They look unusually shiny, too. Is that just an artifact of the lighting?
The proper plural must be "hall of fames." You wouldn't say Halls & Oate, now, would you?
pretty sure it's just the lighting, they are passable, especially when sleeved. Here are the differences: it passes the bend test, but only a limited number of times, the tear test is like a half pass, there is blue, but the blue is a little too dark, these things don't matter though because no one will be bending and tearing your cards. The card stock is a little thinner, but it isn't significant and when sleeved and shuffled is indistinguishable. The corners are alpha corners though, and serious players, especially people who have been playing for more than a decade might notice that stuff, as would someone who knew the corners were wrong and were specifically looking for flaws. I think they could pass in some tourney play, but if someone wanted to do that, they might want to wait and see if the corners get fixed.
tl;dr: when sleeved, the cards are very passable, especially for casual play.
Thank you very much, HonorBasquiat, thank you very very much. These were some pretty important informations you brought us, and it concerns me much more than whatever on earth ppl bitch about TNN or SotL or price of Tabernacle.
I'm really surprised that they spoiled the corners. I do understand that it may be impossible to order a perfect sort of paper (esp. if you don't know for which one you should look), or that the colors are of or the varnish is too shiny/matt. (Btw, I think those fakes don't glow under UV, am I right?) But to make such an obvious mistake as the wrong corners are (and mistake it is, I cannot imagine that they don't have the right stuff in professional card printinghouse), brings some hope.
I'm especially curious about the back sides, they look very well. I'd say they look more real then many of the Alliances/Mirage REAL cards.
At least 9/10 playable, at least.
Btw: what about the light test? Are they similar to normal cards?
These aren't my cards, just sharing them. I'll ask about the light test though. I want to say they pass the regular light test, but not the UV light test.
I think the corners might deliberately be off, so the creator of the proxy can point to something to prove that it's not an exact replication. Hopefully he'll step up his corner game, but it's really not that big of a deal, like I said, most players don't even know about that stuff, yet alone pay attention to it.
No way. Putting so much effort in near-perfect fakes to make a little fortune and then spoiling it deliberately so he might have a pseudo-out at court?
I'm not educated on the copyright laws in China, but many oriental countries sell fake products openely in malls, so that's that.
If I were to use such fakes in tournament play, I'd simply use black sleeves, so the corners' shapes wouldn't even be visible.
Those fakes look like they have the texture of playing cards. Have you looked at them under a loupe? Or do you have some super close up pictures? The print pattern looks a lot like a playing card and I suspect anybody with a sharp eye could distinguish those from legit duals.
I might just be overly optimistic though.

Trust me, they will pass unless your opponent is explicitly suspicious and going out of their way to look for flaws.
In high speed play during a large tournament or a small tournament of casual play... Either way it would pass.

Those cards look pretty good. I wouldn't mind picking up a bunch of proxies for casual decks (if the price is right...)

For those who understand Czech.
Thanks a lot for all those who participated in tests and were willing to spend their money and time to do them!
Hello again everybody, sorry but been very busy with exams these days. Only managed to get some time to make a review for the czech comunity (the link posted by BDP). Will translate the most important parts to english and post it here in upcoming days :-) Unfortunately I can't afford to drop out of school because of chinese fakes. Hope you understand.
Why?
Seriously, if everything that ppl gather from the Czech version of your article are the results of tests, I guess you made good job for the community!
Bend test - FAILED
Water test – PASSED
Light test – FAILED
UV test – PASSED

First of all the pattern doesn't seem correct, but the major difference to a real card is that the characters are stamped onto the pattern -> thus they have sharp edges. Just poor fakes - nothing more.
Although I really don't understand why people are doing tests and stuff but are not able to show high resolution scans or magnifications.
