Calosso doesn't need to be mentioned on slops because it's a given.
Wtf? Do you still have a grudge with me, for a reason I've yet to figure out?Originally Posted by ForceofWill

Team NeverWin: We just top 8 a lot.
Too lazy to post.
I was under the impression this was the first time we ever met, but maybe I'm mistaken. Besides, you have to give me a little bit a leeway. Administrator v. abrasive asshat poster (Well, formerly an abrasive asshat)? It's like I have to be a douche to you. :)
Don't worry though, I won't be losing any sleep over it. While I'm at it, good job on top4.
Hopefully James Peyton will write a report.

My post a few days ago.
I'm a good guesser.

One of the best Tournaments I have been too in the past couple of years. Kudos to all the Sourcers that put up the prize pool and organized this whole event. Which I believe was run very well, despite having been told hours before that they were not getting the larger room and then comming through with the larger room.
Props:
All my opponents for being really cool.
The tournament for being AWSOME.
Slops:
The downstairs of the leigion smelling like a poo factory.
The person who DESTROYED the toilet in the downstairs of the Legion contributing to it smelling like a poo factory.
Me for sucking at magic.
:(
Seriously though, I'm just boggled by Dreadstill. When I played against it with It's the Fear, I didn't have troubles except where I mulliganed to five with one land. Pretty sure it wouldn't take much to beat that hand.
Games two and three I destroyed him (no offense Rodney). Sitting on the other side, it felt like he had such an awful match against true control decks. If Counterbalance doesn't stick, he's in for a hell of a difficult time. Plus, Counterbalance doesn't curve quite right in his deck to fight other control decks. I honestly don't know how he would reliably beat things like Landstill.
Not trying to be a dick or anything, but seriously, how do you fight the control mirror? It seems like they can do most of what you do, but better. The one advantage you have (and a questionable one at that) is Dreadnought. Which is relatively fragile (especially post board).
Still though, congratulations on your top 4 Ben.
For the foreseeable future, expect to see less of me. I've lost my internet connection, and so I'll only be able to get on by siphoning free Wi-Fi from the surrounding areas. Which isn't always consistent.
Plus, the guy that I used to leech off of has now instituted password protection. This means that I effectively do not have internet at home. :(
I know who was responsible for this, but the name will remain secret (no, it wasn't me.)The downstairs of the leigion smelling like a poo factory.
The person who DESTROYED the toilet in the downstairs of the Legion contributing to it smelling like a poo factory.
And no, that didn't smell like a poo of any sort; it smelled like pure death soaked in ammonia. Like, hooded figure holding scythe looming in the hallway. I feel terrible for the person who had to clean that. They probably fainted walking into the bathroom.
You must also remember Dave ITF is Dreadstill's worst matchup. Landstill actually isn't nearly as bad seeing as they have dead cards against you (See Standstill.) The control mirror itself isn't that hard, but ITF is very difficult to beat with UR Dreadstill. UGR with Goyfs may be better, but at worst I'd say it's like 60/40 ITFs favor.
There was 5 of us who came down from Hamilton, Ontario and we all had a great time. I would not hesitate to come to another one of these events again.
Thanks for coming down, Hamiltonians.
“It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.”
