There's two blue mythics already. They print 2 mythic rares of each color, so Jace is locked out.

Speculation earlier in this thread said that they would use the updated ban-restricted announcement schedule to announce Jace was modern legal, and use MM17 to push him out. Unconfirmed reports that this led to price spiking and scarcity of Jace.

The WotC article about Damnation summarized that:

• WotC wanted it in FTV: Annhilation
• Another group wanted Damnation in a set (Magic 2015 ) so they took it out of FTV
• Design didn't catch that MonoBlack in Theros standard with Pack Rat, Thoughtseize, Monoblack Devotion etc would be good, so when that meta was being played out IRL they pulled Damnation out of M15's Future Future league.
• Design decided to waffle around and experiment with other types of board wipes, so they put Languish in Origins and pulled Damnation from there.
• With the unbanning of Bitterblossom, they put BB into MM15. They weren't sure of the repercussions so they pulled Damnation from there too.
• All the while, immense public pressure and outcry to reprint Damnation raged in their customer base. Then they just flat ignored it in other product until MM17.

If they can't figure out how to reprint "2BB Destroy all creatures", then there's no way they'll be able to coordinate the unbanning of Jace alongside a surprise reprinting of Jace. If they ever do, Jace will be an out of the blue unban and reprint awhile later.

I see, thanks. I totally agree and have been wanting a reprint for it too. Unbanning JTMS is a pipedream in Modern. The format is filled with bans.

Unless some big price hitters like liliana and goyf are included, this set seems low value. Its currently not competing with the original MM for sure.

Even using the inflated pre-release prices, and comparing the all NM cards on sale on MCM, MM2 is currently >10% under MM when it comes to the value of the top 10 expensive cards.

Turns out Entreat was indeed the other white mythic alongside Linvala.

White, Blue, and Red now have a miracle card as one of the two mythics. Makes me feel like Liliana isn't such a sure thing anymore with Griselbrand already the other black mythic. Feels like Tarmogoyf would be less likely too if one mythic is a miracle, they'd probably want the other to be something that hasn't been reprinted yet.

Temporal, Bonfire and Entreat were originally mythics, there aren't black or green mythic miracles.

Likewise! I'd be very surprised if Liliana isn't in the set, I think she'll be spoiled tomorrow (just a feeling). Goyf I'm still really unsure on, would be a welcome addition though.

When Eternal Masters was getting fully spoiled I had a shopping cart on Friday morning with 4x Rishadan Port; once I saw it wasn't in there I clicked BUY! to avoid a spike. I have a feeling I'll be doing the same for Lili if she isn't spoiled soon.
