My bad I didn't notice the wipe away. But still in the era of all the hatebears (meddling mages, spirits of the labirynths, thalias etc) and rurics playing with maniac kill sounds and is quite a risky. I had to many games that without Emrakul I would have been toasted. Anyway I've been toying with the white splash for some time in the past and it was not a great idea. On the other hand I did not test much so if you could - share your thoughts after playtests :)
Hi there guys!!
Today I look an interesting article of Anthony Lowry about omnishow, take a look
http://www.starcitygames.com/article...Omni-Tell.html
I think the better version is without Jtms, more focus on the combo via DH or S&T... but I prefer ask about Jace :P
Regards, Joseba!![]()
In my own experience with the deck, I wouldn't play without Jace. The card is a fantastic answer to so many things that give us fits, like Eidolon, Ruric Thar, Meddling Mage, Spirit of the Labyrinth, etc. Plus it has the added benefit of being a must counter against any blue deck.
I was able to do a bit of testing on a uw version, and the conclusion I came to was that it is too cute. I liked that I got to play more intuition, but I don't think it was worth the added interactions it gave the opponent.
After reading the article linked, I must say that his experience is vastly different than mine with the deck. A lot of it might be because I went to Quicken early on, so my miracles, dnt, sneak n show matches were a lot more positive, bug I firmly believe this is the best show and tell deck I'm legacy. One change I am making is I'm cutting personal tutor for spell pierce, but overall I think the list bis pretty tight. I do like the points made about Noxious Revival, and it's something I might consider. I've been toying with my 15th sb slot for a while now
About the Jace: I think he is good but not here. It's better to concentrate on our combo and using the slots for crucial card for us.
@Horseman: What were you splashing exactly? I mean besides the silences?
Replinish, and maxing out on intuition main. It was an idea based on a Japanese uw Show and tell list I found on HappyMTG
No silence? Do you have a link maybe you can share? :)

This is the list I was basing mine off of. I was playing the more traditional omnitell shell with the replinish package, and the silence in the board

Round 1 v BUG Delver
Game 1, he lands a Delver on Turn 1 and flips it the next turn. He starts beating, but fortunately doesn't have any other creatures to add to the Board. I play through a Thoughtseize, use a Flusterstorm to deal with a Hymn to Tourach, and bait a Force of Will with a Show and Tell when I don't yet have either Omniscience or Dream Halls. My last Ponder finds Omniscience and I kill him from 1 life, with a Flusterstorm for protection.
Game 2 he leaves mana up, so I just drop Islands until he breaks the stalemate with an Arcane Laboratory, followed by a Delver of Secrets and a Deathrite Shaman on the following turns. I weather a Hymn to Tourach (hit one of my two EtIs and my Flusterstorm, missed my Cunning Wish!) and I wait until he's played his DRS and at the end of that Turn Cunning Wish for Wipe Away, playing around his counterspells, and in my next turn bounce the troublesome enchantment and ram a Show and Tell. He has a Flusterstorm, but I have plenty of mana to pay. Omniscience comes down and that's that.
Round 2 v Death & Taxes
Game 1, I am on the play, and go off on Turn 3.
Game 2, I am on the draw, and am soon facing down the usual Thalia. Two turns before lethal, I play an Omniscience but can't play any other spells due to Thalia's ability. With lethal on the Board, I Toxic Deluge to clear the board. He uses his Karakas to bounce his Thalia, losing a Revoker and a Mother of Runes. I Enter the Infinite, and in response he activates his Vial. Fortunately, I can Cunning Wish for Trickbind to counter the Vial's ability, and win from there.
Round 3 v Storm ID
Round 4 v Wr Painter ID
Quarter Finals v Wr Painter
Game 1, I go off Turn 4 after baiting a Red Elemental Blast with a spare Show and Tell on Turn 3.
Game 2, I go off Turn 3 with a Pact of Negation for his Pyroblast.
Semi Finals v Death & Taxes
Game 1, I go off without much issue, again using Trickbind to prevent any Aether Vial shenanigans.
Game 2, I am on the draw and he gets a Turn 2 Ethersworn Canonist with a Turn 3 Sword of Fire and Ice. It's a quick clock and he also manages to drop a Thalia and Phyrexian Revoker to help. I Toxic Deluge away the Board but he has a follow up Stoneforge Mystic off Vial at end of turn and I can't beat that.
Game 3, I am on the play with Show and Tell, Omniscience, Flusterstorm, Pact of Negation, Preordain, and two lands. I keep hitting cantrips but I don't find the Enter the Infinite I need to win. Meanwhile, Thalia teams up with Spirit of the Labyrinth and Ethersworn Canonist, helped by Rishadan Port, to beat me down.
BUG and Death & Taxes face off in the finals, with BUG taking it thanks to Dread of Night and Massacre from the board.
I really like this deck, and want to try the new frog-making instant from M15 (I think?) instead of perhaps the Intuition in the sideboard. Toxic Deluge was great. Thoughtseize wasn't used against Painter because I drew like a god and managed to go off quickly. Trickbind and Wipe Away from the board with Cunning Wish are excellent. I didn't miss Force of Will that much at all. I'm wondering whether I should be bringing in Thoughtseize in the Death & Taxes matchup over Pact of Negation or Flusterstorm; they don't seem to have many targets.
Thanks for reading, and thanks emildn for the decklist!
What is everyone's opinion on the list that top 4'd Kansas City (http://sales.starcitygames.com//deck...p?DeckID=70507)? Personally, I think it plays entirely too many counterspells, but I tend to like to play more on the business end of things. I also prefer to use Cunning Wish as a counterspell a lot of the time. One thing I am a fan of though is going down to 3 Leylines. Its something I've been considering mainly because it's effect is one that I'm not necessarily looking to mulligan for, but it's definitely welcome in the right situations (Jund for example). Beyond that though, it seems fairly stock. 20 lands is high to me, but I can definitely see the reason for it
It has 12 cantrips (seems good), four of each combo piece except for Dream Halls (common) and Cunning Wish (questionable). Maybe 3 FoW and put in one more Wish? Otherwise, I think it seems reasonable, and obviously did work for him. What changes would you have made to increase the business count? I would probably drop to 19 land and 3 FoW and add another Halls and Wish. Having said that, I just Top 4d a 4-round tournament not an SCG Legacy Open...

Been there, tried that, still casting Doomsday.

Against Death & Taxes, would you consider boarding out counterspells for Thoughtseize?

Four Flusterstorm and three PoN out, one Swamp, two Deluge, and one Wipe Away in. I am short three cards to bring in, hence my thoughts about Thoughtseize. Thanks for your thoughts.
As anyone whose read this thread probably knows, I'm a HUGE proponent of Jace in OmniTell. I'd probably cut the 20th land and a Counterspell for them. As far as the 4th wish goes, I'm a fan of it, but I understand playing only 3. It can be a super clunky draw in a lot of situations
I am thinking of changing to the following sideboard:
1 Laboratory Maniac
1 Research//Development
1 Firemane's Foresight
2 Wipe Away
1 Trickbind
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Pact of Negation
2 Toxic Deluge
4 Thoughtseize
1 Swamp
I didn't use Slaughter Pact and really want to try Polymorphist's Jest, but two Wipe Away allows you to bring one in and keep the second in the board to Cunning Wish for. It seems like the most versitile option.
