Jeweled Bird. 1 mana to swap your Ante with a Jeweled Bird instead of a Lotus? SO OP!!!
Edit: Proof of OPness: Tinker for Jeweled Bird FTW!

If I HAD to pick one... Ugh Idk... When Elves was really good for a month I may have actually said NO. I also want to say Phyrexian Dreadnought. Not because it is too good, but because it gets people to fall into the trap of buying a dreadnought deck and finding out their money is wasted.
Didn't you hear? It's now tech for Goblins to splash blue and play Show and Tell for Conspiracy to let Goblin Lackey drop uncounterable TNNs and Phantasmal Images copying TNNs all day.
Most bannable from the lolzy list? Lion's Eye Diamond, imo. It only powers decks that like to play Solitaire.
(I've actually started to come around to Storm; a buddy of mine exclusively plays it, and I enjoy the interaction the deck offers when you're piloting a deck that can, you know -- interact with it. Playing Grixis Pyromancer Delver vs. it was a blast, and always interesting.)
Still, I'm pretty sure that any serious discussion to ban any card on that list would have to end with something along the lines of, "And banning this card will make my outdated pet deck better."
The proper plural must be "hall of fames." You wouldn't say Halls & Oate, now, would you?
High Tide decks in 1999. Frantic search was banned in 1.5 in September '99 when they banned most tutors, mana artifacts etc. responsible for combo winter and it has been on the banned list ever since.
I testet Frantic Tide quite a bit and have yet to come up with anything broken. FS ist strong in Tide but not enough to make the deck a DTB. And since the only combo decks that use mana from lands nowadays are Tide (and Elves) I don't really see a reason to keep FS banned.
@Megadeus: LED, because it does nothing except promoting fast combo decks. Or Goyf, because it has the highest raw power level.
Falling from heaven is not as painful as surviving the impact.
Of that list, I think Goyf is the LEAST banable over all. As suggested recently, TNN is basically a better beater now.
Power and amount of use would lead me to say Brainstorm however, that would trash the value of blue in the format... which may actually be good for MOST of the format. I think Elves would become to powerful though if Brainstorm was banned.
Indeed - of those listed in the poll, the two most likely candidates for banning are BS and LED. But BS is objectively stronger than LED because of the considerable flexibility it provides outweigh the downsides of potentially locking yourself out of the game. That ban would hurt the format's diversity by not only descreasing the consistency of combo, but also affecting the tempo decks of all flavors outside of Death & Taxes. And even then, it isn't likely to be banned unless the Modern influx to Legacy start howling ZOMG BAN BRIANSTORM NAO!!!!11!!
Brainstorm by a mile. It's by far the best and most dominant card in Legacy, any other card on that list is a joke in comparison. However, over the years I have learned that some things never change in Legacy. Among them are the butthurt "ban LED because combo" suggestions, which show obvious lack of understanding of both the format and its history.
