As worded, it only stops Top. Brainstorm actually draws the cards and you only see them when they are in your hand. Fetchlands read 'search', not 'look', so I don't think it would do what you want.Quote:

Why the obsession with making discard better?
I mean, if I had to choose between thoughtseize/duress being good and brainstorm being legal, I'm picking brainstorm almost every time
As someone who plays Modern a fair bit, I am use to discard now. It just kind of happens. Will say this though, a format heavy on discard incentives its player base not to invest in single card dominant strategies. Cheerios for example dies to discard backed up by anything that can punch hard. This means its not a good deck to play and win with. In Legacy, this would push Storm harder into a pit after you take Brainstorm away. Not that I am debating keeping BS, my views on the card are public knowledge at this point, but its still something to think about.

Well there were 3 Elves in Top 8, so the miracles players kinda cake walked to the final
I actually defeated Anders' Miracles in the Swiss, and came one turn following a topdecked Entreat close to taking game 3 in the quarters. The matchup is bad, but them playing 4 Predict and cutting down on a lot of business definitely helps out Elves.
"Cakewalk" was too strong of a term, but it is one of Miracles' best matchups. My point is really that this top 8 was favorable to the miracle players and, more generally, that looking at the whole top 8 is far more useful than who made the finals.
i think we need to look at the top 16. the top 8 was decided after single elimination rounds began.
anyone know what the others were playing? any other miracles decks there?
25% of the Top 8 were Miracles with only 8.5% meta presence. It's not like they fed on the measly 3.3% Elves representation to get there.Quote:
