Also been thinking about Eldritch Evolution.

Why not just use it as GSZ 5-8 that can grab non-green creatures?

    Turn 1 - Land - Mana Dork
    Turn 2 - Land - Evolution -> Magus of the Moon/TNN/Meddling Mage/etc?

    So:

    18 Lands
    4 GSZ
    4 Eldritch Evolution
    8 Mana Dorks
2 Toolbox cards for Evolution CMC 3 (Saccing Nobel/DRS)
2 Toolbox card for Evolution CMC 5 (saccing goyf/confidant?)
    4 Toolbox cards for GSZ
    4 Goyf
    10 Discard/Removal
    4 Confidant?

Given the current quality of the storytelling, I'm sure they would find a way to fuck it up.

Well, they could channel the mana of "insert plane here" with Nissa through Karn to fire off another Vindicate-tier blast, considering he's part of the Legacy Weapon that killed Yawgmoth. Don't jinx it.

Dork into T2 Magus sounds pretty strong IF Evolution resolves. Otherwise, it's just a huge waste of tempo and cards.

    Edit: New cards!

Brutality seems nice to me. Just about never dead.

Kill a DRS, discard their ancestral visions, discard fattie SeemsGood

At B it would've been definitely playable. At 1B it's fringe, but it's an interesting effect.

The Brutality is pretty good in 8-Rack in Modern.

Collective Brutality would be super interesting if you could pay to repeat modes as many times as you'd like. As it is, I'm not quite sure if "1B, Discard a card: semi-duress + creature kill" is worth it. Sort of double duty killing DRS/Teeg/Canonist + duress which is neat. Paying 2B for it under Thalia tax not as hot though, and the duress effect certainly less useful against DnT.

Edit: dang I didn't think of reanimator. But I guess the discard is part of the cost right? So they could activate DRS in response to eat the fatty you discarded

I kinda like the Mindbender against Sneak/Show!
    If only it had flash.

    Re: Eldritch Moon spoilers inbound

Listening to some Bowie on the way to work today, and it seemed weirdly appropriate for this set:

    Wake up you sleepy head
Put on some clothes, shake up your bed
Put another log on the fire for me
I've made some breakfast and coffee
Look out my window and what do I see
A crack in the sky and a hand reaching down to me
    All the nightmares came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay

    What are we coming to
No room for me, no fun for you
I think about a world to come
Where the books were found by the Golden ones
Written in pain, written in awe
By a puzzled man who questioned
    What we were here for
    All the strangers came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay

    Oh you Pretty Things
Don't you know you're driving your
    Mamas and Papas insane
    Oh you Pretty Things
Don't you know you're driving your
    Mamas and Papas insane
    Let me make it plain
You gotta make way for the Homo Superior

    Look out at your children
See their faces in golden rays
Don't kid yourself they belong to you
They're the start of a coming race
    The earth is a bitch
    We've finished our news
Homo Sapiens have outgrown their use
    All the strangers came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay
Maybe the superfriends can combine their powers to summon Ziggy, messenger of the Starman and his Martian spider army to defeat the Eldrazi.
I think the biggest thing is the deep seeded emotional understanding that the right play is the right play regardless of outcomes. The ability to make a decision 5 straight times, lose 5 times because of it, and still make it the 6th time if it's the right play. - Jon Finkel

You don't have to discard a card every time you play it, though. It's basically a charm with upside. Sometimes just having the extra ability to kill a DRS or Delver is enough, as is curving something like Thoughtseize into this against a deck like Storm.

The two-for-two aspect has a lot of use in Legacy though:

-Delver decks often have an x/2 and an instant/sorcery in hand
-Infect: Kill the elf/agent, take the pump spell
-Burn: Kill the Eidolon or whatever, lose no life or take a Fireblast
-Elves: Kill their first play, take their GSZ/Glimpse.

The big problem from my perspective is that it has limited utility against Miracles and Eldrazi, which are the two most popular decks in the format.

Seems like a fairly solid Reanimator card, though.

Depends. Discarding a Fatty to kill a DRS for example does not end well as the Fatty can still be removed with Brutality on the stack. Still a nice card

Certainly not, though discarding a fatty to remove permission doesn't sound too unattractive. Maybe clear out other hatebears?

EDIT: Also doesn't sound too bad against a DRS if it's sick, in fact that seems like a blowout. There's risk there, but that's a risky deck anyway :P

While all these new emerge Eldrazi seem pretty awful, each needs to be examined vs Gurmag/Tasigur/Mandrils, given their fake high cmcs and Emerge's cost discount. Definitely not eldrazi for the aggro deck with all that colored mana.

Remember that it's a cast trigger so this cards psuedo double duress will go through even if countered - which means that it will never be two for oned by a counter or removal. First of all if it gets countered, and you hit both targets that is a 2 for 3. You win card advantage. It will only get countered if the opponent only has one target in his hand - so then it is a 2 for 2. Not terrible. If it doesn't get countered - you remove the removal they have in their hand. . . and get a 8/8 out. I am not sure it will replace Endbringer in the colorless Eldrazi deck or if a new Eldrazi sub-version would include it, but it seems pretty decent - especially since Tomb of yawgmoth works well with Eye of Ugin - and the eldrazi you're most likely to sac is Matter Reshaper which draws you a card or puts one into play. All in all - it doesn't seem that awful.

It's so hard for 4 mana walkers to make a splash in Legacy, but this one I think has real potential to.

    Fixed.

And I agree. Especially once a friend pointed out that the +1 is combat damage in general and not to a player. And it works on defense.
