The Leylines (of Sanctity) are brought in mainly vs discard (Hymn to Tourach, Thoughtseize, Cabal Therapy). Also it can help vs Burn, but personally i would just want to race them rather them polluting my main.
As an alternative to Leyline you van play Thoughtseize yourself and/or bring more countermagic such as Spell Pierce, Flusterstorm, Misdirection.

As for your other two questions, i have no idea what your asking.

This is largely dependent on your build. If you have a very minimal wishboard, chances are that you won't often bring in your wishable instants. When you have redundancy, it often makes sense to bring in extra spells for games 2 and 3. Also, when Wish is going to be too slow to be effective for a particular card, you might bring it in (example: siding in Flusterstorm vs Thoughtseize/Hymn decks).

    Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell

Hey guys, my name is Andy Fent. I finished top 8 at the classic in Indy and have been playing/testing this deck ever since. I think it is really powerful and well positioned and a blast to play! I’m playing this weekend at the classic in Columbus and getting as prepared as I can for GP Columbus. Here is the list I plan to run on Sunday with some explanations and current meta matchups. I’m looking for thoughts and ideas I may have missed. I love this deck and I want to play the best version possible, so don’t hold back. Also, I want to thank Lejay, the thread creator, and all of the commenters. This was the source I used for constructing my version of the deck. And here we go…

    MB:
    Show and Tell x4
    Omniscience x4
    Emrakul
    Cunning Wish x4
    Intuition
    Brainstorm x4
    Ponder x4
    Gitaxian Probe x4
    Preordain x2
    Impulse x2
    Sensei’s Divining Top x2
    Force of Will x4
    Counterspell
    Spell Pierce
    Flusterstorm
    Jace, the Mind Sculptor x2
    Ancient Tomb x4
    Flooded Strand x4
    Polluted Delta x4
    Island x6
    Boseiju

    SB:
    Boseiju x2
    Defense Grid
    Echoing Truth
    Eladamri’s Call
    Flusterstorm
    Mindbreak Trap
    Ravenous Trap
    Submerge
    Noxious Revival
    Trickbind
    Firemind’s Foresight
    Pithing Needle
    Intuition
    Release the Ants

This build has the plan A of putting Omniscience in play and casting Emrakul, either having it or wishing for Eladamri. This list is also a bit different than the list I played in Indy. I will address some specific card choices below.

    Main Board:

Intuition – I know there’s some debate over this one. I find it to be good at filling the missing spot for the combo or tutoring a FoW when you need it. The card is flexible at the cost of speed, but I find it is worth it. I played 2 main at one point but I think that was too many.

Impulse – Again this is not an auto include. I needed a 2-drop for Firemind especially once I added the Release the Ants kill. Overall, the card isn’t stellar but it can reset Brainstorm/Top if you can’t shuffle, and it digs 4 deep for a combo piece or counter when you need it. It’s also the best cantrip once Omni is down.

A quick aside about Release the Ants: I added this because of Surgical Extraction. I was Thoughtseized, my opponent took Emrakul, then Surgicaled with Emrakul’s trigger on the stack. In my build, I was stone dead at that point. RtA can get around that. This isn’t the typical RtA build with ETI and Dream Halls. RtA also provides a low resource way to win. Sometimes I do my thing and all I have is a wish left, which can of course get Emrakul, but sometimes that isn’t enough if your life is low enough and they have more than 6 permanents or they have a nice hate card like Ensnaring Bridge. This can also win with a troublesome trigger on the stack from their Show and Tell permanent (i.e. Venser, Clique, Ashen Rider, etc.) where wishing for Trickbind with no other cards doesn’t accomplish much.
Wish -> Firemind -> Get BS, Impulse, Wish -> Cast Impulse to find biggest CMC -> BS it on top -> Wish for RtA -> Get em

Sensei’s Divining Top – This is a very recent include which started as a 1-of but increased to 2. This isn’t the card you want against decks that can’t interact with you, but those matches are pretty easy anyway. This is the card you want against the decks that interact a lot. The card selection can help you recover from discard, although Hymn is brutal and you should probably counter it. Top also plays into the instant speed nature of the deck, because you tend to leave mana up against interactive decks instead of tapping out for cantrips. In matchups where you can’t just go for it, which is a decent chunk of the meta, Top plays the long game very well.

Jace, the Mind Sculptor – This little guy started as a 1-of and I honestly played him because I traded for one and never had the privilege of casting him previously in Legacy. He is now a 2-of and I would side a 3rd if I could find room. JtMS is just amazing. He bridges the game from early stage cantripping for combo to mid-game if you are unable to assemble. He is very hard for most opponents to deal with and quickly takes over the game. He is also the most important card in what I have found to be the hardest matchup, Reanimator.

A quick aside about Reanimator: Playing the deck up to this point, I have found Reanimator to be almost unwinnable with the Show and Tell plan. Reanimator is faster than you and Daze/Thoughtseize are brutal when you’re trying to “race”. Even if you win the “race” you might lose to a Show and Telled Ashen Rider. So, I have adopted the SB plan of taking out Show and Tells and Wishes, and bringing in all relevant SB cards and playing control until you can hard cast Omniscience. This probably sounds insane, but it makes the Post-board games 50/50 instead of unwinnable. (I’m exaggerating but going on the Show and Tell plan feels like 90/10 or worse). Jace and Top both contribute very strongly to this plan.

Boseiju – Miracles. Miracles can be rough, but they give you tons of time to sculpt Show and Tell -> Omni -> Emrakul. If you can hide behind Boseiju, then they can really only put in Venser or Clique off of Show and Tell, at which point you can wish for Trickbind and you have all of your counters to fight over the wish. Boseiju is as close to unbeatable for Miracles as you can get which feels really nice at a time when Miracles is the most played deck.

    Side Board:

Boseiju – Miracles, Reanimator, Delver. When you need your S&T/Intuition/Cunning Wish to stick. Boseiju can also make FoW uncounterable in long matches.

    Defense Grid – Delver

Echoing Truth – I see Wipe Away often, which I understand is uncounterable, but I don’t find that to be super relevant. I like ET because it can bounce multiple Bridges, which is not uncommon. ET also provides an out to a fast Empty the Warrens. I’ve also used it to bounce multiple O-Rings, but that’s pretty corner case.

Flusterstorm – I side this in a lot. In any counter war this can be a trump. I leave it in the board against ANT. I find I take a control plan against ANT (similar to Reanimator) where I just try to stop them every time until I eventually find the win. Having Wishable answers promotes this plan.

Mindbreak Trap – I only bring this in against Reaminator for counter wars, otherwise it sits in the board for ANT or corner cases when I have a wish and my opponent has cast 3 spells.

Ravenous Trap – I bring this in against Reanimator. If you get this off in response to a reanimate spell it can be crushing. Sometimes they play Careful Study or have to fetch mid counter war, or you just let counters resolve until it is live. It becomes live against them often enough. I Wish for it versus Dredge, but I have found that matchup to be very tricky and I would gladly listen to any advice about it.

Submerge – I’ve never brought this in. I’ve wished for it against Infect and Lands.

Noxious Revival – I bring it in against Reanimator. Lejay convinced me that the ability to recover from discard outweighs extracting with Surgical.

Pithing Needle – Miracles for Top (Be sure to side yours out if you have them!!). Maybe Lili if you’re playing against a rather oppressive attrition deck. This may need to go since I run my own Tops and JtMS, both of which are great targets, and Boseiju is such a hoser against Miracles. PN is also good against lands, but that matchup is not as bad as I once thought.

Intuition – I’ve read many arguments that Wishing for this is just too slow. I agree it is very slow but outs are outs, and I don’t think giving up a sideboard slot for a decent out is too demanding. I usually bring it in against decks that have not targets for Spell Pierce or Flusterstorm.

I appreciate any and all constructive feedback. Like I said previously I just want to play the best version of the deck for the given meta. I’m not a professional primer writer by any means, so this is not meant to replace the excellent job done by Lejay. These are just my thoughts that I’d like to bounce off of the community. I’ve heard people say that this isn’t a deck post-Dig Through Time and I just tell them they’re wrong. Everyone lost Dig Through Time so we’re in a state of parity. When I play this deck, I feel like I have a legitimate shot against anyone. I can’t wait to get some feedback. Thanks for reading!

    Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell

First of, I assume that you're playing 19 lands and not 17. Your list looks decent, but it does have some odd numbers (2 impulse, 2 top, 2 jace).
    1) I don't like playing less than 4 preordain, even if you ARE playing tops. I do see your arguments for the replacements, but I would still consider maybe cutting an impulse/top/jace.
    2) I would play more Pierce/Fluster over the counterspell. We spend a lot of time casting cantrips, and we'll rarely have two mana open. There are also very, very few things that counterspell can/needs to answer that pierce/fluster can't, especially game 1. Having more Flusters will also improve your matchups against storm/reanimator/discard heavy decks.
    3) In order to consistently beat reanimator and other fast combo decks, I chose a long time (years) ago to cut Cunning Wish completely from the deck (I seem to be the only one). This opens up all 15 slots in the board, which means you can start playing actual hate (discard, extraction, grafedigger etc.) It also improves your miracles matchup because you play more Emrakuls. This is obviously a different build than what you're working on, but just thought I'd throw it in there. Here's and old list from a 99-man tournament: http://mtgpulse.com/event/21927#306637

    Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell

Yeah I have 4 Ancient Tomb. I edited the original post.
    1) I don't love preordain. It's the weakest cantrip and it is the worst cantrip post-Omni, which is relevant because sometimes you do your thing and if you had to fight a counter war you may only be left with a cantrip. I think I will cut a top. After the post, I realized that Dream Halls is a slightly alternative enabler that is also strong against Reanimator because it lets me do my thing without enabling them due to their sorcery speedness. So, I think I will cut the SDT for a Dream Halls.
    2) I agree on the counterspell. It feels clunky. It was a holdover from when I need a 2-drop for Firemind's Foresight so that I don't give away value but Impulse fills that role now. I think I'll go with a 2nd Pierce over a 2nd Fluster main because Pierce hits Counterbalance, Chalice, Lili, Jace, LED, Vial (not that it's relevant but both are dead versus D&T otherwise), Sneak Attack and probably others that I'm missing.
    3) I really like the Wish Plan since the crux of my deck is Omniscience. However, against Reanimator I cut 4 Show and Tell and 3 Cunning Wish and bring in all of the relevant sideboard cards.
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I probably would not have so closely considered the Counterspell switch which I think is a definite upgrade.

I looked at your list. How do you feel about 3 Intuition. I really like the card. I tried 2 main but I felt like I saw it too often, but the card is very flexible so I may have been misjudging it. Do you think Xantid Swarm and Boseiju is redundant? I really like being mono color and immune to Wasteland. I also like Ancient Tomb better than City of Traitors because it sticks around but our builds are a bit different. Yours tends more towards the combo and I've leaned a little more towards a combo-control hybrid. Have you tried JtMS?

    Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell

Hi OmniTellers, touching base with my developing thoughts on my version of the deck. Here's my list for reference:

    4 Show and Tell
    4 Omniscience
    4 Enter the Infinite
    4 Cunning Wish
    4 Dream Halls
    1 Intuition
    1 Trickbind
    4 Brainstorm
    4 Ponder
    4 Preordain
    4 Force of Will
    2 Spell Pierce
    1 Flusterstorm
    7 Island
    1 Underground Sea
    3 Flooded Strand
    4 Polluted Delta
    4 Ancient Tomb

    1 Laboratory Maniac
    1 Research//Development
    1 Firemind's Foresight
    1 Intuition
    1 Wipe Away
    1 Trickbind
    1 Slaughter Pact
    1 Pact of Negation
    2Thoughtseize
    2 Duress
    2 Toxic Deluge
    1 Swamp

In preparation for GP Prague I wanted to write about some of the more common matchups and my experience against them and ask fellow members for comment.

Miracles: the problem card is /REB/Pyroblast, and then inevitably Snapcaster Mage flashing back REB/Pyroblast. When they find a Top T1-3 I usually can't win this matchup. However, if they don't hit the Top, I can usually win. So I guess that Top+Pyroblast are the keys here. Does this reflect the experience of others? From my board I bring Thoughtseize and Duress to take the Pyroblasts/Snapcasters, but the problematic interaction is that Snapcaster can just flashback the spell I've taken.

Shardlesss BUG: I intend no disrespect to the deck, because it's likely top 3 in the format, but I find this matchup very favourable for me. Preboard they have 3-4 Force of Will as counterspells, and a limited amount of hand disruption in some combination of Thoughtseize and Hymn to Tourach. If you can combo and have a counterspell, you will almost certainly win because the probability of them having double FoW is incredibly low. If the hit you with hand disruption, the deck's redundancy allows you to quickly rebuild. Indeed, with Thoughtseize, it often presents them with a situation where the best choice is not to take you off the combo, but to simply slow you down as much as they can (hands like Dream Halls, Omniscience, Cunning Wish, and Enter the Infinite, for example). Postboard, they're generally not bringing in counterspells, instead focusing on creature-based disruption (Meddling Mage and Vendillion Clique), additional hand disruption (Duress and Thoughtseize), and incidental hate (Golgari Charm and Surgical Extraction). From my board I have two Toxic Deluge and a Swamp, which I simply find with my cantrip cartel and use to punish them for inevitably overextending on the board, and take my time to go off.

BUG Delver: This version of BUG is a little more difficult than Shardless, but still favourable because they don't have Pyroblast. Postboard they bring additional counterspells rather than creatures, which can be combated through my own discard. Duress especially does a lot of work in this matchup, because it takes Flusterstorm (the most dangerous counterspell they bring to the fight) and allows you to use your Ancient Tombs to play around their Dazes and Spell Pierces on the combo turn and save your own Force of Will for theirs. Of course, incidental hate such as Golgari Charm and Surgical Extraction needs to be considered, but it's rarely relevant. If you're worried about GCharm, just create a hand that has two of a combination of Omni and Dream Halls, and once you've got one on the board, cast the other first.

Grixis Delver: This is challenging because of REB/Pyroblast, Cabal Therapy+Tokens, and clock (Delver+Lightning Bolt). I actually don't consider this matchup favourable because you usually have a turn less than against BUG Delver to set up and they are attacking you with two weapons (discard and counterspells) while exploiting their quick clock to force you to combo into their soft counterspells. Postboard, however, Toxic Deluge is key to buy yourself some time once they've extended on the Board (usually DRS, Delver, and Young Pyromancer) and are then digging for Therapies and counters. Your postboard discard will again take Flusterstorm and allow your Ancient Tombs to pay for their taxing counterspells.

RUG Delver: This is easier than Grixis Delver (no discard) but harder than BUG Delver (quicker clock and more counterspells, plus Stifle). However, I still consider this matchup slighly in our favour because of their unilateral counterspell-based line of attack pre-board and limited expansion of their strategy postboard (usually more counterspells but the odd VClique and artifact/enchantment destruction spell will occasionally present itself).

Storm: Favourable. People will question me, but I've tested the matchup multiple times with my list and the combination of Force of Will, Pierce, and Flusterstorm preboard, discard postboard, and a powerful cantrip suite to find them makes us a nightmare for them. To combat us they only have discard and speed, and Spell Pierce takes care of the former and FoW the latter.

Infect: Unknown. I simply haven't played enough of this to comment.

Eldrazi: coinflip. Either they have two or more of Chalice/Thorn/Thought-Knot Seer or you win.

Elves: favourable. Your counterspells stop their Glimpses and Natural Orders preboard, and your discard takes them postboard. Their dorks aren't quick enough postboard to kill you before you can combo. But watch out for Krosan Grip, it will ruin your day. Again, use the double-enchantment strategy if at all possible.

    I would love your feedback!

    1) I assume you're playing 4 Delta in order to fetch the basic swamp in the board. That leaves you with only five black sources which is simply not enough against the matchups where discard comes in, so I would definitely play at least one U. Sea main.
    2) Playing Boseiju improves the miracles matchup soooo much. Some play 2-3 in the SB, some play 1 main, either way it's a must imo.
    3) One way to beat the Snap -> pyro/reb against miracles is to play more Emrakuls, but that requires you to play a different version of the deck. I think you're fine discarding and having wish ready, but it can be difficult.
4). I would always play Release the Ants over Maniac, since we spend one less card in the board AND we can kill at instant speed (against a snapcaster->reb for example).
    5) I don't like playing Trickbind main, especially since you already have access to one in the board. I would recommend Impulse or Split Decision, since they're so much better in a vacuum and great when comboing off.

    1) Intuition represents any combo peace unlike C. Wish, so you're essentially playing seven copies of everything. It DOES open itself up to Extraction/Extirpate and is therefore sided out in the matchups where that's relevant. The reason people aren't playing more than one is simply because the deck becomes way too clunky with that many 3-drops. So if you stick with C. Wish (which I assume you will) don't play more than one.
    2) Xantid Swarm and Boseiju come in against different decks. Swarm against delver (boseiju is horrible against fast waste decks) and boseiju against miracles.
    3) Atm I'm playing a 2-2 split between tomb and city. I've had an equal amount of situations come up where I wanted one over the other. Many play 4 city and I can't even say that that's wrong. I would even argue that your list is even MORE incentivized to play CoT, as it fits better in a controlling shell. Lejay goes into detail about this in the primer.

    Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell

    KjU, thanks for the feedback.

I did forget to include my Underground Sea and set of Polluted Delta in the maindeck. I corrected my post.

I will replace one Island with a Boseiju and test further. Thank you for the suggestion. The one copy might give me the edge I need. If that doesn't work, I'll try going to 3 discard postboard and putting another one in the board. Against combo, 4 FoW, 2 Pierce, 1 Fluster, and 3 discard is still pretty good with the 12 cantrips.

I understand Emrakul is a good way to beat SCM into REB/Pyro, but I really prefer LabMan.

LabMan takes two slots in the board: LabMan and R&D. Release the Ants takes the same amount of slots because you're running Emrakul: RtI and Eladamiri's Call. My feeling is that LabMan is still the more resilient kill. And it's my second favourite card ever printed after Necrotic Ooze, so I can't help but be biased in that regard.

Trickbind main serves a specific purpose, developed (I believe) by emidln. If you SnT in an Omni and they put in something with an EtB ability to destroy it, if you have a Cunning Wish in hand you can deal with it and still win afterwards. Cunning Wish for Firemind's Foresight, Firemind's Foresight for Intuition, Trickbind, and Brainstorm, Trickbind the offending trigger, then Intuition for three EtI and win. It's very much intended to deal with Death & Taxes, of which I expect there will be a great deal at GP Prague. So I'd rather it stay, at this stage, pending further meta development. I appreciate Impulse is excellent, though, but it doesn't give you that important out.

EDIT: I just read the new DTB thread. As Eldrazi is a thing, I think the Flusterstorm in the main ought to become a third Spell Pierce, to maximise outs against Chalice and Thorn.

Release the Ants doesn't require you to play Eladamri's Call. Some people just choose to do that cause it's good against Thalia. I would also argue that Release is a more resilient kill because you can win at instant speed and therefore don't need Trickbind at all. If Labman is a favorite of yours than you're not gonna listen to me anyways :P

    .
Once again if you play Release you can just win at instant speed. Labman is the only reason you need a Trickbind to resolve. Split Decision does the same thing: Wish-->Firemind for Split Decision, Wish, BS-->Wish-->copy wish-->get Trickbind and whatever you need to win (Intuition/Call).

Congrats and condolences to @sillysam71 on getting 9th with UB Omni at this weekend's SCG Classic.

Looks like a deck list error for SCG with 61 cards, likely they added an extra LDV.

I'm considering this list for the upcoming Fire and Dice 1K this weekend and would love to hear from the the pilot on what the extra card was and ideally a tournament write up! I think this is a very slick take on Omni-Tell and love the black for discard + LDV.

When you're using RtA as a kill, you need to be able to win the clash. What's usually going on top of your library for that purpose after you drop Omniscience and how do you get it there? I presume SnT into Omni with Emrakul/Omni in hand plus Cunning Wish into Foresight into Wish, 2CMC, BS to BS to Omni/Emrakul onto the top? (Bear with me, I don't play the RtI kill and therefore have little experience with it).

    Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell

Hey guys, I kept some rough notes, so here's what I can recall from them.

    The list:

    Omni-Tell 9th Place
    Sam Krohlow
    SCG Legacy Classic 4.17.16
    Columbus, OH

    4 Omniscience
    4 Preordain
    2 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
    4 Ponder
    4 Thoughtseize
    2 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
    1 Sensei's Divining Top
    4 Polluted Delta
    4 Flooded Strand
    4 Cunning Wish
    1 Swamp
    5 Island
    2 Daze
    4 Brainstorm
    4 Show and Tell
    2 Ancient Tomb
3 Lim-Dul's Vault (SCG put 4, which is an error)
    4 Force of Will
    2 Underground Sea

    Sideboard
    1 Toxic Deluge
    1 Firemind's Foresight
    1 Flusterstorm
    1 Noxious Revival
    1 Ravenous Trap
    1 Release the Ants
    1 Slaughter Pact
    1 Pact of Negation
    1 Trickbind
    1 Wipe Away
    1 Engineered Explosives
    1 Echoing Truth
    1 Eladamri's Call
    1 Rushing River
    1 Rebuild

I've been running different builds of Omni-Tell for awhile now. Almost all Ub for the last year. After discussing with emidln, this is what I settled on, which is very similar to a list I recently played at a local event.

I live here in Columbus, so I was out the day before day drinking in the beautiful weather with the good intention of going home at a decent time to finish building the deck. That didn't happen and I ended up finishing it at 3am. Woke up hungover and walked to the convention center the next morning and sign up right as the player meeting is starting. Scrambled to fill out my decklist at the last table along with another guy, then off to round 1. My notes are a little rough, mostly life totals, but I remember a decent amount of the day.

    Round 1: Jordan-TES
G1: My sheet has life totals as 20/20. I think I go first to play a land and pass. He goes all in on BW beaking LED and I have the force. He scoops them up.
G2: He eventually gets I think 16 goblins. I show and tell Emrakul into play on my turn and he drops Xantid Swarm. I block one goblin dropping to 5, then I cunning wish for slauter pact on my turn and win since he was down to 14.

    1-0, 2-0

    Round 2: Nick-Shardless
G1: I think this game was mostly deathrite and shardless beats to get me down to 8 where I then stabilize and combo off.
G2: Pretty sure he started with deathrite, then shardless followed by 2 goyfs and I have a slow hand, he gets there.
G3: I mulled to 6. He got me down to 9, but I then combo off. Don't remember much details.

    2-0, 4-1

Round 3: Patrick Tierney- Ant (He ends up finishing 7th)
G1: Not sure what happened, but I lost. I Thoughtseized him at some point and wrote down Strand, PiF, Pond, DPetition, Probe, Therapy. I think he got a brainstorm and found mana.
G2: Pretty sure we tore each others hands apart with discard. I eventually was able to float the combo pieces with cantrips and LDV for the last one. I drew it, tapped all 3 mana for show and tell, and proceeded to get blown out by Flusterstorm. WOrst part, I had no idea what the top 4 cards of my library were. I was already in auto-pilot win mode and didn't pay attention to them. This game was probably my biggest play mistake of the tournament. He won shortly after.

    2-1, 4-3

Round 4: Shardless-forgot to write his name down.
G1: I led with island top, go. He got super excited and thought I might be playing Doomsday. lol Not a bad read. That's my second deck of choice. I think I Dazed the goyf he cascaded into. He Hymned me at some point, but it didn't do much. Top was just super strong and got me there.
G2: He mulled to either 4 or 5 and didn't have a land drop for the first couple turns. Unfortunately for him, wasn't much of a game.

    3-1, 6-3

    Round 5: Burn-Eric Gustafson
G1: I think he mulled G1. His hand was kind of slow, but got a 3rd turn eidelon. LDV in response for the last piece, then I just comboed though it using Call fro Emrakul.
G2: Think he started out Eidelon and Pyrostatic Pillar. I tried to combo and he had Pyroblast. My life was too low at this point.
G3: Maybe he mulliganed? I countered an Eidelon on his second turn and then cast LDV. Played show on my turn to see a 2nd Eidelon. Good thing I countered the first one. Call Emrakul again.

    4-1, 8-4

    Round 6: Caleb Sherer-Storm
G1: I'm almost positive he's on storm and I'm not wrong. This game was super tough and long. He was able to get a somewhat early Empty off for a handful of goblins, but I cast Wish on his end step and got Echoing Truth which I cast on my turn. It was a durdle fest after that, but I soon found top and my cards kept getting better than his. He cast infernal as his only card. I would thoughtseize and grab his ad nauseam. A lot of my draws were pretty perfectly timed and he kept reminding me how lucky I was. I eventually won like 10 turns later, but it was not easy.
G2: Same old discard game took place here. He was short on mana so I kept taking LED's and such. At one point he cast empty and I Trickbind it. (Mise lol) He flashes back Therapy and passes. This game took forever as well. I have my life total going all the way down from 15 to 4 in increments of one from the goblin token and fetches as well as a LDV that found show, omni, ponder. I drew Omni, passed, he passed back, I showed in Omni hoping he'd go for Empty and I'd get there with the ponder next turn. He is able to BW for a PiF with half his deck in his GY and wins with Tendrils.
G3: I think we only had 9 minutes left for this game. A bunch of discard happened. I Thoughtseize him at some point and it's LED, 2 BW, Empty. I take the LED. I counter one BW, and the other goes to get Thoughtseize, but he forgot to side it back out from the previous game. Soon after, he Empty's for like 8 goblins from a petal and 2 LED's and while I have Force, 3 Wish in hand. He casts Therapy and I Wish for Echoing Truth again to bounce them all. Once we go into turns, I top deck my EE that I sided in and take out his two LED's to pretty much guarantee I can't lose, even though I can't win at this point. We end in a draw even though we both played super fast all 3 games. It was pretty intense.

    4-1-1, 8-5-1

Round 7: Ian-Ant (I know him from local vintage tournaments around Cleveland)
G1: I thoughtseized him and left him with Dark Rit, Rain of Filth, Tendrils, and Ad Naus. I think I took his discard spell. He ends up Ad Nausing on the end of his turn in response to my LDV to refuel his hand. Doesn't matter, I win on my turn.
G2: I thoughtseize to leave him with Swamp, Cabal Rit, Brainstorm, Chain of Vapor, Ponder. Might've took his tutor. He didn't have much interaction and I won soon after.

    5-1-1, 10-5-1

    Round 8: Brian Boss-Junk
G1: I go fetch, island, ponder. I think there was a combo piece and I already have Omni. He leads fetch, Scrub, Therapy and misses naming brainstorm. I play a land and pass. He plays GSZ for dryad arbor and passes. I LDV on his end step and cover him in ants on my turn.
G2: He therapy's naming omni this time. Miss. I ponder and see two combo pieces. He plays a goyf. I show and tell with omni, LDV, Brainstorm in my hand, which he has already seen. He drops canonist. ugh. I pass. He swings and passes back. I LDV on his end step and find an emrakul right away and leave it on top. He then Surgical's my preordain in my yard. Fuck. Shuffle Emrakul away. This is why he named Omni on his first therapy. I untap, knock on my deck, lift the card high up and slam down Emrakul. lol Better lucky than good sometimes I guess. lol

    6-1-1, 12-5-1

At this point, the top 3 tables had drawn, and I was on the 6th table with Joe Lossett winning the table ahead of me. They take my deck box and I wait. During top 8 announcement, I think the head judge said that there were 15 people with 19 points and that only 3 would get in the last spots. I ended up being the 4th. :/ Oh well, this meant I got to go eat and hang out with some new and old friends.

The list felt solid all day, and by solid, I mean super powerful. LDV was an all star. I cast it way more than I mentioned above. It always found whatever card I was missing and people never countered it. I think I only lost 1 or 2 life from it on average throughout the day, with the card I wanted frequently being in the top 5. Thoughtseize was also amazing, especially against storm since you could use it before they could discard it, unlike counters. I highly recommend the black splash. I know I will be playing it it the future.

Looking back, I never Wished for Noxious Revival throughout the tournament. Seeing how much discard I faced, I feel like I may have missed out on a win by taking that line on my opponents end step. I will be looking out for this more in the future.

Pandaman: LDV makes winning the clash easy. After showing in Omni, Cunning Wish for Firemind's Foresight. With it, get Cunning Wish, LDV, Brainstorm. LDV until you find an Omni or Emrakul and put it on the top (You can also do this to find a cunning wish and brainstorm into it to have access to two cunning wishes, since you just tutored for the other. This is good when you need to bounce something). Then you just grab RtA with your wish and clash away.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

    Thanks,

Actually I have a question. As I have never played with my whole side as a 1-offs I would like to ask you about your siding in those matchups you mentioned. How do you side with a sideboard like this (in other matchups too)? Thx in advance

Sure. Versus storm decks, I typically sided in Flusterstorm, Trickbind, and EE, while siding out the 2 Boseiju and maybe a Preordain. I wanted Flusterstorm and Trickbind in the main to help make sure I didn't lose early, since we only have a couple counters they have to play through if they have a good fast hand. In those situations I wouldn't have time to Wish for them anyway. I brought in EE for two reasons. The main being that they typically played Empty the Warrens and I could LDV for it as an out if I needed to. The other for their artifacts. Since we play discard, storm will often drop their LED's early to protect them. I wanted to punish that.

Against Shardless BUG, I believe I brought in Flusterstorm and Toxic Deluge, siding out 1 Boseiju since they don't have a lot of countermagic, and maybe a Preordain. Flusterstorm was mainly meant to hedge against Hymn to Tourach and Ancestral Visions, and Deluge in case they have a fast clock, I could reset the board and give myself a lot of time to set up. I didn't cast or draw Deluge all day, so can't say whether or not that's right.

For Burn, I think I only brought in a Flusterstorm and a Rushing River, maybe Deluge. Boseiju likely came out, as it always did when they didn't play counters. Whenever I sided in a bounce spell, it was typically just one, and whichever one was better to actually draw. Thus, I would side in Wipe Away when I needed something to resolve like against Miracles, since if Cunning Wish will resolve against them, River would likely resolve as well. Rushing River was brought in when I wasn't worrying about it resolving and there could be potentially more value.

For Junk I think I brought in EE, Deluge, Rushing River, and maybe Flusterstorm since he was playing discard. EE for potential permanent hate cards like spheres or canonist. Deluge for a fast clock. River to hit multiple hate cards.

On a side note, I just wanted to talk up LDV a little more in this deck. It makes Firemind's Foresight one of the best cards in your sideboard. Being able to turn 1 Cunning Wish into 2 is HUGE for getting through hate. For example, if your opponent has a Leyline of Sanctity out, and when you Show and Tell in Omni they drop a Detention Sphere, you can use it to turn 1 Cunning Wish into 2 to get both a bounce spell and RtA for the win. Another option being Trickbind for the Dsphere and then getting Eladamri's Call to attack with Emrakul through the Leyline if you can't find a high mana spell in the same 5 as the Cunning Wish you LDV'd for. Emidln knows more of these scenarios than I do, but I'm a firm believer in playing the card after this tournament. Not to mention having 4 Thoughtseize. I never want to play Probe in this deck again.

    Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell

    Firemind's Foresight lines:

When you Wish->FF, you get BS, LDV, Wish #2. You then cast LDV. What you're looking for depends on the situation (how much life you have, if they have anything on the stack). Here are the three most common options:

    1) LDV for Wish #3, BS into Wish #3, Wish for Call + Wish, Call For Emrkaul, now you have Emrakul + Wish #3 in hand. You can Emrakul and then use your spare wish to find Rushing River / Trickbind / Noxious Revival for Call (to get the 2nd Emrakul and take 2 attacks in a row)
    2) LDV for Emrakul, Wish for RtA, Cover them in Ants. If they survive, Brainstorm into Emrakul.
    3) LDV for Emrakul, BS into Emrakul, Cast Emrkaul. Wish for Noxious Revival, Revival on Call. Take your extra turn and draw Call, attack for 15, call for Emrakul #2, cast Emrakul #2, take another turn to attack for another 15.
    4) LDV for Omni, Wish for RtA, cover them in Ants.

What you end up doing depends on how much life you can afford to pay and if they have something threatening in play or on the stack. If you have spare cards in hand, the rest of the LDV pile might matter, as you'll be able to up to 3 cards. This could matter if you're low on life and have a trigger on the stack, such that you can find a BS + Wish, use the BS in hand to draw BS + Wish, putting back something spare, and then have BS, Wish, Wish. This would let you Call for Emrakul, BS Emrakul to the top, then Wish->RtA.

The third option ends up being key when dealing with a bunch of leylines, since it lets you make them sac 12 and take 30 without targeting.

In some situations, you have sided in Trickbind and you can find that with Firemind's Foresight. In general, if Trickbind is good in the matchup, you'd rather side it in because you end up with 5 copies via Trickbind plus 4 Wish->FF->Trickbind.

If I have life to spare and am not in danger of dying to say, a Lightning Bolt, I'll always cast LDV before Wish or Brainstorm.

    Sideboarding and Play advice:

Against Burn, the only real cards tend to be Pyroblast and Eidolon. They won't often have both, and if you have Force, Thoughtseize, or Daze, you hit the first one that you see (assuming their Pyroblast only targets SnT or Omni, if they want to counter a Brainstorm or something, use your judgement). Even if they have Eidolon, you can often beat it by just having Emrakul or Wish->Call->Emrakul. We often don't beat the 2nd Eidolon effect (Pyrostatic Pillar), and if they open Goblin Guide they can race you a small percentage of the time. This matchup feels closer than it has historically been for me (very favorable).

Against Loam, do not get Choke'd. This is almost always how you lose. Sometimes they have KGrip, and their prison pieces largely don't matter besides Choke (The Sphere won't kill you, the Sphere when your Islands don't untap kills you). If you defend against Choke and Marit Lage, their deck is mostly garbage against you. Side out Boseiju for bounce spells, fetch basics, and don't tap out under Spheres if you can avoid it. If your wish isn't going to win the game, cycle it on their end step for a bounce spell. Black variants with Raven's crime are the scariest, but these aren't seen that much. You are absurdly high percentage in g1, and should be favored postboard with good play.

Against Miracles, look for Boseiju and LDV->Boseiju. It's not guaranteed to kill them (it's slow to protect everything if you don't have Emrakul), but it's very high percentage. If you can get Omni into play, their countermagic might not even matter vs your free spells. Take your time, and it's difficult to lose 2/3. You want EE and Wipe Away in the deck here, as both can deal with Canonist or Counterbalance.

Against Delver, Boseiju isn't that great unless you can bait out their first Wasteland. Even if you can do that, they sometimes have a second, and that is very slow. You probably want to side in Flusterstorm, and Daze tends to be at its worst against Daze decks. EE and Toxic Deluge are both excellent against Delver, as they have to spend a lot of effort fighting over your removal, lest they give you 12 turns to setup. Red Delver is harder than other Delvers, and slightly unfavorable. I've found BUG Delver to be favorable.

With Dazes in the deck, the combo pseudo-mirror suffers. Daze is awful against ANT, particularly compared to Flusterstorms. I've found the matchup to be coin flippy, with ANT and TES slightly favored. It was coin flippy, but slightly favorable when we ran more Flusterstorms. Reanimator suffers as well, but not as much (they have very little in the way of ability to evade Daze), but our Reanimator matchup is still better than other SnT decks. Casting SnT with Emrakul in hand (not necessarily Omni) is key. You end up playing a very controlling game against them, and will necessarily lose some reasonable percentage of the time when they can get an early Entomb and defend their reanimation spell with a Daze. If ANT is 45/55, Reanimator feels closer to 40/60 in their favor. You side in Flusterstorm and Trickbind in each matchup. Trickbind is useful to counter Griselbrand activations (often providing you a short window with which to combo). I don't like EE against Storm as I'm not that interested in fighting a resource war with them, given their ability to punch out of holes with just a Ritual and an Ad Nauseam or Past in Flames.

MUD is easier to beat than Eldrazi (their clock is slower, and thus all you really worry about are their hands with multiple sol lands + chalice). Chalice alone won't always even slow us down, let alone beat us. MUD and Eldrazi can both counter sorceries now, which sours what was becoming a favorable matchup. Eldrazi is worse than MUD, something of a 40/60 matchup. MUD is a coin flip. You'll want EE and Rushing River in the deck and wishable mass bounce. If you play both H.Recall and Rebuild, Rebuild comes in while H.Recall stays in the board.

    Regarding Lim-Dul's Vault:

Be mindful of your deck size. Casting LDV with a high life total and a deck size that isn't divisible by 5 is extremely powerful. You can bridge neighboring stacks together if you play your cards correctly.

When low on resources in a grindfest, don't be afraid to cast LDV for 0-2 life just to find some better cards. If the important part is not losing, finding a Brainstorm, disruption spell, and a fetch can be huge.

A quick note for those few still playing around with Dream Halls, the latest MODO patch bugged it. It appears you can no longer use it to cast spells.
