I will do what I have to , so that my crew will be there.
The return of a Legend(in his own words)
ITS THE 22ND not the 15th guys. The 15th is a tuesday
wow you're right. Thats the last time I listen to my business partner. We even got into an argument over that.
So with a top 4 split, does that mean the top 4 automatically gets 125 each, or is there going to be a breakdown so the players have a choice as to whether or not they want to play it out. 250, 100, 75, 75, seems like it would be worth it for everyone who top 4's if they want to play it out. Something like that seems more fair than just forcing a 4-way split. 75 is a bit less than a dual land draft would pay to 3-4, but i think having a better first place makes up for it.
On a side note, I have no idea if I'll be coming based upon others in my area who are interested and/or work, so don't change anything on account of me, it's just my suggestion.
I'd go - but I would like clarification on the Top 8 prize support and structure - good indefinites make for good turnouts.
Yes, I realize this is a Legacy site, but as a vintage player who would also play Legacy if possible, I'm constantly frustrated by the fact that Legacy tournaments ALWAYS fall on the same days as the Mana Drain's posted vintage tournaments. Some of those vintage tourney's are posted up to three months in advance. Obviously during busy months when there are tournaments every weekend, there will be conflicts, but March has just a single Vintage tournament posted on March 8th. There were plenty of other weekends that could have supported a Legacy tournament without conflicting inbetween the two formats. And I'm not arguing that one format is better than another, it's just that I find it aggrivating that TO's don't appear to do any research at all before scheduling tournaments and it appears to me that all formats are suffering for it.
Anyway, since I'm no one of importance, all I can do is post my displeasure at not being able to participate and hope that TO's will take it into account when they plan their next event. One person won't make or break an event, but typically for each person willing to voice their complaint, there's usually 8-10 people who silently agree. 10 people can change alot.
Regardless, this looks like an amazing tournament and the 15th is a perfect date and I look forward to attending your event.
Madpeep makes a very good point. Saying that just because this is a Legacy site doesn't at all refute the point that formats close to one another like Legacy and Vintage should try to avoid conflicts whenever possible. I don't understand the train of thought used against the point Madpeep made in his post.
That said, because of the change in date, you can count on me making it out to this.

I agree with the dates conflicting with other tournaments. Unfortunately Feb/March had the Mana Drain, 3 PTQs in a row in the area, and GP Philly. That made scheduling a conflict for everyone. I do my best not to conflict with others events. I searched on the Drain for events on the 8th, but missed that myriads was the same day. I appreciate that these organizers decided to move the date, and I will be trying my best to get to this event.
For those who can't make up your mind, clone yourself. As for me I am supporting the new guy.

I think I will be there
I'll drive if we split the cost of gas otherwise someone else can, gas is killing my wallet as of late.
I do not know how many people I will be bringing with me. If I can put some people in my car to subsudize gas so I can afford the tourney. I will also have to (un)official www.mtgthesource.com playmat.
The return of a Legend(in his own words)
Hey guys. I just wanted to post on here to give people an idea of the store since many people haven't been there yet.
Die-hard Games is a great, great store. I've been around the RI gaming scene for a long time and Die-hard ranks right up there with the best stores the area has ever seen. The people running it really care about gaming and listen to gamers (hence they already changed the date to accomodate people).
I haven't played Legacy in a long, long time but I'll be going out of my way to try and go to this. It helps I only live 10 minutes away too :p
For those traveling out of town, I can tell you safely that the tourney will be a blast. I probably sound like an employee but I don't work for them (or anyone right now :p). I'm just very happy this store opened because the RI gaming scene was very poor beforehand and Die-hard certainly helps to rejuvanate the scene.
They plan on holding $500 tourneys monthly with various formats but in order for them to consistently do that they need your support. I strongly encourage Legacy enthusiasts to make the trip. It will be worth it.
Hopefully see you then.

P.S. See some of you at GP Philly this weekend. Feel free to say hi =D
