lol I just tuned in and at the end of G2 they both punted and counterpunted like I have never seen... wtf were they doing???
That was alot of back and forth'ing game 2.
1 game to go.
-edit- And it's a win for Goblins!
Primary legacy deck High Tide primer
Most of the opponents played fairly loose (part of it can surely be blamed on exhaustion, but still!) I still don't like 4 Goblin Piledrivers, and he was fortunate not to draw many of them against Jund, though he likely sided some out for Pyrokensis.
edit: nvm
Some quotes made me wonder:

The small number of creatures, along with their discardspells makes Pyrokinesis a quite un-attractive SB choice against Jund. So, even if I had Pyrokinesis in my SB I wouldn't bring them in for this MU.
What are others thinking about this?

/EDIT: I almost forgot it: (in case Max Tietzke is reading this) Congratulations on the good finish. Playing tight isn't as important for Vial Goblins as it is for other decks, so don't worry if you made a few slips.
MountainCaverns, Lackey, Go.

I agree with this. Jund's arguable top creatures (Bloodbraid Elf and Dark Confidant) is card advantage personified, and Pyrokinesis is innately card disadvantage. MWM is still the best 2cc here, but I still wouldn't side in Pyrokinesis replacing PD. I am a bit biased for Piledriver, I dropped them to 2 but rarely side them out.
I would sideboard out Piledriver against any deck that has blockers and lots of spot removal. I would most definately sidebord them out against Jund, because Jund has blockers, spot removal, and discard, and Piledriver is destined to be a red Squire most of the time in that setup. Despite my dislike of the card, Mogg War Marshall is obviously very strong here, against Liliana and all that. Luckily for that Goblin player, the Jund players forgot to bring their Engineered Plague this time. In fact, the 2nd place Jund deck have next to nothing against Goblins in the side. Maybe he will remember next time.
I agree that Pyrokineses seems bad against Hymn.
With perfect knowledge of my opponents deck in that particular matchup, I would probably side -4 Piledriver, -1 Hooligan, +3 Thalia, +2 Relic.
Thalia doesn't really help against Punishing Fire.. It's obvious that relic, pyrokinesis, swarming (MWM + SGC) and mana denial made Tietze win those match-up. Yes he had perfect knowledge! On a side note the Jund decks didn't run Engineered Plague, which would have made those games a lot harder.
Congratulations to Max Tietze for winning the whole enchilada! I stayed up to watch the stream and thought he played very well. I really liked how he sandbagged his Pyros to blow up Goyfs and just ignored DRS for the most part.

Were the 4 Ports good?
Why Relic over Rest in Peace?
Why Angel of Despair and not KGrip #3?
Great finish Max.
Anyone know how he boarded versus Jund? He boarded Relics and Kinesis in but what did he take out? Obviously 3 Piledrivers on the play and 3 Lackeys on the draw. I also think that he boarded TSH out but what else?
His main deck is exactly the same as his winner deck from last year except one Plateau for one basic mountain.
Classic Control Goblins rock :)
How did Tietze's Kinesis killed the Goyf G3 of the finals?
Goyf was 1/2 (land). Lackey attacks. Goyf blocks. Kinesis kills Shaman and deals 2 to Goyf. Goyf rises to a 3/4 (land, instant, creature). Lackey deals 1 dmg to Goyf (3 dmg total).
If Lackey deals the dmg 1st, then it would be on the grave before Kinesis resolves, right?
Can someone enlighten me?

First off congrats to Max. But for all you newer Goblins players those two matchups vs Jund are not at all how the matchup plays out. It is actually quite miserable if the Jund player has even the smallest bit of competence. I think you board out 4 Piledrivers 1 TSH and 1 Lackey for the Pyrokinesis and Relics.
