We have 49 people, with 4-5 of the locals showing up. I will be posting the top 8 when I have it. Rob said he would give me the T8 lists when the event is over. I went 4-2 and prob. won't make top 8...o well...

Just got home. Good day for me. Top 8 was:

UGR Threshold w/ Wastes (Lam Phan)
    GBrW Survival (myself)
UGR Threshold w/ Wastes (Dave Caplan)
    RGBSA (Mulletus)
    RGBSA (Quicksilver)
    Ichorid (Parcher)
B/G Suicide Black (VA guy, can't remember online nick)
    Landstill (Phil Stolze)

    Threshold beats Ichorid
    GBrW Survival beats RGBSA
    B/G Suicide beats RGBSA
    Threshold beats Landstill

    GBrW beats Threshold
    Threshold beats B/G Suicide

I lost to Lam Phan with Threshold in finals. Mull to 5 both games FTL. I'll have a report up soon. It was quite an interesting tournament for me. Thanks for everyone who came out too, we had a great turnout and the event was a blast.

Lam asked me to post on his behalf, so this is from the both of us:

We had an awesome time at this event. It was great to meet all the sourcers, the players were awesome, the venue was awesome, the prizes were awesome. Please let us know when there are other events like this in the area as we would love to come back.

Edit: He wanted me to say that it's spelled Phan not Pham.

Congrads Colin on making it to the finals and almost winning it, if not for mulliganing to 5 in both games. I guess Survival is a pretty good choice to play around here.

It was also nice to see such a good turnout for this event.

I had a couple issues with this event.

    A) No Smoking on mall property is frowntown.
    B) No toilet in store. Seriously what the fuck. I dropped from the event to drive home so I could take a shit because I didn't want to use the terrible bathrooms in the mall food court.

No Counterbalance. The creature configuration was Mongeese, Tarmogoyf, and some number of Trygon Predator. They ran maindeck Wasteland, Stifle, Lightning Bolt, and Fire/Ice. It was rough for me. I'd ask the people who piloted the deck for more information though, as I just base this off what I saw.

    Tarmogoyf
    Nimble Mongoose
    Trygon Predator (Sideboard)

    Force Of Will
    Daze
    Lightning Bolt
    Fire/Ice
    Rushing River
    Stifle
    Ponder
    Brainstorm
    Portent
(yeah, all three of those draws)

    Wasteland
    Tropical Island
    Volcanic Island
    Fetches
    (no basics)

Not sure on the quantities for everything.

I played against it first round and watched other rounds with him - every time he needed an answer, he would play a draw spell and it would be in the top three cards every time, or he would shuffle them away and just draw it anyway off the top. It was crazy.

The deck is totally redundant, an answer comes in many many forms. He probably wasn't looking for just 1 card, but 1 of a few. That's kinda how the deck works.

After seeing the contents of your list I noticed you had Fire/Ice. How useful was it during this event? There has been a few discussions (Format/Ugr Threshold) regarding this card and its relevance in the current Meta. It seem like the majority didn't favor it. Maybe you don't mind giving your take.

The contents of those posts on the UGr Thresh thread are the reason I have stopped sharing my opinion on the deck. When I previously decided to post on the merits of wasteland and stifle in threshold after the deck's resounding success at Gencon, it was not taken well and I felt as though I was not being listened to. I will not repeat the same mistake again.

I had a good time. I went 4-0, and drew in. I lost the mirror match in top 8. I won 24 packs. I beat: Goyf sleigh 2-1, Landstill 1-0-1, Cephalid breakfast 2-1, Suicide B/g 2-0. Four of my six opponents made the top 8, so it shows I didnt get paired against scrubs. All my wins came from my deck working great. I lost to Di in 2 games, the first one I jumped out quick, then drew land land birds land... he recovered. Then game two I didnt draw land. It was good time, and I have no complaints or regrets.
Survival will be good forever... kinda like a maraschino cherry.

I had a wonderful time at the event. I played BHWC Landstill to a disappointing 2-2-2 record. I think I learned a lesson in capitalizing on my opponent's mistakes. After a draw with Nantuko Shady, I couldn't buy a win, losing twice, drawing again (goddamn Landstill mirror), and playing against someone who forgot to drop and conceded the match.

For those of you counting at home, I earned one win.

LOL, no one is a bigger pedo than you. In a serious convo you said you would actually nail a 14 year old given the circumstances.
