Cursed scroll is my favourite card of all time.

That said, it's good at its best and with an average draw, or worse, it is a blank. I aftelt tried it in a bridge heavy mono red build and it was lack luster. Ratchet bomb and EE are better because they're more versatile. That's just my opinion. In shortcake i don't think it brings enough to warrant a slot.

Maybe it's time for Mono-Red to make a resurgence. A lot has changed in the meta lately, and Mono-Red might be better positioned again.

I've been playing the mono R version for a looooong time now, and it feels great. White gives you some better SB options, true. But the speed, the retarded draws and bitching OP's is the best :D

I played at my LGS yesterday and in the first round I played against affinity. Mulled to 6 with a turn 2 combo unprotected -> win. Game 2, keeping 7 cards, comboing on turn 2 with protection :D

While the R/W can do this, it seems more likely in the mono R version. I'm going to a swedish legacy tournament on saturday, and I'm bringing the red cards, with Misdirection in the SB :D

Unreeled art that was held in Duels 14 I think. Redditor posted that at art that has obviously been commissioned already so it wouldn't be to far of a stretch for them to create it in paper. Even as Judge promo maybe 45$ a piece?

Was posted on reddit. It's unused art that hasn't been published yet, don't know if it ever will but it exist so it's a possibility!

Isn't on the Grindstone on the Reserved List? Can they reprint it as a Foil?

    Re: [Deck] Imperial Painter

I participated in Viken Legacy Championships (56 players) in Sweden this weekend with my Painter deck and ended in 16th place with 4-2 after grinding it out though my chances of top8 was out as early as in R3.

This is my maindeck from the tournament:

    Picture of the Maindeck

    4 Painter's Servant
    4 Imperial Recruiter
    2 Goblin Welder
    1 Spellskite
    1 Phyrexian Revoker
    1 Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
    1 Magus of the Moon

    2 Simian Spirit Guide
    3 Lotus Petal
    1 Mox Opal

    4 Grindstone
    3 Sensei's Divining Top
    2 Ensnaring Bridge

    3 Blood Moon

    4 Pyroblast
    3 Red Elemental Blast

    2 Enlightened Tutor

    4 Ancient Tomb
    3 City of Traitors
    4 Bloodstained MIre
    1 Wooded Foothills
    3 Mountain
    2 Plateau
    2 Great Furnace

    Sideboard:

    Picture of the Sideboard

    1 Engineered Explosives
    2 Grafdigger's Cage
    1 Shattering Spree
    2 Sudden Demise
    1 Ethersworn Canonist
    1 Assemble the Legion
    2 Rest in Peace
    1 Thorn of Amethyst
    1 Trinisphere
    3 Ricochet Trap

I expected to face of many Shardless BUG players and thus went up to a 3rd Ricochet Trap in the sideboard to be able to fight over Abrupt Decays and Ancestral Recalls. This meta call also resulted in putting my former main deck Ethersworn Canonist into the Sideboard to give room for Spellskite in Main Deck.

    Round 1 vs Reanimator 0-2
Game 1: Kept a decent 6 with Painter and 2 Rebs and a top, but a T2 Iona on red didn't give me enough time.

Game 2: Mulligan to 5 keeping Ancient Tomb, Grafdigger's Cage, Sensei's Divining Top, Grindstone and a Blast. Scryed a Magus of the Moon to the bottom. Disrupted with Cage but didn't establish any threats until my opponent managed to hardcast a Grave Titan, while I was stuck on simply Ancient Tomb for a long while.

    Round 2 vs Death & Taxes 2-1
Game 1: Took my chances with a Turn 1 Magus of the Moon on the play and the game got pretty grindy. My opponent had a Revoker naming Grindstone and I had 6 or 7 turns to find one of my 7 blasts for that game - I didn't and he could beat me down with 2x Flickerwisp.

Game 2: A fairly grindy game again. Tricked my opponent into fetching a Sword of Fire and Ice and got to see the dissapointment on his face as I explained to him how the interaction with a Painter Servan't naming Blue and Sword of Fire and Ice is. Won through combo with blast backup for the plow.

Game 3: Early combo on a mulligan to 6 with no interaction from the Death & Taxes player.

    Round 3 vs Miracles 1-2
Game 1: Had a blast for the T2 Counterbalance from my opponent, and managed to establish a fairly early combo kill.

Game 2: Turned out to be a grindy game where my opponent finally was able to stabilize with the countertop.

Game 3: Took my chanes with a T1 Magus of the Moon after a mulligan to 6 together with T2 painter and T3 Recruiter to go on the aggroplan, hoping that he had a hand full of fetches and/or Islands. He had both top and Plains in the starting hand, and terminus managed to get me out of the game as my opponent stabilized. I tried to get back into the game with Assemble the Legion, but my opponent had a Mentor in play at that time and I had too many cards in hand to be able to lock down with a bridge.

    Round 4 vs TES 2-1
Game 1: I lost the die roll. Tried to trick my opponent to go off with goblins where he had a choice between going for Goblins with storm on 6, but instead he chose the path of Dark Petition for Ad Nauseaum and managed to get the Tendrils kill on that turn. I would have had the combo with a Grindstone from the top the next round.

Game 2: Turn 1 Trinisphere followed up by a T2 Ethersworn Canonist was hard for him to beat. I took 14 damage off Ancient Tomb that game.

Game 3: I went for Enlightened Tutor on end step to go for Ethersworn Canonist T2. Managed to do enough for me to be able to stabilize with a Painter and 2-3 blasts with the Canonist on Board. Topdecked a Grindstone to be able to go off earlier than with the beatdown.

    Round 5 vs Painter (!!!!) 2-1
Game 1: My opponent (feel bad calling a fellow Painter player opponent, but...) had a Painter on T1 after a mulligan to 5. I had Great Furnace + Mox Opal + Grindstone turn 1, and a land to follow up with on t2, but he had the T2 kill with a second Sol Land and a Grindstone. We both enjoyed this game.

Game 2: Kind of grindy and akward. We had Revokers on Grindstone and Top. My Shattering Spree managed to 3-for-1 and I won the grindgame.

Game 3: I had a t2 Revoker on Grindstone and followed up with a turn 3 Assemble the Legion and won with my beatdown a couple of rounds later. We had a nice round with Shattering Spree and Misdirections going off from right to left, but other than that it wasn't much action and my hasty soldiers managed to do what they're supposed to.

Round 6 vs BANT Knightfall Combo 2-1
Game 1: Slow and grindy at first. He was able to FoW a couple of my key spells and suddenly i took 14 damage of Doubble Strike from a True-Name Nemesis with a Rafiq of the Many (!) on the board.

Game 2: Fast and easy combo kill from me on T3.

Game 3: Grindy game. Walked into a Daze on my grindstone on a key spot, not having seen dazes the first 2 games. Finally managed to get the game into a state where i resolved a Painter and a Grindstone on the same turn, leaving a Pyroblast on top hoping that he would keep his Qasali Pridemage to stick with his beatdown plan and only sacc it in response to activation. He did, so I untapped with a Pyroblast on top, 4 mana and combo in play. Blasting his Pridgemage and activating Grindstone in response to his activation of the Pridemage got me to the finnish line.

Overall I'm quite happy with 4-2, though my expectations of facing off many Shardless BUG players was let down. Perhaps if I wouldn't have picked up the early losses I would have gotten to play that game more, since there was at least 2 Shardless BUG players in the top8.

    Hi @ll,

did somebody tried "Ghirapur Æther Grid"? Is it playable in Imperial Painter? Thanks for your input.

    Re: [Deck] Imperial Painter

If you highly increase the artifact count in the deck possibly, but that's not direction I personally would want to go with the deck.
