It does not. The card has an explicitly triggered ability, as it is "returned to hand."

In which scenarios do you find Relic superior to RiP?
The only ones I can think of is VS: Cabal Therapy (Dredge.dec) and taxing counters (Reanimator), and discard by Reanimator, which won't catch an on the play turn 1 Relic. Ah well nvm, I think I just answered my question...anyway - what other upsides can you think of?

    On a slightly different note:
I think alongside 2 ETs rocking additional 4 slots for gy hate is overkill (especially these days). Imo you could easily get away with cutting one and make room for some creature hate, which indeed is almost inexistent in your sb.

Looks a lot like my list, but I have 3 Serra Avenger in place of the Mangara's and one of the Revokers. I don't run a Castle (because I don't own one) and I only run 3 Karakas (because I own 3...LOL). I think it looks strong. With the 4 Karakas, Mangara can be in his old glory.

I have also been running 2 Brimaz and 2 Crusader. I just can't bring myself to drop the Crusader in my area. Too much black and green going on. I think it will be a good choice for SCG because of all the RUG Delver we've seen in recent MGT Top8 lists.

Good luck bro! Have fun, kick butt, and take names.

Bears and squires have apparently figured out how to use a computer to post on an Internet forum.

That would be awesome. I'm still trying to figure out how 0 Mango and no answers to TNN placed 2nd. Also, why the Spellskite? Mom #5 that also covers your equipment? I actually like it a lot.

Because the flyer-heavy variant is better in the current metagame, even at handling TNN. Mangara is slow and also dies to -1/-1 effects.

Still working on the tournament report, but to answer a few questions I felt mangara was going to be to slow, but almost ran one in the board for more slow match ups. Running the spellskite was mostly for the jund match up, as it actually won me my round 8 match by protecting my RIP from a decay. For TNN I technically have a ratchet bomb which kills it, but it is mostly all my flyers that help that match up and even a brimaz can attack into it. One round against uwr delver he had a tnn with a bskull on it for like 10 turns and lost the game. Anyway should have report up soon.

    Re: [Deck] Death and Taxes

Crushed side events a good part of the weekend at GP Montreal.

    Here's my list

    Maindeck

    4 Mother Of Runes
    4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
    4 Stoneforge Mystic
    3 Flickerwisp
    2 Mangara of Corondor
    2 Spirit of the Labyrinth
    2 Phyrexian Revoker
    1 Brimaz aka Captain Kitty-Cat
    2 Aven Mindcensor
    2 Mirran Crusader (26 Creatures)

    8 Plains
    4 Rishadan Port
    4 Wasteland
    2 Horizon Canopy
    3 Karakas
1 Cavern Of Souls (22 Lands)

    4 Swords To Plowshares
    2 Runed Halo
    4 Aether Vial
    1 Umezawa's Jitte
    1 Batterskull (12 Spells)

    Sideboard

    2 Oblivion Ring
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
    2 Ethersworn Canonist
    1 Meekstone
    1 Manriki Kusari
    2 Spirit of the Labyrinth
    3 Rest in Peace
    2 E-Tutor
    1 Sunlance

Runed Halo did some amazing work this weekend. Probably my MVP. Meekstone took a lot of people by surprise and was pretty damn good!
Got my hands on golf clubs style StP this weekend. Yeah....Im pimping the deck since I shelved Elves! for an indefinite period of time.
Im gonna stick with that list for a while I think.

Only if you don't have Aether Vial. Aether Vial on 3 plus Mangara plus Karakas is good times. Also, this deck ends up playing the control role more often than the beatdown and has a good late game against many decks, so being a little slow in some areas isn't that bad.
I see more than others do because I know where to look.

I feel like D&T has an undeniable late-game most times. It just keeps on piling up until the opponent can literally do nothing.
