Since they are test foils they'll never drop that much. I've seen a total of 4 and thats including my 2.

I think Occam has a playset of test print Cities and at least one Survival.

The Survival won't go down, as they didn't go up (much) when Survival prices exploded. They're rare as is, and there's only a few (less than 20, I'd assume) around. I don't think they'll drop to less than 800 if they even drop from ~1-1.2k at all.

If they got banned in Legacy and they dropped to a reasonable (1.2-1.5 a playset) I'd get a set JUST to play with casually.

Well, I've seen a lot of Exodus test foils, so there are comfortably more than 20 of each around.Very comfortably more than 20. I also own more than I've scanned even for CoTs and SotFs, just haven't bothered making scans of the rest yet. The same rules of thumb apply. Black-bordered = more expensive, observed multiplier is about 1.3x-1.5x. Playable = more expensive. Silver bordered CoTs/SotFs are about 1k each, latter perhaps a bit higher. These foils have settled for a very long time since they started off being ridiculously expensive, and even a ban on sotf would do no less than drop the price of a sb one to about 1k, maybe slightly less depending on condition.

The 16 test foils I sold went for $12,000. I didn't think it was too bad.

"Then" is the key operator here. Sets of Exodus test foils easily moved for 10k and up in the earlier half of the noughties. You'll be lucky to get half of that right now. I'd say you did pretty well for yourself, but speaking as a person who has a vested interest in seeing these be as highly priced as possible, no one can get those prices today. Or I would liquidate the majority of what I have in an instant.

I would much rather have his extremely well-done, one of a kind, hand-painted Badlands. No shame in that.

On a sort of separate note, I disagree with the concept that pimp = expensive. To me, pimp = cool looking and flashy. Foils are pretty much universally accepted as more pimp than non-foils. Black border is pretty much accepted as more pimp than white border. A lot of people like Asian or Russian cards because the writing looks kinda cool, and I can't fault them for that. However, I will never get why people think that Summer Magic stuff is pimp, or why English Portal cards are more pimp than Asian Portal cards. I reiterate, pimp =/= expensive, at least not to me. I guess that's why I'd rather see an extremely well-made altered card than another FBB whatever.
