Also, is anyone from 'Cuse putting people up in their house or should we plan on getting a hotel?

Better yet, as we are from the Northwest, and not the East Coast, we are polite and know how to shower and use deodorant!
Positive. That will be the date and when we secure a facility to house this, we will let you guys know in a separate thread.
I will also have room for peeps. 7-8 can probably fit comfortably on my floorspace. Clean people who will pick up after themselves please apply. I will show y'all where the garbage/bags is/are.

I will be at this & coming from Woosta (central MA) if people need help with transportation to the Quse. I expect to continue a longstanding tradition at big events of fucking something up in the last round of Swiss to definitively miss Top 8 and since I won't have to be to work until midnight Sunday (or even later possibly) drinking will be involved. Alex, can I shotgun your couch again? I will bring more booze! And I still believe that regional Source tournaments outside the Northeast on the same day would be a nice touch (with all the work falling on local TOs). So, local TOs, what say you? Ray (Iamfishman) already volunteered but RI/CT/MA should be able to make the Quse (although he makes a FANTASTIC resource for anyone new to organizing tournaments as he does the Vintage Waterbury & Legacy Mana Leak series of tournaments, i.e. some of the best tournaments anywhere, ever, in terms of options such as side events & trivia/other gamerly activities, prizes, and overall coolness).

True that Ray's tournaments are the best! Team Trivia 4TW!

A side note, at the last TMD's team Trivia What cards are missing from Hammafistroob's T1 deck was one of the questions. Needless to say we got the question right...
What's the incentive to hold it somewhere that's accessible to exactly Syracuse and Massachusetts, over somewhere around Columbus/Pittsburgh that general area, that's within a <10 hour drive of more than 50% of the population of the country, again?
The general vibe I'm getting from New Yorkers is that the answer is, "It's easy for us", which is fine, but doesn't really jive with the whole, "Let's make this as big and awesome as possible" altruistic vibe we started off with at the bat.
For my confessions, they burned me with fire/
And found I was for endurance made
I think it mostly has to do with how fucking hard it is to plan a tournament somewhere other than where you are. The logistics turn into a nightmare. I remember when I tried to organize a West Coast tourney in Portland, from Seattle, to make it the most accessible to everyone in the West coast. It wasn't until Volt (who lives in Portland) did it that it actually happened. And that was only a 3 hour drive away.
In short, it's really hard to organize a tournament in a state you don't live in.

I have a freakin suburban that seats about 10, so it could happen. I absolutely would consider some sort of plan. 21 hours of nonstop driving each way at $4.00/gallon in a suburban would suck, but it could actually be financially defrayed with enough bodies. But I doubt there are 10 people in this state to bring.Originally Posted by Nightmare

Planning an event in an area where none of us live, while appealing from a centralization standpoint, is difficult to do within the means of the people organizing the event. It's not like we can travel out to Columbus two or three times to make sure the arrangements are in order. Even if we limited it to like, one time before the event, that's a pretty significant trip to make just to make sure a space is big enough for 100 people (which I still feel is an achievable goal of attendance - how sick would an 8 round event be, though?). I think it's got to be somewhere where the people organizing live, which is either VA or NY. If we go with VA, we risk losing MA.
I am feeling some xtreme self pity right now...
Why wasn't I born in NY.... lol, well the event sounds great and I hope all you guys enjoy yourselves to the fullest...
I will be off wasting my money on the ptq season, and will be unable to afford anything else really... lol...
Although, if I blew a good chunk of my budget, I could make this event... although that is implausible and rediculous.
