If anybody will be at GP Worcester next week, I'll be in attendance. I've been working on a modern port of Scapewish and I think I've got it nominally functional -- now I've got a week to tune it, lol. But yeah -- feel free to swing by and say hey if anyone else'll be there =)
Anyone playing Scapewish nowdays? How does the most recent lists look like?

4 Burning Wish
3 Scapeshift
3 Pernicious Deed
3 Sensei's Divining Top

4 Taiga
2 Stomping Grounds
3 Badlands
2 Bayou

2 Red Elemental Blast
2 Abrupt Decay
2 Thoughtseize
1 Massacre
1 Scapeshift
1 Innocent Blood
1 Toxic Deluge
1 Maelstrom Pulse
1 Pyroclasm
This is my latest list. Note that I haven't actually played legacy in several months after buying/moving into my first house, but this is where I'm going to start when I pick the format back up in the wake of Worcester.
2 Batterskull main. That's interesting
I played Scapewish this weekend at SCG Baltimore, started 4-0 then the wheels fell off after a loss to my Friend Josh Rhodes who t8'd
I used Kevin's anti combo configuration, for reference:
4 Veteran Explorer
2 Sakura-Tribe Elder
1 Eternal Witness
2 Wood Elves
3 Huntmaster of the Fells
2 Thragtusk
1 Primeval Titan
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Green Sun's Zenith
4 Burning Wish
2 Scapeshift
2 Slaughter Games
3 Pernicious Deed
3 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Taiga
2 Stomping Grounds
3 Badlands
2 Bayou
3 Verdant Catacombs
1 Wooded Foothills
3 Forest
2 Swamp
2 Mountain
2 Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
SB:
3 Thoughtseize
3 Red Elemental Blast
2 Liliana of the Veil
1 Slaughter Games
1 Massacre
1 Scapeshift
1 Innocent Blood
1 Toxic Deluge
1 Maelstrom Pulse
1 Pyroclasm
2-1 vs Ben friedmen URW Delver
2-0 vs DnT
2-1 vs Clay Burn
2-0 vs JD Nir infect
1-2 vs Josh Rhodes RUG Delver
2-1 vs Shardless BUG
2-1 vs trinket mage miracles
0-2 vs RUG
0-2 vs Fred in very close games on reanimator
The slaughter games over preformed in the matchups I wanted them (reanimator and miracles) and was lucky enough not to show up in any other matches
6-3 to end it, a win on the second RUG opponent would have let me draw into t8 so close but RUG stood in my way yet again, hope to get there next time
That's a shame. How were the Lilianas for you?
Also, did you at least finish in the money? X-3 is dodgy, but since you were almost able to ID into top 8, I'm assuming your breakers were good.
What happened in the RUG matchups? Usual RUG godhand bullshit?
One of the main reasons why I put this deck aside was the combo-ripe meta at my local shop. The idea of using MD Slaughter Games is ingenious, and makes me want to give this another shot.
Hey guys! what you think about Garruk Relentless? Planeswalkers works reaaly good with explorer's aceleratiom and with Pernivious deed.
I play Scapeshift with this changes
-1 Top
- 2 Slaughter Games
- 1 Huntmaster
- + 3 Decays
- + 1 Garruk Relentless
And i want one copy of Master of the wild hunt in the main, but i don't know what to cut :(
Yea 39th, I had the highest breakers of x-2 going into the last round but couldent draw because the reanimator player was 7-1-1 and had a shot to get in
against RUG the first time i stumbled on mana g1 and g3 i got valakut and stomping as my initial mana sources with a great hand otherwise, dident see a third land till t4 and got triple dazed after a t1 delver
the the second match I had 3 vets with no way to sac other than a countered pyroclasm and game 2 he got the one land blind flip delver counter everything hand![]()
the lilianas were fine, they were mostly used as a sac effect, i feel like they could be something else tho they aren't the best thing against combo and dont do much against miracles given they can just play off the top 3 cards of their deck, maybe a surgical or something to go with the discard, although that might be too much of a reach with slaughters already in
once during the tournament I had to wait for a black source to therapy but i got it by turn 3 and it wasn't very relevant, (t1 vet t2 sakura against infect is fine anyway)
the Lilis were always drawn late and not an issue to cast at that point
against rug my deck decided to give me rly shakey hands that either did nothing or have to gamble with the mana base, along with the possibility of delvers nut draws, Josh plays me all the time so he knows how to interact with scapewish which makes things much harder and the second match i never got to put up a fight

It seems GerryT has highlighted samwise88's list from modo.

Lack of deed seems odd.

God, those comments are awful.
List is definitely missing a Sigarda, but otherwise it actually looks pretty similar to Qweerios's last GBW list, which I believe was drifting in that direction. Sideboard is obviously awful, and the manabase needs shaped up a bit -- but generally speaking it's not some "new innovative thing" -- it's just another product of our awesome behemoth of a thread.
Having lots of fun with Punishing fire version atm. Mostly been playing against stoneblade w/ true name, jace, snapcaster etc and it feels like the matchup is 90/10 in our favour
JUst got done looking at the walker build and watching the vids. Seems kinda interesting some minor tweaking could make it more viable. The one ofs's of strix and ponder need to be changed out, possiabliy for more walker maybe Kiora maybe even Ashiok. Here is the link with vids if any1 is interested http://www.starcitygames.com/article...n-Walkers.html.
Alright. Looking to update the sideboard/wishboard a little for this weekend in KC.

Against what deck do/did you struggle the most ?
(looking forward to reading a report !!!)
I found that Elves is a just a freaking nightmare.
The last report you made, you lost against Elves and BUG, right ?
+2 Toxic deluge -> You already have "Humility" as a huge blowout so I would not play "engineered plague". I guess a Toxic deluge main could be a strong option (putting a deed in the SB) as it is just a full turn quicker than Deed (nice answer to clogged board and can be backbreaking against Elves & BUG).
+1 Helm of Obedience -> Only if you expect a lot of RIP.deck. But I do like the potential blowout !
Considering:
+1 Abrupt decay/Wilt-Leaf Liege/Loxodon smiter/Obstinate baloth/Mirran crusader -> Only if BUG is everywhere. Against BUG tempo, my preference goes to AD/Obstinate Baloth/Loxodon. Against BUG Control (Shardless and others), WLL or Crusader are potential blowouts.
+1 Dark Depths. As you will be playing Vampire Hexmage, this can catch your opponent off guard. I can see it as a potential replacement to Helm. DD coming in games where you expect a strong gravehate (and so -1 volrath). The downside is a 2 card-combo. Anyway, if you are interested in such option, I would also play a one-of Knight of The Reliquary MD (cutting a rector as your enchantment package is ultra light => Moat, deed, SoL).
I'll make a more involved post later, but just a quick thought for you: the only way to beat Elves is to sweep them and then drop something that they can't recover from (ie Deluge -> Plague / Nether Void / Chalice@1 etc). Even then there's still a chance that they just sick rips the Decay for the hate option (since most non-Voids are 3 or under). We usually get to sweep once vs Elves, be it Deluge, G Charm, Deed, or whatnot -- the problem is that since we are a midrange control/combo deck in (almost) all iterations, we can't actively pressure them enough before they rebuild with Glimpse and just go off again, bigger and harder because they have more mana sources in play this time (which usually ends with a hoof to the face). You also have to be aware of Progenitus's existence -- and Elves can still Natural Order through an E.Plague because a lot of their dudes actually have 2 toughness (DRS, Nettle, etc).
Everyone in this thread knows how much of a fan of Nether Void I am, so I'd definitely run one of those. It's awkward, for sure, but it's really the best chance you have to keep them down. They can still go off through it, especially with Cradle, but it'll be much, much harder for them to do, and hopefully you can continue to pile on hateful cards / clock / more sweepers and slam the door before they recover -again- (because they will).
