What advice would you give someone who wants to get into collecting seriously? Do you find most your finds on ebay or opens / pro tour stuff. I guess any advice someone would be willing to share.. would be amazing and super helpful to someone who really wants to step up their game.

Any advice for not having the wife lop your head off on MtG purchases is a tough one to crack also

thanks again! love seeing all the fantastic finds!

Win a lot and have your hobby support itself. Or trade a lot. I know people who make a thousand or so trading at large tournaments just between dealers.

Make sure you spend as much on your wife as you do your habit. It also helps if you have a wife who plays magic.

Why ask that kind of "analyze my life, finances and marriage" question on an anonymous message board? Even worse in a thread dedicated to degenerate spending on Magic cards?

was just a joke about the wife.. nor did i i ask about life and finances.. i need to not worry about any finance issues. It was more about trading and where to start looking for great finds. No worries though, was a question with obvious answers anways.. continue the posting ;D

    The teasing!

Did you happen to pick the stuff up from Jim? I talked to him and he said he has some stuff that's never seen the light of day.

Sometimes people don't want to be bothered by randoms asking if they have cards for sale etc, it's just a polite thing to not name names and point fingers.
Did I ask the names? Is it impossible to Photoshop a "Not for sale" or "Fraudulent auction" line on the picture? Or anything else.
    Nevermind, I won't bother.

So guys, back on pimp topic!
Recently I get some very interesting and lovely purchase, I payed nearly ten thousand bucks for the whole stuff. It was a mix of anything possible, ranging from mint Alphas through Korean Urza block boosters to sealed display of ITA Legends; as a cherry on the top, dude passed me his 100% complete Homelands collection 100% completely co-signed by Michelangelo and Micheal Jordan in blood of Gaius Julius Caesar.
    Sorry, no pictures allowed.

Chill. The reason why this happens, without coming across as pompous, is simply because there are certain potential ramifications of showing such cards off which everyone would rather avoid. Now of course, as I have title to the cards, I could give the equivalent of a *no fucks given* meme and just post them, but that defeats the purpose of whatever agreement I had with the seller. If it's preferred, I can reword by saying that while I can post pics, I choose not to. There are quite a lot of oddities which aren't supposed to exist, and often get leaked out in the same fashion say splendid genesis did. Some sellers just rather not get cards traced back to them, it's not a difficult concept, is it?

And as I said, there will be a scan of at least one of them. Without signatures from Larry Bird nor Cicero.

Hm, if those Aleksi signatures were in gold, those might've been the only really pretty signatures i've seen of him, but in black they look decent aswell :)

    Sure.

Bertoncini would disagree with Fraternal's flavour text, though.

One of my Favorite cards. I received it as a Secret Santa gift one year on here. Can not tell from the scan but it is foil.

    Thanks for info!

Ok, Occam, I get your reasoning. Just try to understand that such a cryptic post of yours is strange. Wouldn't it be better to write nothing? Because I fail to see anything interesting in post without pictures, cards' names, anything. It's like me saying "guys, me and my wife just bought something really expensive, but I can't tell you what". Not exactly thrilling...

Also I simply don't understand where's the trouble with naming of those cads, unless the dealer didn't want even this. (For a reason I also don't get, is it something that rushed from GMO laboratory or what?) But now I simply can't care less, because I'm completely fed up with the whole thing.
