I bought one Wasteland for 40 pounds and the other for 25 Euro... on one day...wtf... :P
Pounds? Euros?
I can't understand your crazy Moon language!!!
Also why is Vindicate $30 now?
I think the biggest thing is the deep seeded emotional understanding that the right play is the right play regardless of outcomes. The ability to make a decision 5 straight times, lose 5 times because of it, and still make it the 6th time if it's the right play. - Jon Finkel
"Notions of chance and fate are the preoccupation of men engaged in rash undertakings."
Vindicate's price has been steadily rising for a while now. It didn't jump overnight.

A lot of stores have started basing their prices off of their competitors prices. Each time one of them raises or lowers a price, many of the others immediately follow. I know there are even some stores that do this automatically. Each time a store that uses this method or is targeted by this method alters a price, they have manipulated the market, intentionally or not.
I'm going to have to show you guys an experiment sometime. It's not hard to change prices to fit what you like. It's scary, but true. We'll have to purposefully do it sometime to prove a point to people.
I remember dahcmai gamed the market a few years ago with Sea Drake. He mentioned it sometime earlier in this thread.

My MTG Blog - Work in progress
After having gathered pretty much all the legacy staples I needed to play the decks I wanted, I'm trying to get into EDH, and while most of what I wanted was under the dollar range, prices a few cards surprised me, apart from the usual suspects. This may be obvious to seasoned edh players, but coming from a legacy perspective, this can't but surprise me. Off the top of my head, obviously there are heaps more:
Woodfall Primus
Gauntlet of Power
Mana Reflection
Patron Wizard
Magistrate's Scepter
Defense of the Heart
Karmic Guide
Privileged Position
A few lands, too... Yavimaya Hollow, Winding Canyons, Reliquary Tower, Homeward Path... pretty much any playable land that produces a colorless seems to be worth something. Obviously when a legacy playable card is also an edh staple, things get ridiculous. Are the prices on this type of card speculative, or people really bought that much Magisrate's Scepters to drive the price up little by little?
In my (admittedly limited) experience working the booth last year at SCG Minneapolis, I was very impressed with how the supply side of the event was run. Casual/friendly and very, very efficient (or as efficient as you can possibly get setting up and taking down mountains of product each day). But God my feet hurt on Sunday.
@Dahcmai: Put your money where your mouth is, man. Sulfurous Springs at 20.00 or bust!
It would be rough to get Sulfurous at that price. You pretty much have to pick something that's already in a fairly short supply so you can buy it out constantly.
Lowering is pretty much flooding and convincing the vendors to buy those dirt cheap no matter what. It's been done before. Underground is a short supply one so it would be a pain to try that. Not to mention, convincing anyone to pass up cheap Undergrounds is a losing cause in itself.
I'll pick a 3 kingdoms card to jack the price on. Those are pretty simple to raise and there's a few small playable gems in the mix anyway. Also getting a decently known player to play them in a deck is the fun part. I'll gladly lend a set to do it.
