As the title says, GYGO will be hosting a tournament for a Mox Sapphire (and other prizes).
Here's the info:
It's about time to start giving up some Power.
Starting August 8th, 2009, Get Your Game On is giving away one piece of power each month with tournaments using varying formats! From Vintage to Standard and everything in between!
We'll be starting with the Mox Sapphire in an all-out legacy battle on Saturday, August 8th at 1:00pm! Entry to the event is a sweet Andrew Jackson ($20). Registration for the event starts at 12:00, so please come early. If you've been with us for a party, you know we do it right! We plan on having a grill out back with burgers and dogs going all day long.
A more detailed prize structure is in the works for prizes for 2nd, 3rd, etc. However, a Mox Sapphire is promised as prize, in the following conditions. Heavy Play Condition Mox Sapphire for a turnout of less than 24 Players and a SP/Mint Condition Mox Sapphire for more!.
We'll see you there. Do your best, bring your worst.

I'm not organizing this tournament, and I'm just posting the info on behalf of the TO.
Feel free to ask any questions, though!
Attendance will be good for this. The weekly events on Wednesday nights regularly get around 20 people, so the turnout for this should be fantastic. This will be a good warm-up for the Legacy Champs the next weekend!
*edit* Here's a link to the Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/ev...d=105350694843
*edit 2* It will be 16 K, and Nate Poupard will be the head judge.

This is Saturday! There's sure to be a great turnout.
I hope to see everyone there!
I will be there sporting some awful deck. I have olny been to the Wed Night legacy events at this store, so i am looking forward to seeing maybe a larger turnout.

Will try to make it. Looking forward to slinging some legacy cards again.
I'll come but what about parking? those meters next to your store look like a haven for meter maids (also don't they have 2 hour limit or close to that?. are people in that neighborhood behind your store picky about parking spots?
The meters are free after 6pm. Otherwise, you can park on the streets behind the store. Don't park in any driveways or lots or you WILL get towed. They are fast as hell at that.

The meters by the store are 60 cents an hour.
I'll be showing up, and I haven't had any problems with the neighborhood, as long as you park in areas where it's allowed.
So this is over. . And i am not sure of every deck in the top 8.
32 players showed up
Top 4
1.Zoo
2.R/b Goblins
3.Affinity
4. burn
YEAH THHATS RIGHT SCREW BLUE!!
Even though the meta was flooded with CB/Top and Landstill.
I made the top 4 with the burn deck and to get there i played against
1.Goblins
2.burn
3.CB/Top
4.Landstill
5.Landstill
t8-Goblins

Made day 2 in GP columbus
Played Wishstill, did pretty terrible against Zoo/Loam. Overall 2-3 for the day. Not my best showing, but oh well.
Merfolk went 2-3. Ran into Goblins, of which there were 3 or 4 players. Then again there were 4 or so merfolk players too.
i over slept and didn't make it but knowing that there were 4 merfolk kinda makes me glade i saved my money now that i know that. (the one match up i suck at for some reason)
-If it needs a repair you have a problem, if I smash it, it's now fixed as you now don't have to repair it!-
I split in the top 4 with RGW Zoo.
Round 1: 2-0 against UW WishStill 1-0
Round 2: 2-0 against UWb WishStill 2-0
Round 3: 2-0 against UGW Threshold (old school...Mystic Enforcer and maindeck Meddling Mage. Also had CounterTop) 3-0
Round 4: ID with Aggro Loam 3-0-1
Round 5: 2-0 against Merfolk 4-0-1
Top 8: 2-0 against Canadian Threshold 5-0-1
My List:
Mono Red Aggro with Green and White Splash Suggested by Richard Franklin on 2009-08-08 as a Potential Deck for Legacy
by Richard Franklin
//Lands
4 Wooded Foothills
4 Windswept Heaths
1 Bloodstained Mire
3 Taiga
2 Plateau
1 Savannah
3 Horizon Canopy
1 Mountain
1 Plains
1 Forest
//Dudes
4 Kird Ape
4 Wild Nacatl
4 Grim Lavamancer
4 Qasali Pridemage
4 Tarmogoyf
2 Knight of the Reliquary
//Spells
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Path to Exile
3 Price of Progress
2 Sylvan Library
2 Lightning Helix
2 Fireblast
//Sideboard
SB: 3 Krosan Grips
SB: 2 Volcanic Fallout
SB: 2 Red Elemental Blast
SB: 2 Choke
SB: 2 Vexing Shusher
SB: 2 Sulfuric Vortex
SB: 2 Orim's Chant
This list is basically Alix Hatfield's deck from the SCG 5K and the 40 Duals tournament.
The metagame was like 60% Blue decks, but there was a ton of other stuff, as well. There was one awful Dragonstorm deck, but no other Combo.
*edit* I wasn't actually sure what I was gonna play until basically the night before. I hadn't played much Legacy since the GP. Thus, I didn't want to play CounterTop, which is what I usually played, since I'd be out of practice and I didn't want to deal with the mirror match. I was thinking about playing Combo, but I hate running decks where you basically flip a coin and your ability to outplay the opponent is pretty worthless. So, I decided to play Zoo, since I've had PTQ success with Creature decks. I felt that being able to be really aggressive and still outplay the opponent would be perfect.
*edit 2* Also, the Top 8 was something like:
2 Goblins
1 Affinity
1 Aggro Loam
1 Burn
1 Zoo
1 Canadian Threshold
1 Mystery Deck...the decklists will be posted shortly

I went 2-2 with Aggro Loam.
1-2 vs the most pimped out UGW Countertop deck I've ever seen. Foil Goyfs, Foil Counterbalances, beta duals. I didn't feel so bad, even getting CB-locked early.
2-0 vs UWb Wishstill - Wastelock.
2-0 vs Rgw GoyfSligh - Wastelock + dreams.
1-2 vs Merfolk - Punted game 2, he chained 3 standstills in game 3.
That was the weirdest thing though - if I had won my first match, I would have been playing against Aggro and non-blue decks at the top tables all day.
You leave the Paths, Fallouts and the Library at the store for me to pick up? I have this feeling that I'm going to be playing Zoo this week.
