    What Was Your Classiest Victory?

I'm interested in reading some stories of people that detail some of the classiest wins you've personally earned/received

A classy victory will mean different things to different people.

My personal criteria involves some of these:

Something completely unexpected that neither player saw coming.

An accidental and humorous play on my opponent's part that both literally and immediately lost him the game.

Winning with an overly long combo that requires unique actions to maintain (It cannot be demonstrated in a loop.)

Winning with a card that no one should really ever want to or be able to win with (Bushi Tenderfoot and Barren Glory come to mind.)

Playing with Solidarity against a friend with a homebrew Zubera Combo deck (don't ask). He plays all the damaging 5c lands and has gone down to 1 life.He is going off and his kill is on the stack. Me: Turnabout on City of Brass.

    Me playing Pithing Needle,
My opponent sacking all artifacts on Arcbound Ravager in response,
Me playing Krosan Grip on Ravager afterwards.

This dude was convinced he would beat me since I'm not the best player around and he was sure to let me know. What a sweet victory it was.

playing one of the original TES lists I was at 4 and my fish opponent had 2 meddling mages (on tendrils/wish) and an exalted so I couldn't just empty and kill him next turn. I then stormed for over 20 using d returns and eventually cast empty for over 50 goblins and used plunge into darkness to gain enough life to not die to the angel and kill him next turn.

Winning 2:1 with RW-Rifter vs. TES.

I was playing a build without any combo-slots (no Chant, no Abeyance, no Rule of Law) simply accepting the auto-loss (not much combo in that meta).

I won the last game by
    - Blood Mooning his Mana-Base
    - Disenchanting his LED
    - EEing a few tokens once
    - performing beatdown with one Decree Token supported by Lightning Rift

RGb Aggro-Loam versus BGW Jank. My opponent was beaten down to three life by his Dark Confidants, but he had board position and was in place to win that turn.

On his Upkeep, his Bob revealed Vindicate.

I once faced Cephalid Breakfast playing Enchantress. I swear game 2 his Confidant revealed in order:

    Force of Will
    Force of Will

By now he's down to 7 (having activated City of Brass two times + fetchland). You name what he revealed on his next upkeep.

The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
    1. Discuss the unbanning of Land Tax Earthcraft.
    2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
    3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
    4. Stifle Standstill.
    5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
    6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
    7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).

Convincing your opponent that you can pay negative lose, in order to gain life, as -(-X) = +X, is not very classy.

Judge was wrong: Madness lets you "play" the Rootwalla, which Chant stops. Google it if you need confirmation.

For my part, I always enjoy winning at 1 life.

The judge was correct. Effects that last until end of turn end at the same time you discard. Which means when rootwallas trigger goes on the stack the effect is already gone. Note you can only get into this special condition if you have a triggered ability during your cleanup. Right, didn't catch it was an eight-card discard. My bad. ~NC

    Here is the oracle rule:

    314. Cleanup Step

314.1. If the active player’s hand contains more cards than his or her maximum hand size (normally seven), he or she discards enough cards to reduce the hand size to that number (this game action doesn’t use the stack).

314.2. After discarding, the following actions happen simultaneously: all damage is removed from permanents and all “until end of turn” and “this turn” effects end (this game action doesn’t use the stack).

314.3. If the conditions for any state-based effects exist or if any triggered abilities are waiting to be put onto the stack, the active player gets priority and players may play spells and abilities. Once the stack is empty and all players pass, another cleanup step begins. Otherwise, no player receives priority and the step ends.

Playing Landstill vs Tes. Game 2

My hand is ee, vindicate, vindicate with scrubland and tundra on the field with mage naming tendrils. He plays duress and takes the ee and drops 20 tokens in my face. I'm at 19 from a fetch so the only cards I can really draw to give me a turn are stp, bs into something, land to vindicate a token to buy me a turn or rip another ee and win the game out right. I rip ee kill his tokens and later on down the road he casts shusher to block my mage when he was at 5. I cast elspeth and fly over his blocker.

    Landstill Mirror:

I fof at eot and he splits the pile: stp, stp, land, possibly bs and ee by itself. I take the 4 cards and remind him I have academy ruins in play. Put ee on top and kill jace and ride the CA train.

I think everyone has a Bob story where they won because of an unfortunate reveal by their opponent.

    My story:

    Fifth Dawn prerelease:
Opponent plays Vulshok Sorcerer game 1 and forgets it has haste and doesn't ping me the first time he has the chance. He claims he will shoot himself if he dies while I am at 1 life. I win game 1 while at 1.
Game two, he plays the Sorcerer again. He says that he won't forget this time, but does. I win while at 1 again, knocking him out of prize contention.

When playing casually with my brother in law, he went ballistic on me with an Dream Halls, Mind over Matter, Time Spiral deck. This takes place after 40 minutes of comboing.

I am tapped out, have 1 card in my hand at 3 life, he is floating something like 60 mana and plays the last card in his hand, the 4th Time Spiral.

I reread Dream Halls and respond by bouncing Hibernation Sliver (my sole creature) to from my hand and remove it from the game for a free Dismiss.

I really like winning by disrupting a combo deck at the last minute through mana burn.

I can't think of my own personal classiest win, (probably something with Solidarity...) but my friend Rich Shay (The_Atog_Lord) had a good one... He has a Viashino Heretic and a Sower of Temptation that stole a second Viashino Heretic and is at like 2 life, he has no business winning this game. His opponent decides to Tinker for Darksteel Colossus and Rich goes okay activate Heretic, activate Heretic take 22?

I was going off versus Anwar playing Permanent Waves. I already Chanted him. I cast Diminishing Returns, and get garbage. I cast Abeyance just to draw a card, draw into LED with 2x Infernal Tutor in hand and win.

    DISCLAIMER:

This is not my play, but someone elses (I forgot who the person in question is), this is a Vintage match.

Player A has Phyrexian Negator in play and a Black mana open.
Player B has an Illusionary Mask in play with 1 mana open (or they have Illusionary Mask and an 0/1 face down card with 1 counter on it), and pretty clearly has a Dreadnought in hand (or pretty clearly has a face down Dreadnought).
Player A plays Demonic Consultation which resolves and names Black Lotus, gets it after removing a large portion of his library, play it, and then attacks with Phyrexian Negator.
Player blocks with his Phyrexian Dreadnought.
Player A then proceeds to pop Black Lotus for and plays 3 Berserks!
