So yeah, KC, Brandon, and I worked out a prize structure that should be very attractive to Legacy and Standard players alike. All for a mere $10 entry fee we're getting about $200 in prize support. And yes, as KC pointed out, you can choose to take store credit for 1st or 2nd if for some unknown reason you don't want Duals, Fetches, or Goyfs, oh my!

When other people do not assert themselves, they may still have something to be proud of, something that they believe is unrivalled, but it is just that they have not got the same vulgarity of throwing their weight about and imposing themselves and their beliefs on other people. - Dunduzu Kalui Chisiza

Several people at the tournament asked me what I was playing, so here is what I was playing.

    4 Nimble Mongoose
    4 Dark Confidant
    4 Tarmogoyf
    2 Psychatog

    4 Brainstorm
    4 Serum Visions
    4 Mental Note
    4 Force of Will
    3 Spell Snare
    3 Daze
    4 Ghastly Demise
    3 Duress

    4 Flooded Strand
    4 Polluted Delta
    4 Underground Sea
    4 Tropical Island
    1 Island

    Sideboard:
    2 Smother
    1 Duress
    3 Cabal Therapy
    3 Engineered Plague
    2 Krosan Grip
    2 Pithing Needle
    1 Blue Elemental Blast
    1 Hydroblast

I wouldn't recommend playing this exact list of cards, several things felt wrong (my hatred for Serum Visions is at an all time high.) However, the combination of Dark Confidant, Tarmogoyf, and Psychatog is very strong. The "threshold" aspects of the deck were the weak parts.

Anyways, my matches: lost to Gamekeeper, won against Affinity, won against UWBG Landstill, ID'd against Faerie Stompy, lost to Goblins in quarterfinals.

Congrats to whoever won, I did not stay long enough to find out.

    Top 8:

Christopher Walton - Salvagers Game VS Kacey Keel (Me) - 42 Land
Trevor Petrilli - Goblins (Green Splash) VS Paul Nicolo - UGb w/Psychotog
Mike Bradley - RG Beats w/Blood Moon in the board (I was terrified) VS Zachary Wallace - UGr Thresh
Josh Bettens - UGr Thresh VS Jeremy Rutherford - Faerie Stompy

    Top 4:

Sal Game VS UGr Thresh (Bettens)
    Goblins VS UGr Thresh (Wallace)

    Top 2:

    UGr Thresh (Bettens) VS Goblins

They split sort of. 1st and second basically both took the credit of $80 so it is like they drew. Instead the goblin player technically "conceded" but they did not actually play it out.

Great time. I think most everyone enjoyed themselves for the most part. Few things of note:

    - The goblins player did not lose a single game all day.
    - UGr (Bettens) was running Troll Ascetic
    - 42 Land conceded in the quarterfinals. We played 2 games after I gave my teamate (Chris) the match and I won game one and he won game 2...::shrug::

Finally thanks to eveyone for coming out and I may or may not write a report soon. I was very happy with my deck despite the fact that people think I took too long to tap my lands ::.

Stupid Goblins! They just never go away. I haven't seen them in a month and now two show up...right after I tell Vivec he doesn't need plagues in the side for this tourney.

It really shocks me sometimes that people are taking the store credit over ther prizes. We have to offer cards as prizes so that prospective participants know what kind of value they're playing for (no we havn't considered a cash prize). Pandemonium doe's have an incredible stock of cards and damn good prices too, so I guess I can kind of understand.
