H: Swamp, Divest, Duty-Bound Dead, Fourth Bridge Prowler
1. Asthereal (TO): Plains, Swamp, Caravan Escort, Final Payment
On the Play I can discard the Escort, on the Draw, I can kill it if it is played, and I have two threats. 6-0
2. Reeplcheep: Urza's Mine, Urza's Power Plant, Urza's Tower, Ruin Processor
Discard is good here. 6-0
3. GoblinSmashmaster: Forest, Firewild Borderpost, Silhana Ledgewalker, Taste for Mayhem
Discard is again good. 6-0
4. dte: Swiftwater Cliffs, Conjurer's Bauble, Stream of Thought, chain Lightning
Nope, I have nothing for this. 0-6
5. alphastryk: Swamp, Crookshank Kobolds, Tendrils of Despair, Vile Rebirth
On the Play:
H T1: Divest the Kobold.
A T1: Make Zombie.
I can't win the race no matter what I do next. Obviously the Draw is worse. 0-6
6. Wrath of Pie: Island, Fieldmist Borderpost, Dream Thrush, Infiltrator il-Kor
I have time in both cases to take the il-Kor, then I can beat the Thrush. 6-0
7. H: Bye, myself.
8. maxx!: Remote Farm, Kor Skyfisher, Kor Skyfisher, Journey to Nowhere
I can't beat this. 0-6
9. FTW: Saprazzan Skerry, Phantasmal Terrain, Phantasmal Bear, Martyr of Frost
I can land two things before I lose my land, so Discard and Dead can win on the Play. On the Draw, I just lose. 3-3
10. silkster: Swamp, Kobolds of Kher Keep, Culling the Weak, Canker Abomination
Discard is real good on the Play. I lose on the Draw. 3-3
11. Tylert: Plains, Akrasan squire, Akrasan squire, Sacred cat
I think this is two Draws. I can always Discard one Squire, but Tyler can't play the second, because I can just Prowler it. So Dead and Cat will just stare at each other. 2-2
32 maybe?
"The Ancients teach us that if we can but last, we shall prevail."
—Kaysa, Elder Druid of the Juniper Order
maxx!: Remote Farm, Kor Skyfisher, Kor Skyfisher, Journey to Nowhere
Disagreements with GoblinSmashmaster and Wrath of Pie. See below.
1. Asthereal (TO): Plains, Swamp, Caravan Escort, Final Payment
Both of us have live removal but I have 2 threats and you only have 1. 6-0
2. Reeplcheep: Urza's Mine, Urza's Power Plant, Urza's Tower, Ruin Processor
Journey your Eldrazi. 6-0
3. GoblinSmashmaster: Forest, Firewild Borderpost, Silhana Ledgewalker, Taste for Mayhem
My guys both have flying. I block your Ledgewalker to trade a 2/3 for your 5/1, then kill you with the other. 6-0
4. dte: Swiftwater Cliffs, Conjurer's Bauble, Stream of Thought, chain Lightning
Journey is dead and I'm not fast enough to kill you before you recur Chain Lightning twice. 0-6
5. alphastryk: Swamp, Crookshank Kobolds, Tendrils of Despair, Vile Rebirth
I always discard a Skyfisher and Journey to your Tendrils. When you're OTP you cast Tendrils, I play my land, you Rebirth, and then I make a Skyfisher just in time to block. You can't attack into it, so I get to attack first and win the race. Same when I'm OTP, just slightly faster. 6-0
6. Wrath of Pie: Island, Fieldmist Borderpost, Dream Thrush, Infiltrator il-Kor
This one is tricky. Dream Thrush is sloooooooow so I actually have time to do things. OTP Thrush is too slow to stop me from playing both Skyfishers and I can race you. OTD I get stuck with a single Skyfisher and lose the race to the Infiltrator. (Analysis at the bottom of the post) 3-3
7. H: Swamp, Divest, Duty-Bound Dead, Fourth Bridge Prowler
You can Divest one Skyfisher, but I can Journey your DBD and easily race the Prowler with my other Skyfisher. 6-0
8. maxx!: Remote Farm, Kor Skyfisher, Kor Skyfisher, Journey to Nowhere
This is me : ]
9. FTW: Saprazzan Skerry, Phantasmal Terrain, Phantasmal Bear, Martyr of Frost
OTP I can play one Skyfisher before I get Terrain'd. I can't race your ground army, but I have favorable blocks so we sit and stare. OTD I can't play anything. 1-4
10. silkster: Swamp, Kobolds of Kher Keep, Culling the Weak, Canker Abomination
Journey your Abomination. 6-0
11. Tylert: Plains, Akrasan squire, Akrasan squire, Sacred cat
I'm pretty sure I just need to Journey a Squire here. That leaves you with a Squire and a Cat, so you can't attack for more than 2 at a time. I hold back one Skyfisher to block, while attacking with the other. 6-0
6+6+6+0+6+3+6+1+6+6 = 46 (!)
vs Wrath of Pie
OTP (WoP plays Dream Thrush first)
m: Farm
W: Island, Borderpost
m: Skyfisher, Farm
W: Island, Thrush
m: Journey Thrush, attack (WoP 18)
W: Suspend (s=2)
m: Attack (WoP 16), Skyfisher (bounce Journey)
W: s=1, no good attacks, pass
m: Double attack (WoP 12)
W: Double attack (m 16)
m: Double attack (WoP 8)
W: Double attack (m 12)
m: Double attack (WoP 4)
W: Infiltrator attack (need to block with Thrush)(m 11)
m: Double attack, chump (WoP 2)
W: Attack (m 8)
m: Double attack (WoP -2)
OTP (WoP suspends Infiltrator first)
m: Farm
W: Island, Borderpost
m: Skyfisher, Farm
W: Island, suspend Infiltrator (s=2)
m: Skyfisher, Farm, attack (WoP 18)
W: Dream Thrush, s=1
m: Journey Thrush, attack (WoP 14)
I'm attacking for 4 and you're attacking for 3 so with a life total lead already I'll win this race easily.
OTD (WoP plays Dream Thrush first)
W: Island, Borderpost
m: Farm
W: Island, Dream Thrush
m: Skyfisher, Farm
W: Suspend Infiltrator (s=2)
Dream Thrush locks my land now so we start racing
m: Attack (WoP 18)
W: s=1
m: Attack (WoP 16)
I need 8 attacks here and you only need 7 (and you get to attack first). I can't win this one
I am a genius and missed you can just replay Remote Farm after you bounce it with Skyfisher.
Me: silkster: Swamp, Kobolds of Kher Keep, Culling the Weak, Canker Abomination
1. Asthereal (TO): Plains, Swamp, Caravan Escort, Final Payment
Removal? No fair!
0 points
2. Reeplcheep: Urza's Mine, Urza's Power Plant, Urza's Tower, Ruin Processor
Inconsistency: I originally saw the bigger creature and wrote this up as 0-6 for me. But I think the truth is in between our first impressions.
Land hate has been very strong of late, and I thought it would continue to be and scare people away from a deck like this. Alas, you weren't scared. I can still salvage one point from my speed on the play. I get two hits in before you can block, so you have to play defense. On the draw, my one hit isn't enough. DL
1 point
3. GoblinSmashmaster: Forest, Firewild Borderpost, Silhana Ledgewalker, Taste for Mayhem
I go bigger and faster. I found Taste for Mayhem a few weeks ago and thought it could be really good with Ornithopter, but Ornithopter had already been banned. Cool to see it played here.

4. dte: Swiftwater Cliffs, Conjurer's Bauble, Stream of Thought, Chain Lightning
I was hoping my size would pay off against red

5. alphastryk: Swamp, Crookshank Kobolds, Tendrils of Despair, Vile Rebirth
I recognize this brew.Classic WL against discard.

6. Wrath of Pie: Island, Fieldmist Borderpost, Dream Thrush, Infiltrator il-Kor
Here's the land hate I was hoping to see!

Another classic WL against discard.

9. FTW: Saprazzan Skerry, Phantasmal Terrain, Phantasmal Bear, Martyr of Frost
Land hate, yay!

11. Tylert: Plains, Akrasan squire, Akrasan squire, Sacred cat
When I'm on the play, you can trade hits with the Cat until I'm up 9-1 in life. Then you get 3 Squire attacks in while blocking with the cat. Since I can't even kill you on the play, I just have to block you forever. DD

33 points. Which is great, but my own deck from two weeks ago did better! At least it wasn't FTW this time.
That's the spirit I should focus on! Shout out to the double Akrasan Squire strategy and... oh, it's Culling the Weak! I've been waiting to play this with Demon Jester since round 3. I've checked up on it each week and it generally would have scored around 2.8 to 3.4 round points. Over time, I somehow forget that it was a 4/3 and had it in my head that it was a 4/4, and I got really excited about it beating all kinds of things. But at 4/3, it died to Lightning Bolt and couldn't block against those double Squire builds. In round 9, that point of toughness would have been the difference between 44 points and 24 points.
It's not usually my M.O. to play a glass cannon deck, but I thought more decks have the wrong answers for me, packing things like Sparksmith, Chain Lightning, and Forked Bolt. I also hoped people would be scared off from big mana decks from the fact that mana denial, no matter how week, has done really well for several rounds in a row now. I know that the best mana denial is gone, but there are still options, especially when you branch into two-mana spells.
This was the easiest week to score for me this entire season. Only one match required pen and paper, and it was still quite straight forward. I think I prefer solving tricky matches.
I decided to draw up a spreadsheet of all the cards that were played, so I chose Kobolds of Kher Keep because I wanted to simplify the sheet and they were the ones that had already been played. When I almost submitted this or a similar deck a few weeks ago, I had Crookshank Kobolds so that people would see its hilarious art work.
Scores for round 11:
1. maxx!: 46 - 4,6
2. alphastryk: 35 - 3,5
3. silkster: 33 - 3,3
4. dte: 32 - 3,2
4. H: 32 - 3,2
6. Tylert: 28 - 2,8
7. Asthereal (TO): 26 - 2,6
8. FTW: 24 - 2,4
9. Wrath of Pie: 23 - 2,3
10. GoblinSmashmaster: 21 - 2,1
11. Reeplcheep: 20 - 2
Which leads to these bannings:
Canker Abomination
Crookshank Kobolds
Culling the Weak
Journey to Nowhere
Kobolds of Kher Keep
Kor Skyfisher
Remote Farm
Tendrils of Despair
Vile Rebirth
And these are the standings for the season before the final round:
1. FTW: 38
2. maxx!: 36
3. silkster: 35,1
4. H: 34,3
5. alphastryk: 28,5
6. Asthereal (TO): 28,2
7. GoblinSmashmaster: 27
8. Wrath of Pie: 25,9
9. Tylert: 23
10. dte: 13,9
11. Moosedog: 12,5
12. Reeplcheep: 12,4
So it's pretty close still. FTW has been topping the chart for a while, but a 2 point difference can definitely be overcome in one round.
In face, even our current nr. 4, H, can theoretically still win the season. Should be a good final round then! I'll open it up soon, so stay tuned.

Okay, it's last round time!
THE FINAL ROUND OF SEASON 7: PAUPER BANNATHON has started.
I have PM'ed myself my deck for round 12, so you can start sending me your decks.
DEADLINE: Wednesday the 16th of September, at 11:00AM Central European Time.
(That's my time zone. Pacific Time it'll probably be something like Tuesday night a bit past midnight, so keep that in mind.)
PLEASE NOTE:
The way you send your deck to me matters. Please send it in the way described below, so it doesn't cost me an hour of editing before I can post all the decks.
Please send your deck as follows: Swamp, Swamp, Terror, Dauthi Slayer. (Yay, example deck stayed legal all season!)
So with card tags around each card, and not above eachother, and with your Username and 4CB S07R12 in the topic.
Don't forget to keep an eye on the banned list. You'll find it in the second post of the thread, or in our Google Spreadsheet.
After the deadline has passed, I will post all decks on the forum here, and you can start puzzling out your scores.
If you have any questions, please read the first two posts of this thread first. If you can't find the answer there, drop a message here. We'll answer a.s.a.p.
Also, if you've been lurking on this thread and looking to join, you can step in anytime, any round. That's no problem at all. Just send me your deck before the deadline, and I'll add you to the competition.
Happy deck designing everybody!
Also, in these busy times I haven't thought about a new season yet.
What would you guys like to play? Peasant bannathon? The opposite of current season (rares only)? New Deviant stuff?
Leave your suggestions below, and I'll have a look what seems most popular.

peasant could be good. 1 uncommon allowed, all other cards commons, starting with the current pauper banlist?
Peasant bannathon seems good
Just to double check, we are carrying over the pauper banned list into the peasant bannathon? And Zendikar Rising is legal?
Continuing current ban list into a peasant bannathon seems awesome.
Can you dredge with an empty library in this format?
I've been enjoying the bannathon aspect, so sticking with some version of that sounds great. Peasant starting with the current banlist makes sense (or unlimited commons/uncommons rather than just 1 uncommon, that sounds good too). Rares and Mythics only actually sounds amazing, but I'm fine with anything.
Final round time!

Also, if you haven't responded yet to my question about what you'd be interested in playing for next season, please do so.
Right now it looks like we might do a season of Peasant Bannathon, starting with the banned list we accumulated in this season.
