When i first tested my Welder MUD variant, I tested Lotus Petal a lot and found that it really sucked. You can use it for some early acceleration, but more often than not, you need a consistent source of mana. Mox Opal is very important at times, especially for me I run a set of Thirsts in the deck for added consistency and more synergy with welder. And to note, I am not using Wastelands because I don't have them, and because of that, I am not using Crucibles as there is a no real reason to run them without the Wastelands.
