Elficidium = The slaughter of elves, and also a song by epic black metal band Nazgul in which a band of elves are raped and brutally massacred.
The Source: Your Source for "The Source: Your Source for..." cliche.
I originally got my name from the book by Orson Scott Card of the same name. I first started using it for counter-strike, wc3, and have been using it ever since. Oh yeah, it means death to strangers, a fitting name for pwning at cs and dota.
My username I use now comes off of my old b.net account except with a mod.
mercenary = always looking for business
bdu = tough and durable
in short: tough business
My nickname has its origin in Tolkien's world. I combined the Sindarin syllables "taur" = forest and "(a)elin" = lake to get Taurelin. It's also the name of one of my role-playing characters.
"My sky is darker than thine!"
SENTENCED - 1993
I'm sure some people already knew, but my name comes from the Final Fantasy series, where Bahamut(h) is usually one of the more powerful summons.
"Part of me belives that Barrin taught me meditation simply to shut me up."
-Ertai, wizard adept

My name mean's Porcupine Tree, it's one of my favorite progressive rock bands.
Dil-et-tante, ˈdi-lə-ˌtänt, n
1 : an admirer or lover of the arts
2 : a person having a superficial interest in an art or a branch of knowledge
Maybe this explains why I play around with 6-7 decks at the same time...
Mine's pretty simple. In a mockery of "1337-speak", I chose a name like |<i113R (or "Killer" for those of you who can't read 1337) and replaced it with an anachronistic term for the word. In the 20's up through the 50's, to "Deep-Six" somebody, was to kill them. Thus, I am a Deep Six'er, or "killer". Stupid 1337.
For the foreseeable future, expect to see less of me. I've lost my internet connection, and so I'll only be able to get on by siphoning free Wi-Fi from the surrounding areas. Which isn't always consistent.
Plus, the guy that I used to leech off of has now instituted password protection. This means that I effectively do not have internet at home. :(
Mine is fairly obvious.
Back when the internet was not teh suck (1996-1998), I used to go by Bob Dove, esq. (long story), and then Omerta. But the whole Cerebus thing fits too well for me to use anything else, really.
Well, my nickname has something to do with reallife actually:
My real name is Daniel and my mother is from Taiwan.
And when we went to Taipei, my grandmother and everyone else called me "A-Dan". Some years later, my father (who knows a lot about computers) was tinkering around with some E-Mail accounts and also gave me one.
It was adan [at]*dontknowthedomainanymore*[dot] de
And so I used Adan as my nickname for ICQ first and other email accounts and later for Forums in general.
A lot of people also think that "Adan" fits somehow better to me than "Daniel" and so it also comes that some people are also calling me Adan, even classmates and so on. But as long as they just connect "Adan" with my multicultural origin rather than with the MTG-playing "Nerd-Adan", everything's fine.
But I think Clemens' nickname "Der_imaginäre_Freund" which no-one could manage to write correctly so far seems to be more interesting for you, but I think it also has to do with videogaming at a LAN-Party where he almost ignored his teammate and just rushing his opponents. His teammate then said: "Damn, it's about tactics and teamwork! It's not about what an imaginary friend would have done!"
So it comes that Clemens is now "the imaginary friend" ("Der_imaginäre_Freund" in German).
Team SPOD
<Der_imaginäre_Freund> props:
Adan for being the NQG God (drawer)
Mine's simple. I thought Ihsan's Shade was bad ass back in the day. Not for the card, mind you, but his story. Good paladin of Serra gets all that he holds dear stolen from him by the Baron Sengir and is forced to give himself over to the darkness in order to save his family. Serra disowns him for his betrayal and the Baron curses him and sets him free out of cruelty. His family ignores his existence because of his curse so he dies and wanders Ulgrotha as a miserable shade.
I've been playing Magic since the week it was released back in 1993. I remember being disqualified in my first tournament match sometime back in 1995 for playing a deck with 13 Juggernauts and like 20 Basalt Monoliths. I spent my summers playing basketball, Sega, Super Nintendo, and, essentially, Magic cards - since I was 11 (with breaks, to be fair). I've played with the best and the worst. I've seen it all. I've played them all. But right now I'm basically in the Rocky IV of my Magic career. And there's a whole lot of Russian in Syracuse.
Just came up with it randomly, I'm not sure how. Sounds pretty cool. I first used it as the name for a card I designed at TMD's card creation forums (as the blue member of a five-color 'awesome iconic-creature-type legends' cycle), way back when. When I lost interest in Magic (I was a Vintage player, and this was after Gush was banned (Groatog was my favorite deck ever) and Storm and Mirrodin block entered the format), I started using it as my name in other regions of the internet, because I wanted something I had come up with myself instead of my old one which was lifted from Tolkien (Radagast). When I regained interest, I kept on using it.
(For the record, the card, as best I can recollect it:
Illissius, Sky Serpent
3UUU
Legendary Creature -- Serpent
3/6
Flying
You may play Illissius, Sky Serpent whenever you could play an instant.
When Illissius comes into play, counter target spell.
U: Remove Illissius from the game.
3UU: If Illissius is removed from the game [by its own ability?], return it to play.
Let's not get sidetracked into a discussion about whether and how overpowered that is, okay?)
SummenSaugen: well, I use Chaos Orb, Animate Artifact, and Dance of Many to make the table we're playing on my chaos orb token
SummenSaugen: then I flip it over and crush my opponent
Actually it was like this:
I was on a random 8-people LAN with friends, playing EE2. I was relatively new to the game but I figured it out pretty quickly and sometime around 3am we started the last game before switching to something more suited to everyone getting a little sleepy [from playing strategy games, not from not sleeping] (read: fast ego shooters). In that last game I rushed my first opponent in 5 minutes and some seconds (I think it was 34). The next day he wrote of this on the official EE2 Forum and he got flamed that the board was to be dedicated to strategy/gameplay/whatsoever discussion and not about the 'mad skilz' of his 'imaginary friend' (they didn't believe the story). Next day I registered as the imaginary friend (Der_imaginäre_Freund) to back him up and the nick somehow stuck.
Okay, I guess I'll just get this out of the way now. If you take the first two letters of each of the German basic lands in WUBRG order, you get my name. For reference, ebene, insel, sumpf, gebirge, wald. The mystery is over.

Eldariel is a Quenyan name. When I first made an account somewhere online (some 15 years ago, I think), I was under another alias (I was 7 at the time, mind). Eventually I read LoTR at the humble age of 10 or so and was quite taken by the story. Taken enough, actually, to read up on Quenya and Sindarin in Silmarillion and LoTR. I decided to craft an Elven name for myself and ended up deciding on Eldariel without a real grasp of the meaning. It pretty much stuck and I've used Eldariel on the internet ever since. Since then I've realized that it's a feminine name (and 'El' means star), but since most don't know it, I've pretty much just ignored the point. I'm known as Eldariel in so many places that it'd be too much of a hassle to switch it.
Since I've created the nick 'Elealar', 'Starlight', which I've used for my newer accounts I've opened (such as AIM or MSN-accounts), but it seems I'll just stick to Eldariel for the time being (EDIT: Probably that time being forever.).

I had just finished watching Final Fantasy: Advent Children when I registered for this site, and I thought Kadaj was a badass character. So I used it as my nick, although it hasn't really stuck elsewhere.
