So I've been considering trying to be more focused on getting Beta duals and was wondering where everyone thinks is the safest way / dealer to get them from online? Given how many fakes there are out there these days, I'm paranoid about getting burned buying from an online seller.

Of course, it's most optimal to get them in person so you can physically examine it yourself, but I think for most people that's generally not a feasible option.

All dealers are going to overcharge the garbage out of you, bar-none. I'd suggest just learning how to identify fakes for yourself and buying from people in person when you can.

Go buy a jeweler's loupe on Ebay. They're like a dollar. I use it now for all of my Beta dual identifying and it works very well.

Hah, I actually have a loupe and am fairly confident in being able to identify fakes. However, the amount of beta duals in this area is fairly low, so it's tougher to get them in person.

I don't mind paying a little more online if I can be certain it's real.

what kind of duals do you guys prefer?

for example i prefer mint fbb over HP beta and alpha. I prefer HP beta over HP alpha (since on HP cards it is almost impossible to find out it is was beta once before or not). but i prefer exc or better alpha over nm beta. where to set unlimited and fwb i am not sure, but unlimited over fwb of course, but i think i would put top mint unlimited same as fbb, but revised is the last, the only version i would never ever put into my deck.

today i received my alpha timetwister! it looked a bit better on the scans than it is in real, but since it is going into my deck anyway, it is ok!

exc+/nm- i would say!

and listed a few items on ebay since i need to get more alpha power coming! and when this task is ready, some duals aswell.

The place to get beta duals is Gencon. If you want a beta Bayou for example you can look at 20 different ones in 30 minutes if you want. In addition some dealers get cash starved trying to buy up standard feces. By Sunday half of them are just trying to get money for some PF Chang and the tittie bar afterwards.

Most will haggle a little and you have 4-5 big internet dealers you can use as a baseline. Even the big guys will haggle a bit if you have cash.

Of course make sure you know some basic testing techniques to make sure you aren't getting anally raided.

Finally ... Markers if you really want to take getting cards signed 'to the next level' you need to get them signed by the people who posed for the painting on the card.

I really need to get my drains and crypt altered and my Time Vault signed. I just cant seem to make it to an event he goes to, and I'm a little reluctant to send these through the mail. same thing with my Force of Wills..
