Its better against every other hate card outside of Leyline.

Or maybe it would be best to diversify hate all together?

...and why exactly should people play other hate outside of Leyline and Grafdigger's Cage? Cage hits all the Decks that get hurt by Crypt / Relic. -> ...and since when did we really needed a Grudge to win around Relic / Crypt?

I never have, but he might have, I am just trying to think about what their reasoning might be.

Hearken- Players of the graveyard inclined, shall you join me in buying every Grafdigger's Cage printed for the sole purpose of tearing them in little pieces?

If you are shelving the deck for this card you are not worthy to play dredge.

How is this card any better than leyline of the void, a card you can actually handle?

How is it any better than tormod's crypt since removing this card still leaves your graveyard intact.

I think the new card may see some maindeck play because of the current popular decks. So is it worth discussing main decking some form or artifact and enchantment hate?

Not sure if diluting the deck is worth it.

Just try to explode and go off before they can get it type of thing?

It just seems odd to autoscoop game 1 if they main board it.

So LED-Dredge is the only viable option now?
Just hope that they don't have Surgical / Cage, and explode in their face?

I don't believe so. I honestly think the lack of sleep is just making me go into "the sky is falling" mentality, so I a going to wait until its printed and I play against the card to make any decisions.

    Re: [Deck] Dredge

Doesn't seem too much better than an already viable option, Planar Void, so I don't think this will be the end for Dredge as an archetype by any stretch of the imagination. It's certainly better than Planar Void, especially considering Ancient Grudges already binned can't be cast and the fact that this is colorless, but I don't think this is the end for Dredge (although maybe I'm being too optimistic; this card will be seeing a lot of general sideboard play due to not only hating out graveyard-based strategies, but GSZ and Natural Order decks as well after all).

    1st off why so serious?

2nd. I was already planning on doing that. It was a general statement. I don't doubt Dredge will continue to succeed through another arbitrary piece of hate.

    Re: [Deck] Dredge

This card hits Dredge, Reanimator and to a lesser extent Snapcaster Mage and GSZ. Seems like they wanted to screw every deck that's good. The card should have a phrase that prevents SFM from finding Batterskull. Good example of how they don't give a shit about legacy when designing a card.

I expect each and every non-black deck w/o Snapcaster and GSZ to run this as their main piece of hate.

Guess Grudge has just lost a ton of value. Nature's Claim might be obligatory to bring in for every game 2 in the future...

    I'm not really amused...

Ofcourse it is. Planar Void requires black. This card does not. Leyline of the Void is an awkward card to draw because it's uncastable. This card can be cast and run comfortably along Extractions.

This is the best Dredge hate card ever printed. It's colorless, just like Surgical Extraction. I think we have a winning graveyard-hate package that can comfortably fit into every sideboard. And because of Snapcaster's popularity, people will pack it.
If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's probably delicious.

Just noticed how creative WotC are. I mean, they print a huge graveyard hoser in every block now. I guess they have someone who's only job is to invent new graveyard hosers for 0-1 mana. Probably a close friend of LaPille.

    Re: [Deck] Dredge

I dont think it is the end of the world at all !!!

We also got a powerfull weapon to adapt Dredge: Faithless Looting !!!

It means we have 8x Careful Study + 4x Breakthrouth working as a tutor to find our solution: Nature`s Claim. Furthermore, it is a key card for a LED-Dredge to explode g1, g2, g3 ... g10 if necessary !!!

I was already expecting an Ultimate GY hate like this soon, but I thought it would come in Avacyn`s set...

Wizards wants to keep the rotation of archetipes in all tournment formats, that is why they create cards and also ban cards ... new decks will show up, and imo this is really good...

It is our mission to fight this new challenge back and prove it is not enough to keep the Necromasters away !!!!
