Slushy (Brainfreeze Storm)

A list I have been having fun with. It's really rough right now, but a resolved brainfreeze targeting yourself is generally good game. If anyone knows how to generate mana while I mill myself out with brainfreeze that'd be great appreciated. I was considering (and still am) playing 3 maindeck pyromancer's ascension for the long game/getting past thalia. It allows for broken lines such as rite of flaming for 5 mana, especially if you have already brainfreezed yourself once.

Against slower decks you can just mill like 20-25 cards from your deck over a couple of turns and that should get you there. Partnering this with the ability to combo through countertop via brainfreeze and merchant scroll fetching flusterstorm or wipeaway.

The deck isn't particularly good yet, but it makes for an interesting thought experiment that brainfreeze is generally a better ad-naeseum if you target yourself. This deck rides the edge between belcher and TES in terms of glass-cannony, while having a little more long game than TES at the price of inconsistency in explosiveness due to the nature of merchant scroll vs infernal tutor. Because merchant scroll is usually cast the turn before you combo off it is definitely worse. BUT, if you can resolve merchant scroll you will end up winning.

I've gone through a couple versions. Here are the two I think people here will be most comfortable looking at. I had a U/G/R version that ran 4 regrowths and 3 pyromancers ascension in order to power a ton of brain freezes and get the deck to critical mass via chaining regrowth and LED with active pyromancer ascension, but decided that when I brainfreezed myself regrowth was usually a win more. I could be wrong though, and maybe the regrowth LED pyromancer version is honestly what the deck needs to really define itself as an archetype?

This was almost sort of a thing.

You might also dig around on the storm boards, I had a thread about a U/R/b storm deck in legacy (quite) a few years ago, unfortunately, despite intuition (intuition was good) and scroll being pretty sweet, it just wasn't better enough than other storm decks. It was fun though. Play enough blue and you get access to FoW and a bullet (that you can protect yourself with after flashing back PiF) Pact of Negation.
