Super Troopers? I love that movie
I feel like rocksteady driving a porche would be a fitting alter for matts rhinos...
Back on-topic, I think you may be right about finks. The question I have heading into the weekend is this: Thragtusk or Finks to compliment Rhino? Expected meta is primarily Delver, Miracles, and Sneak/Show. With such a high % of delver (usually 50% or more of the room running some variant...UR/Grixis/RUG/4C), I think this comment about Finks makes a lot of sense. To toss in a blocker who prolongs the match via lifegain isn't a terrible idea. Finks can also combo with Therapy.
The downside is that Finks simply isn't the same overall power as Tusk. But Arianrhod's discussion of other decks running through him a few weeks ago makes me think this card is an x-factor I forgot about.
I like Finks against Burn for example. It's an alright GSZ target. Not sure how many you want to be running. I'd almost rather run Obstinate Baloth most of the time to help against Liliana/Hymn decks. Big body, life gain as a big chunk, trumps non-goyf bodies on the ground.
That said, I also found that Baloth was too mediocre about half the time and I eventually went to Bloodghast to be more aggro oriented.
C'est La Vie.
But at that point, you could also play Courser. I feel like if you're struggling with Delver decks in particular and you're already at 4 Rhino, why not run something like Tracker, or even a Spike Feeder? Courser is continuous advantage but less initial swing in the lifepoints, but Tracker knocks Delvers out of the sky pretty well.
Why not just jam it all? I've actually been pretty happy running truth in the card selection slot and knight of the reliquary in the slot where you're discussing finks. Being able to get bog or depths is pretty clutch, and the extra threat density seems to be the deciding factor against miracles. At some point you have more things than they can answer, and thats saying a lot.
Fires keeps drawing us. I made the call to stick to Junk as i am preparing it for a wider range of decks to play against. Cus that's what basicly is the difference between Junk and Jund, a broader vs a more narrow meta.
I failed to see the obvisous while playing Grixis; the full set of Deathrite Shaman out of the board replacing Liliana and PTruths games 2/3. Next to Courser, Scooze and 4 Rhino this should suffice. At least DRS can stall their DRS and draw bolt's away. "One bullet away", it would have been the difference. I should play grixis more tight.
Slightly updating my signature list.
Yeah, starting out with DRS & Scooze works quite well vs. Delver. Especially Scooze can walk away with a game if they can't get rid of it. Though in the end Grixis Delver is just another delver.dec, so you shouldn't worry about it too much.
On the 3 mana lifegain slot: I use a Courser for that, works like a dream. Can block quite a good bit, gives CA/CQ & life to boot.
Finks might give more life on short term, but outside of a Pod build I wouldn't run it.
On another note - sideboard cards: Tsunami seems like fun. On the other hand they do make Carpet of Flowers obsolete where Choke keeps those up and running. Thoughts, anyone?
I've been grinding grixis delver both for my colorless list and for my roommate's scapewish, and we've come to the conclusion that the matchup revolves almost entirely around Cabal Therapy. If we see Therapy, even one usage is usually enough to force through something stupid. This would tend to suggest that boarding in Thoughtseizes is correct, despite the lifeloss and questionable nature of midgame topdecks. Grixis seems like it runs out of gas somewhere around turn 5 or so, so it really is just a matter of surviving the early game and getting to turn 5 with a reasonably healthy life total.
We've also concluded that Grixis really doesn't appreciate upside 3/2s for 3. Kitchen Finks (for him) and Matter Reshaper (for me) have both been pulling tremendous amounts of work. Against Grixis, the best defense is sometimes a good offense. If you can get out enough power quickly enough, their efficient but small creatures don't stack up very well. Finks in particular has been fantastic.
I've been on the hype train for GBC fit for awhile, keeping up with the current lists being posted on here and updating my list with them. I played the deck in a small event at my lgs and there were some little things just with clunkily with the deck? It felt like the deck often wanted more basics, eye seemed awkward, and matter reshaper seemed like not enough to justify playing the waste. Since I've NEVER played nic fit until recently I had @Ricardio help me brew up some changes to help smooth it out. We ended up at
4 Veteran Explorer
1 Deathrite Shaman
1 Scavenging Ooze
1 Eternal Witness
1 Courser of Kruphix
1 Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 Oracle of Mul Days
1 Meren of Clan Nel Toth
1 Thragtusk
1 Primeval Titan
1 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
1 Kozilek, the Great Distortion
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Green Sun's Zenith
3 Pernicious Deed
3 Sensei's Divining Top
3 Abrupt Decay
1 Maelstrom Pulse
2 Toxic Deluge
2 Skeletal Scrying
4 Bayou
4 Verdant Catacombs
1 Phyrexian Tower
3 Cloudpost
4 Glimmerpost
4 Forest
3 Swamp
sideboard
2 Carpet of Flowers
2 Massacre
2 Pithing Needle
2 Disfigure
2 Thoughtseize
2 Surgical Extraction
1 Abrupt Decay
1 Golgari Charm
1 Dryad Militant
I never got a chance to play the deck after the changes but I'm feeling hopeful. A few things about the deck tho, Kozilek is incredible, even running him into obvious counters is just gas, Prime Time is NUTS, and Newlamog is p much strictly better than original. Read the bones was changed to scrying after Ricardios insistence than read is basically unplayable, I always found it perfectly fine but I'm willing to take the advice of a veteran player. some of the zenith package is kind of just yolo'd tbh, I think there was a nath of the gilt leaf in consideration for awhile and Titania? Any suggestions are definitely welcome
I count 12 initial green and 11 black manasources. That's just way too low.
You need to -2 Forest, -1 Swamp, +2 Windswept Heath and +1 Marsh Flats. That'd bring your initial counts up to 13 each, which are both slightly too low to really be reliable. I know it puts you at a dangerously low number of basics, but not being colorscrewed beats not having any basics to fetch after your second Explorer. I'd also switch out 2 Bayou for another Heath and another Flats. This gives Courser, Oracle and Top more shuffle effects to shuffle away unwanted cards from the top.
Heh, you see the 'hidden' references in that name?
BTW: Rhino's Abbondanza pimp in progress:

@Dominic Pain
Here is original list of GBC before new set http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/s...Nic-Feat-8Post. It contains all referred data about manabase. It was running 6 basics along with 5 fetchlands and 4 Duals, this gives:
- 13 green mana
- 11 black mana or 10 if splash.
List also included additional ramp/fixing colors in sort of Solemns and Wood Elves. Those where very important elements to supplement manabase when you faced recursive wastelands on opponent side. 6 Basics is very important since it allow to cast Titans.
Skeletal Scrying actually seems pretty interesting here...I forgot that card exists. I think I have a foil in a box somewhere, maybe I'll test a singleton and see how it feels. Have you felt like you needed Ulamog? I'm skeptical on a third Eldrazi titan...seems like it might clunk up too much.
I think that Eye is still too important to cut, since it turns Zenith for 6 into a wincon. It's awkward and annoying and sucks at times, but it's powerful enough to justify its existence imo. I also tested out the Fierce Empath, and have been loving him in this deck.

1 Golgari Charm
2 Krosan Grip
2 Thought-Knot Seer
2 Disfigure
1 Nether Void
2 Trinisphere
2 Thoughtseize
2 Warping Wail
This is my current list after deciding to abandon the Living Wishes. It's felt super solid and has been strong vs everything we've thrown at it. In the cheeky Nic Fit mirror world, it's still about a half a turn to a full turn behind Scapewish, so it's unfavored there...but, since it's -only- that little behind, it basically smashes all other Nic Fits. For whatever that matters.
I'm kind of annoyed about the Wastes, but I think that it's actually important enough to stay because of the sideboard. You can make the argument that I could add another colored source over it and just run different sideboard cards, but the difference between Warping Wail and Massacre, say, is huge. Wail and TKS have both proven valuable as sideboard cards, and I'm recalcitrant to get rid of them for weaker cards.
Matter Reshaper has continued its service of excellence. I'm debating put the third back in over Wurmcoil, but haven't come to a real conclusion on that yet.
I watched something very similar to that list in action last night and I was not in the slightest bit impressed. No disrespect but it just seems like EDH fit the dream. By playing cloudpost in nic fit, ramp in ramp, you are creating the inception deck. A dream in a dream. It needs focus and a game plan. Mana and fatties equal wins but theres gotta be a plan.
That's gotta be the new official name. It's too good. Impressive pic btw.
I want to run your list this weekend. What tweaks would you make for a meta dominated by delver + miracles + sneak show?
I'd probably drop the 2 Lillianas. Not sure what goes in...Teeg and QPM? Or do I shave a PTE as well and go 1 Teeg 2 G.Charm main deck? Zero DRS makes me very nervous.
