Thats actually a nifty trick....14 mana wouldnt be too hard for an elf deck, thats what like turn 2? (exagerated, I know).

I may actually give that a shot in my horrible green deck I have.

Are we talking limited or constructed? Like, Stifle is pretty damn near useless in limited, but constructed obviously has a different barometer.

These are some of my favorite cards.

These spells simply cannot be played according to their wording. There's a few more out there btw, and they have been errata to be instants.

IIRC the Portal rule book had some sort of hand-waving shenanigans that allowed you to play these spells according to their wording (at the time). It was a bit counter intuitive if you knew how sorceries worked, but it was basically a case of "Just shut up and do what the card says."

You could just run False Dawn instead.

My pick for "The worst card competition", "The worst creature contest" and "The worst art show".

With their p/t_to_cmc they are very useful both on attack and defense.
Their ability limits them only for ante games...
They are answer to any pesky artifact you or your opponent can play!

    But who are they...?

And the winners are Timmerian Fiends!
Here they come! Ladies and gentlemen, I ask you for standing ovation to Mr. Skull and Mr. Alfonso_Hitler_with_fuckin_antlers!

I like North Star. Even if you have tons of colorless mana, you're already eight mana behind from playing and activating this, making it rather useless even if you're playing Sliver Queens and Confluxes in your colorless-mana-deck (relying on North Star to be able to cast those spells).

Nice find on the Timmerian Fiends art...the similarity to Hitler IS scary.

More like ante another Mox. Then reanimate Fiends and do it again.

If we're talking about worst, I think we need to include all reasonable formats.

As a bonus question - how much mana do you have to pay for the reaper king when using the North Star ability to cast it?

    I'm pretty sure it'd just be (2/1)(2/1)(2/1)(2/1)(2/1).

    Teferi's Isle

    Legendary Land

    Phasing

Teferi's Isle comes into play tapped.

T: Add UU to your mana pool.

For a long time I thought this could never be tapped for mana. I thought phasing into play was the same as comes into play.

The card literally can't do anything. Way worse than Rakalite, IMO.

Combos with Pandemonium, or any other card that triggers whenever a creatures comes into play/leaves play.

    Re: Worst card in Magic

Any card that does something unique, no matter how terrible it may seem, even if it's a sucktacular drawback, can't be called the worst card.

It might just be Chimney Imp, actually.

    Re: Worst card in Magic

Not if that something unique is also useless and literally incapable of abuse.

There is literally nothing you can do to gain a benefit from Great Wall that is derived from the text of the card.

Chimney Imp is way, way better than Great Wall. If we were playing grab bag draft, which would you pick first, honestly?

I'm going to agree with you spatula. There are maybe 5 creatures with plainswalk and only a few ways to give a creature that ability. Also, why give a creature plainswalk to begin with?

Great Wall + Magical Hack. Protects you from Lord of Atlantis, Goblin King etc. Also useful if you play Ernham Djinn yourself.

Finn, are you REALLY serious when you say you met a guy who played Great Wall ? You should have taken a picture of him while he was playing with that deck !
