FOIL Jace TMS > power. It has begun.

If you cant foil out a deck entirely then you're just fooling yourself. No foil Alpha duals is a death sentence for pimping decks. It's also considered cheating by some judges.

A/B/FBB duals + FOIL (when available) is still sex.

I didn't know that 4 pieces of cardboard could buy a brand new car. Well done, sir. Russian foil playset of JTMS is amazing and not something you see every day.

Scavenging ooze was the promo for steam/iPad/android for buying DotP 2014. Pretty easy to find right now, you can get a playset on ebay for around $40/10 a pop/very little.

I did that set one by one after 3 years of searchs, I found my two first in 2011, and the two last this year.
Now I think there are 2 sets known in the world

The kiln fiend that looks signed is not. It's just some signatures from a tournament I played at, and I had all of my opponents sign it.

A change of pace:

I bought my first piece of power around the year 2001. It was an Unlimited Mox Ruby that I paid $100 for (still have it, actually it in the pic below). Over the years I had been picking up more power and at some point decided to go for black border. This past weekend at GP Kansas City I picked up my last two pieces of black bordered power - a Beta Time Twister and a Beta Time Vault. For the first time I have a complete set of black border power cards.



Below are some other notable pick ups in trades and purchases from GP KC. Particularly happy about that NM Alpha Demonic Tutor. (Think I'm up to 26 Unl duals now, rest in playset are revised- I missed the boat on A/B and I'm not into FBB):


Terese Nielson was there signing cards. Got my trusty old beat up set of FOWs signed. I've had them for probably 12 years. Most I ever remember paying for one was $9.:


I also purchased this original concept sketch for the card, Chill of Foreboding. It looks a lot better in person than in this crappy iPhone pic. Need to get it framed now:


And while I'm at it, here are some mostly recent pick ups (mostly from ebay - except for the Wheel, which I traded a Kabal Ghoul for about 10 years ago!) for a mono red dragon EDH deck that I'm finishing up. Nostalgiaville.:

I hear you on that one! I'm up to 38/40 for Unlimited duals, only missing 2x Plateau. I would keep purchasing them sooner than later, as I can see them as one of the next SCG price jumps.

Congrats on finishing your set of BB Power! White borders for me, sitting at 6/9 (need Pearl, Sapphire, Lotus), so I definitely appreciate a nice set of black-bordered power.

Yeah, I normally just try to trade revised duals + additional value for Unl ones. But it's difficult to find people with Unl duals except for big events like GPs. And I hate to purchase them at the insane prices they are at now. I got all my duals back in the day when they were a fraction of what they are now. About 10 years ago I remember trading a beat unl sinkhole for two mint Underground Seas. Those days are long gone....
