Eh, tbh any non-english foils are really hard to come by. I've been looking forever for a set of Portuguese foil Dark Confidants, and nobody ever has any. I just don't "feel" the whole Japanese (and now Russian) thing. They're not expensive because of rarity; they're expensive because of the perception of rarity, and I guess the fact they look different.

Very nice set, though. I remember when nobody wanted Russian foils. Not even people in Russia.

Yeah russian at one point was just another language like italian. Now there's kind of a surge to get foil russian cards; I admit I like russian more than japanese but that's because russian is a lot harder to find than japanese cards. Recently though I've taken to german cards. I just got a foil playset of german infernal tutors and it looks sweet. Now I'm just looking for everything in german foil first; I'd love to have a completely german storm deck. It'll probably take a while to find german polluted delta's and such but it should be worth it.

I've never seen a russian goyf or a foil russian goyf for that matter. I'd bet they're worth at least 300 apiece now if not more. Unless future sight wasn't printed in russian, which would be quite sad. Russian foil goyf would be so cool to have.

dahcmai, you should raise the price of dark ritual's for me. I only have 220 copies ATM that I would love to sell at 5's apiece.

its getting to the point with Russian foil where it would cheaper to buy a ticket to Moscow and trade
one of the big problems with Russian cards is distribution (and terrible postage from that country) if you know Russian mtg players it's relatively easy to get cards - but obviously these older cards are valuable

Actually if you'd get a ticket to Russia, it should be necessary to visit event like Nationals to have some possibilities to get something special, or you have to write petition to WotC to get GP Moscow once again to gather up all players with some cards for trade :)

this is amazing but also ridiculous in a way. i wonder what the situation will be in 10 years when mtg is still played that much and growing.

i wont bid at this either, too rich for my blood, bought too much lately and pretty much didnt sell anything except a handful of cards.

there are quite a few in Berlin, so I've found it easy to get German foil when I've visited (and obviously heaps in Tokyo, Osaka so Japanese foil is plentiful)

Are Russian Foil Goyfs also hard to come by? Is it just that there wasn't much of Russian Ravnica printed (I thought there was), or are they just hard to come by because people are not trading them away?

One dealer had Russian Ravnica loose packs @ Gencon for $6 on thursday, I bought a few and pulled some random trash and a Doubling Season. Then he raised them to $10 (I think) they were gone by Saturday. He had Russian Time Spiral for $3, I should have bought more of that and hunted for prime foils to trade to you foil junkies (Ancient Grudge, Serra Avenger, LoA).

japanese foil is actually a lot more expensive in japan than it is here.
japanese dealers are buying foil deltas for 650$ and selling between 800$ and 900$

Poole is a cool dude. He'll spend the time to talk, he's pretty old school as well with respect to the direction the art has taken (which I am as well). I had him sign some stuff I picked up at the con, and some older stuff (old FBB BoPs).

Wayne Reynolds was kind enough to sign a bunch of stuff for beer money but his signature is a disaster.

Franz Vohwinkel was really cool and puts a really nice signature on a card.

Chris Rahn was also cool and put a nice signature across a bunch of chinese Qasali's, robots and Swords.

I couldn't ever get Miracola, Susan Van Camp set a cap of 5 cards per person, and finally Dan Scott was there, he was cool but was bogged down altering Ponders.
