I'm willing to step in and adopt a pair or two of lonely recruiters.

    Thanks.

Sadly, the only goofball here is who thinks a foil japanese Rhystic Study will hit 100$ in the future. While I see the rising interest in EDH, and I know how that card is crazy good in multiplayer EDH, I'm really shocked (but I can understand the trend) by seeing it hitting the 2 digits for a foil copy. 3 digits for it seems just foolish.

It's foolish, but the point is someone would pay that.

I figure Mind's Eye will see a reprint in the commander sets, though I doubt it will be a foil unless they make the whole thing foil and I seriously doubt they have that in mind.

They've already said that the only foils in the precons will be Commanders.

I know a gentleman that has 15 Candelabras. I believe he will be quite happy right now. Too bad I only have two, but they will surely help me on my playset project.

Hm, do you think it can hold this price ?

Would it be wise to buy some for 90 right now (just to sell em off) ?

I personally think Candelabra is the new Tabernacle of Pendrell Vale.

Except that decks, that want to play it, most likely will need 3-4 instead of 1 ;)

That's just it. Letting go of 1 card for $200+ (Tabernacle) is a whole lot easier than letting go of 1 card at ($100+?) when you need a playset. Much steeper hill to climb to get back in the game.

Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

The real question you ask yourself is do you really want to play High Tide? It's a pretty boring deck to play actually. You kind of just sit there and hand sculpt, then combo out in one turn. It's not much for interaction aside from Force. If you enjoy Tendrils styles, it can be fun, but not worth holding onto cards for a deck you'll never play.

In all honesty, I don't think we'll see much of this deck being played to the top 8's. It's actually a pretty tough deck to get good with. I used to play it a while back before the Spiral change and it's pretty unforgiving.

Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

I don't intend to play high tide nor do I view Candelabra as being a linear card limited to a single archetype anymore than I view Tabernacle as a linear card limited to a single archetype. Both cards can be included in any number of decks depending on what need/weakness needs to be shored up. Of course I don't put them both in the same box; Tabernacle is an answer, Candelabra is an accelerant/utility.

I can't wait til I get to laugh in the face of the guy who laughed when I bought a Candelabra for $50 a month ago.

Apologies if I come across as nit-picky, but in my opinion Tendrils is a lot better for opponents than High Tide. At least Tendrils ends quicker in a lot of cases, whereas HT has that tapping/untapping/draw-more-crap stuff going on.

But to get back on-topic, those Candles were in the #1 deck this weekend. So I would expect to see some type of spike.

What do you guys think is going to happen to the price of Time Spiral after Alix Hatfield's win?

Re: Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard

Seems it's going to be about a $30 spike on Candelabras. I can only find one for less than $100 now. I might have to pick it up if this continues. Doesn't seem to be much of a change on Time Spiral itself.

Good luck with that now, it appears that all $119-149 BINs just vanished into thin air.

    Mission accomplished.

Yeah, it's funny that I wanted a playset but couldn't bring myself to spend the $30-40 they seemed to be going for 6 months ago, now I'm tempted to buy a PSA 10 one for $175 (which somehow seems like a sound investment).
