I predict a spate of Drawing Extra Cards infractions.

Eh, maybe sometime in the future. Spirit actually seems poorly positioned right now given D&T's relative position in the metagame and the fact that there's a bunch of non-targeted hate for one toughness dudes running around thanks to TNN. Decks like BUG or WUR Delver can very easily dispatch this guy.

But they need the answer in hand when she lands, otherwise they're a slave to their draw step until they can find a Bolt for her.

I can't even count the number of times when I'm losing board positioning and I topdeck into a Brainstorm and it literally saves the day. With a SoL out, if I don't have the answer in hand, I probably won't get it at all.

That's a joke right? You can't even cantrip into a Swords to Plowshares with Ponder while getting beaten for 3 each turn! This is possibly a backbreaker for control we used to know.

Aggro, I understand that SoL is a creature that dies to many spells, but lots of other creatures do too and they still see plenty of play. What happens when SoL resolves and you're not holding the removal spell you need in hand? How are you going to find your answers if you're a slave to your natural draw step while eating at least 3 per turn? And if played in D&T and Maverick, how do you kill SoL when they'll likely have a Mom out? You mentioned Patriot wouldn't have a problem with SoL, but Bolt and StP get blanked by Mom.

I am so in love with this card. I wish she had a place in Merfolk, because I'd love to hate on all of the other blue decks that get to take advantage of brainstorm but I am relieved she isn't blue, and am really glad that WotC listened and made a great legacy non-blue card. She must see play in D&T.

I'm preordering four the second I can. Never playing blue again! Junk is gonna be for reals!

Any non blue creature deck that plays white wants this, it hits fur three and makes people play fair.

I'm really glad it hates on all of the dumb griselbrand combos and most/all show and tell, that deck needed some wizards attention.

Reckon she might be worth splashing for in a deck like say, Merfolk? She is just so powerful, and I'm really happy they made her a 3/1. It makes her a formidable clock on her own.

Prolly not Merfolk as that deck is super tight. We will have to see if she is better or worse than Thalia and go from there. My guy tells me she is a little worse.

I mean, what does this shit on more than Sneak & Show, Delver, and Miracle control? Still a great card for DnT and should solidify its top tier status, but already a good batch of matchups for them; it seems like a godsend for Zoo as that group is exactly what shits on it (forgive my possibly inexact Zoo knowledge), without taxing their own noncreature spells like Thalia does.

Why can't both be played? Spread the love.

I think this is another card that is "supposed" to kill rug but won't. That deck does not give a fuck about anything and that is why it is so good. Currently it hates all if the 12 cantrip decks that don't play lots of burn and cheap counters.

Elves is going to hate this, tin fins, reanimator, show and tell, omni tell, sneak and show obviously, all of the new TNN decks will not like this card, jace might be dead.

Cantrips are fucking everywhere and this might give other colors some room to breathe. It is hate against blue, levels the playing field.

They can but if you are splashing for one which would you play? Goblins prolly still wants Thalia and Merfolk prolly would too with their strong mana denial plan(but they wouldn't because if free counters) Merfolk could play the spirit but would you sacrifice standstill/card draw?

I woke up today and checked the spoilers. When I saw this, the sleep vanished from my eyes and I cried out in pure joy. It really is a rush to get acquainted with a new legacy staple, especially when it hoses Griselbanned and blue decks. I really don't care about the rest of the set now. All is good. Thank you, Ken Nagle.
