must be from onslaught (that holo thing is horrible) and zendikar and then it's up to you. If you like foil you can get those in different languages (there is some difference in value between languages but I think a chinese foil onslaught delta is pimp and very nice) or non-foil in different languages, match the languages (if you can) in your deck.
Most pimp is Japanese foil polluted delta (for example) and I would use Japanese foil scalding tarn (for example) to match not Russian (as I said Russian deltas are very ugly with the holo thingy).

In my opinion: Always pick the original booster pack foil (non English is better, Asian even better). I'd consider making an exception if I was playing Modern, in that case I'd play Khans of Tarkir over Onslaught. Expeditions aren't pimp.
(ONS/ZEN) Pack foil, and if I can't get it then pack non-foil.
Judge foil fetches and expedition foil fetches are ugly.

Even if you think the Expedition lands look cooler, you should be aware that the foiling process is similar to the FTV stuff. That's bad. If you put those puppies in a perfect fit, the edges can chip off and make your cards look all doodoo-ish. For that reason alone you should avoid them.

if only they made judge foil enemy fetches to match the ONS ones.

why cards are so expensive...hoarders
I was just having this conversation last night. For modern Legacy decks, I think uniformity between the cards is the goal. Since there is a large utilization of enemy fetchlands, and the lack of promo printings of this set makes Expeditions a valid choice.

Thank you for the replies.
Currently have pack foils for fetches since that is what I had for vintage and was wondering if it was worth picking up the Expeditions before the prices rise but seems that so far opinions at least here are against Expeditions.
Can not say I like the borders or foiling on the expeditions but I do really like the art on some of them.
Seems odd that some of the expeditions are priced higher then pack foils. Some of my vintage playing friends have picked up Expeditions for their vintage decks so was thinking of getting some before the prices rise to high.
I usually stick to English cards. Except for I do have some Italian Legends.
