Check out the grinding station thread in the developmental section, they discuss the style that has ad nauseam in the board. I'm guessing the reason this version has been putting up results is the fact that it has a better matchup against counterspell.dec and miracles, but I might be wrong.
Check this out guys

Will be report Kai?
So, GP lille ended. Was a great weekend overall even if I ended 5-4 at legacy (fucking mud and reaninator) and vintage 3-3. But I had lots of fun. I ended playing omnitell (sorry guys but resolving a dig is like cheating and the stormers here already blamed me in the event, hope dig gets banned next week). And got happy to get you know all and whats your games. Learned a lot of new things while playing and was nice to meet Kai, Lemmear, Wonderpreax, Cabal Therapy and see Sloshthedark again.
Will be back at Toulouse and this time with storm for sure!
Also a reason I didnt played storm was because my therapys are with Ron spencer signing and I didnt got other foil ones to play.
Was nice to see storm enfong so good. Was at least 3 or more storm deck between 10th (slosh) and 50th place. The deck os just nuts ^^
Hu? Didn't even know that Max was there. Looks like I missed a lot of you guys in the end. Sorry for that and everyone I missed to say goodbye in Person yesterday. I'm off for shopping in Lille now

Round-14: 4c Delver 2-1 W 11-3
Round-15: Burn 2-0 W 12-3
for 12th place due to sick breakers.
I thought about cutting the swarms beforehand, wish I did. Flusterstorm wasn't very useful, but it could have been with loads of omnitell (but omni didn't do that well) as well as some ANT players deep in day-2. Carpet was solid, and a second one might be sweet. Empty was insane against Miracles and Delver postboard, almost played 2-3 SB but opted not to last minute. Top was fine like always. Massacre was underused, but that means it was better than playing 3-4 Dreads. Hurkyl's was a good choice I think with quite a few chalice decks doing well.
I might write a small report later if I feel like it.

It was a great weekend indeed, sadly none of us got to the end... Just got back, I'll write a report in next few days if I find the time
My Main Event:
Round 1: 0-2 OmniTell
Round 2: 0-2 SneakShow
Round 3: 1-2 Reanimator
Round 4: 0-2 OmniTell
Guess I wont be writing a report then :D
So far i can see and experienced my self i find infect and reanimater hard to beat. I also trubled with Elfs in game 2-3, spesially in game 2 when they start.
How do ppl approach these MU's i went for speed since i dont see playing defence vs reanimater with only 2 flusterstorms and my already 7 discard, same with infect as abrupt do not kill there manlands. Elfs was either a goldfish or a DRS nightmare.
M1 bye
M2 bye
M3 Infect 1-2 (2-1)
M4 Elfs 2-1 (3-1)
M5 Shardless BUG 2-1 (4-1)
M6 Affinety 2-1 (5-1)
M7 Canadian 2-1 (6-1)
M8 Bant 2-0 (7-1) opponent was unlucky and got a gameloss because of decklist registration)
M9 Elfs 0-2 (7-2)
----
M10 Punishing Maverick 2-0 (8-2)
M11 Dark Maverick 2-1 (9-2)
M12 Reanimater 1-2 (got gameloss in g3 for bad sleeves) (9-3)
M13 Elfs1-2 (lost with ad naseum from 20, In retro i could have avoided that) (9-4)
M14 BUG Delver 2-1 (10-4)
M15 Grixis Delver 1-2 (10-5) opponent was a real nice guy and he asked about drawing, but i wanted to play since i was only 3-2 for day 2, we had both our games but i null and Get wreaked bye discard game 3.
Pro: made Day 2, playmat, wife and kid with me on this trip and meeting Jonathan.
Con: AC broken on Day 1, lost my playmat, getting a stupid gameloss because im a cheap ass to not resleeve betwine day1 and day2
I will drop my report tomorrow ;)
It was nevilshute, the other Martin who made Top 16.
Don't mind me, i'm just writing about Pauper these days: theweeklywars.wordpress.com

Just mixed nevilshute with wonderpreaux
Hahaha
Sorry
Nevil=\=wonder xD
Srry again
Well, home at last. Had a 5 hour wait in Bruxelles Airport because the plane hit some birds on the way in and the pilot didn't want to take it back up in the air. Good thing I was stuck with 4 other guys and about 12 legacy decks between us!
It was such a great experience to meet all of you guys for the first time (Jonathan, Martin, Rodrigo, Robert, Jamie and many more) and it was of course awesome to see Kai again
I also had a pretty amazing weekend in magic terms and, in spite of the heartbreak of losing my win-and-in for top-8 in the final round - to Lands no less, I was absolutely thrilled with finishing in the top-16. Here's my list: http://magic.wizards.com/en/events/c...sts-2015-07-05 (15th place - Martin Nielsen).
A few cliff notes from my tournament (will try and get a proper report up one of these days):
Day One:
Rnd 1 vs UWR-Delver: 2-0 (1-0)
Rnd 2 vs Sneak and Show: 2-0 (2-0)
Rnd 3 vs Grixis Control: 2-0 (3-0)
Rnd 4 vs Deathblade: 2-1 (4-0)
Rnd 5 vs Grixis Delver: 2-0 (5-0)
Rnd 6 vs Grixis Delver: 2-1 (6-0)
Rnd 7 vs Grixis Delver: 2-0 (7-0)
Rnd 8 vs Aggro Loam: 0-2 (7-1)
Rnd 9 vs Miracles 2-0 (8-1)
Day Two:
Rnd 10 vs Elves: 2-1 (9-1)
Rnd 11 vs Ur Omni: 2-1 (10-1)
Rnd 12 vs Aggro Loam: 0-2 (10-2)
Rnd 13 vs ANT: 2-0 (11-2)
Rnd 14 vs Grixis Delver: 2-1 (12-2)
Rnd 15 vs Lands: 1-2 (12-3)
So, obviously sweet that I beat every Force of Will deck I faced (10). Empty the Warrens and double Tendrils in the main felt like played a HUGE factor in achieving this. Was obvsiouly also disappointing to get crushed by Aggro Loam. In retrospect I wish I would have boarded in my 4 Young Pyromancers as I have had good experience with that plan against that deck back last year.
An aside: there were 28 Miracles decks on day two and 9 Storm decks. Both decks put 3 in the top-16. I think that's pretty decent.
Was there in GP Lille as well.
Friday trial:
round 1: win (forgot)
round 2: win 2-0 (burn)
round 3: win 2-1 (ichorid, he threw away last game when stacking his gy wrong)
round 4: win vs delver (he played his counters very aggressively on my cantrips leaving him without any when I assembled enough business)
round 5: win vs delver (very nice guy)
Saturday main event:
round 3: loss (infect, made a huge missplay with a ponder)
round 4: win (reanimator. won a game vs an active griselbrand and another because he entomb/reanimated a platinum empyrion. He got the turn 1 combo twice so that compensates)
round 5: win (delver)
round 6: win (delver)
round 7: loss (delver. he gave me every opportunity by tapping his deathrite to attack every time but I just feel short of business)
round 8: loss -> drop vs omnitell
The deck felt powerful enough. The player needs some training.
I also feel like I haven't got good boarding strategies. Especially what comes out vs the top tier decks
Also another question.
Why play (or not play) grim tutor in the grinding station shell? Because you could easily argue that it's not really necessary (pure ANT NEEDS to tutor, grinding station draws pretty naturally into tendrils/empty and tutors for some acceleration pretty often so hellbent isn't an issue).
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what's for lunch.
I'm looking into Grinding Station, and I noticed that the recent lists (Pascal Wagner, etc.) look a bit different than the original lists that had no tutors in the maindeck. It would seem that not all of the information in the primer as far as how to approach games applies to new build that opts to play all four tutors in the maindeck.
Jona, how has the way you play the game changed with these newer builds of Grinding Station? Are you still on the same plan of making lots of land drops, or does having the tutors change how you play? Do you use Infernal Tutor in the same way that ANT does?
The last time I played Grinding Station I used Tutor a lot to copy Tendrils. Maybe that's just me
