Are you on the play or draw? Is it UB or RB?

Did you side in Thoughtseizes?

I'd probably mull. No lands is pretty risky, and being able to Surgical Elesh Norn hits 1 card and banks on them having a Turn 1. 2 Surgicals is tempting, but they can possibly recover faster than we can with a 0 lander. If they reveal Chancellor, you lose both Surgicals and don't have any graveyard control. Are they on the Thoughtseize/Unmask build? On the play, not playing anything tells them you have at least 1 Surgical Extraction. Thoughtseize will show you have 2.

But with Quirion Ranger, Heritage Druid, and Nettle Sentinels, it's pretty tempting to trust in the Heart of the Cards.

Would 100% keep vs RB Reanimator. Mulliganning this would be a huge failure. It even beats their turn1 on the play with Chancellor-backup.

Against UB, we need more information. Are on the play or on the draw? What does the rest of our SB look like? Do we know whether they have Show and Tell?

when he bolts your ranger you have to return the bayou to your hand. ..etc... that's what i would do.

agree 100% here. One piece of advice I received from a good friend who was much better at gaming in general than I am: when your opponent makes an action, such as killing a creature, you should assume they have a plan in mind. In this case, there was almost no downside to returning the bayou but even if you had a basic forest in hand; I'd still always return the bayou--because your opponent was counting on that wasteland in his strategy and even the smallest amount of disruption to his strategy is a win for you.

you very easily would have won that game if you drew a decay and could cast it, since delver was his only pressure. I can guarantee your opponent kept that hand thinking "aight, this delver must win me the game--because I have nothing else going on besides wasteland and a buncha removal." So if you stop his wasteland activation and kill his delver--he probably loses (or at least the chances of you losing drop dramatically).

anyways, great example--I like discussing corner case scenarios such as this.

it's our second worst matchup in the format...things aren't getting much better. If you draw a forest card in turns 1-3, you're off to the races...

a mull to 6 or less with 0-1 surgicals probably isn't winning you the game.

I haven't heard of a specific discord channel dedicated to Elves, nor can I find anything on it. Some channels are public, many private. The best I found is the legacy discord channel and a few other random ones. Link to legacy discord channel: https://discord.gg/XdrJg7t

Congrats as usual. MD is the same, although I am still flirting with running 2 Birchlore's. Any reason why 2 Birchlore may not be ideal?

2 Birchlore is fine regarding making any mana but your is dependant on that flex spot. if there is a bunch of reanimator i suggest using that spot for a MD Ooze so your G1 isnt so harsh and you have a way to interact with it.

progenitus is good right now in the meta but i think since the popularity in SnS/Omni is on the rise cheating a progenitus or craterhoof with your opponents show and tell doesnt make a difference. If there is so much or the spagetti monster and other combo flying around (storm, reanimator) i think 4 cabal is pretty good because it disrupts them as much as possible so we can go off.

Julian used to run 61 in the last Legacy challenge, but I'm only counting 60 here (my counting sucks, but I did count multiple times).

Hmm, I might be returning to Elves!. I have a lot of catching up to do though. And some brewing to do. Might want to test a build without Cradles (in favor of even more critters) and with a Vizier of the Menagerie.
