With my build 54 core with 3 chain, 1 forked, 2 spell pierce I side like the following:
*sideboard*
1 ancient grudge
1 destructive revelry
2 grafdigger's cage
2 rough
1 sulfur elemental
1 vendilion clique
1 sylvan library
2 flusterstorm
2 pyroblast
2 submerge
Miracles
-4 daze, 1 forked bolt, 1 chain lightning, 1 tarmogoyf // + 2 pyroblast, 2 flusterstorm, 1 vendilion clique, 1 destructive revelry, 1 sylvan library
Some people will probably disagree with me on this about taking the dazes out even on the play. Just in my experience we can't deny them mana really as we need to save stifles for miracle triggers. On top of that most of the time they have mana to play around it or top decking it late game is just horrible.
I have been told by one of the best miracle players around at my store to keep them in otp because he says miracles doesn't have time to play around it otd. So I'm not sure, but overall I've found that boarding plan to work pretty well. Daze is just bad, we don't want all that burn because we need more permission against miracles. Goyf becomes our worst creature post board once they bring in RIP so I board 1 out maybe a second one for Sulfur elemental would be worth it. Flusterstorm isn't at it's strongest here but being able to still counter stuff regardless if they have a lock on the table is a great bonus to it almost being a force of will. Hope this helps.
Yeah, this sb tactics seems pretty good.
I was MIA, so I used to keep Dazes in when I came back threshing. It took me some time until I realized how bad they are even on the play, and since then I always side them out both otp and otd. They got some merit on play as you might hit CB, Top or even Jace, but they usually don't matter at all, as Miracles got pretty firm manabase and can't be easily out-tempoed. Most of the matches are grindfests - unless one or the other player is really really ahead since turn1 - and ou topdecks are already awful enough even without Daze.
I got two Needles in my board, so I'm far more likely to take the Dazes out otp, becasue I may still hit the SDT that I was unable to counter. Otoh, I feel like naked againt CB with only a handful of counterspells and no real naswer outside of Pyroblasts.
My list is as follows, and I hardly ever make any changes, as I'm lazy and don't have much time for testing; moreover my metagame is full of DRS and SFM, so the FBs are pretty useful. (No, I won't switch to more burn-heavy version, because the rest of meta are some Strom and control variants with and elves here and there, so the blue cards and FBs count.)

With this settings in a deckbox, and your advices in mind, I'd sb like this:
otp:
+2 Pithing Needle (SDT only, but we need it)
+2 Flusterstorm (Terminus, EtA, early StP)
+3 Pyroblast (Miracles.dec)
-2 Forked Bolt (easy guess)
-1 Wasteland (we don't need it and it only cats Goyf)
-1 Daze (Bad topdeck, but might be useful on turn1-3)
-3 ?
Ok, so should I take out the rest of Dazes? They seem like a sure cut, otoh I'd love to have as many cards against CB as possible. One possibility isto cut one Goyf (it's a bad creature after all, esp. considering RiP, yet it's one of my very few threats, so...), one more Wasteland (it casts nothing else then Needle and Goyf) and a second Daze, but then again the whole idea of "catch something early with your lucky-boy's Daze" becomes questionable.
Was it wcm8 who argued that we should always keep one Daze in for the surprise factor and to make our sidevoarding less transparent? Is it reasonable? I'm not sure if I like the inconsistency that it brings, otoh, I love what Daze does and I'm not sure I want to get rid of it completely.
otd:
That's much more easy:
-4 Daze
-2 Forked Bolt
-1 Wasteland
+2 PNeedle
+2 Flusterstorm
+3 REB
There's not much to think around otd, and Dazes are clear cut here. I may once again consider cutting Goyf (if I need space for e.g. Grudge or Mutation in case they use BSkull), but other than that, I don't think we need to cut/add anything else.
Also, I'm not a fan of both VClique and elemental, they're too expensive for our crappy manabase and tempo plan, but yeah, they're powerful...
After playing with 8-Bolts, Gitaxian Probe and 2/2/2 list, I've been trying something a little different. I call it "7-bolt and a Fairy Tale".

Basically moved two Vendilion Cliques maindeck, which are really good against a lot of decks. The upside is that I can mess up with combo and Stoneforge decks at pretty much no drawbacks, while still providing a fine clock and being an awesome topdeck in the late game. The downside, obviously is that 3CMC can be very prohibitive against many decks that use mana denial.
What do you guys think?
Let your Dredge 6 be: Narco, Narco, Narco, Bridge, Bridge, Dread Return
I think that it's fine. I wanted to try it for quite a long time, as I'm less and less satisfied with goyf, namely after TNN printing. But I don't have a second Clique because I sold the excess pieces after it went up.
The downside of cmc3: well it is bad, but otoh you may tap out eot, so it doesn't hurt that much... if only you got those three mana in first place, but that's another story.
I'm still unsure about the lacking Spell Snare, that card is pretty good, but yeah, one cannot have everything.
Overall that board plan seems fine needle definitely makes this match up a lot easier. Sulfur elemental I don't think is as good as some people say for this match up, but we do need threats. If it comes down to shaving a chain lightning for sulfur elemental I'm choosing chain though. One thing despite VClique being 3 mana it's stupidly good here. Having added insurance for if they try to miracle is always good and it's a clock if you have it in the board bring it in. Plus we don't have to worry about wasteland so they're pretty easy to play in this match up.
Hey what do you guys think about something like this:

sideboard 13/15 Not quite sure what the other 2 sideboard cards that would normally fluctuate between something like VClique / library / sulfur / needle etc.
1 ancient grudge
1 destructive revelry
1 grafdigger's cage
3 pyroblast
3 submerge
2 rough // tumble
2 flusterstorm
I'm thinking about trying the whole 3 stifle plan. It's been something that I though was horrible, but Stifle is the most controversial main deck card if you will. I mean Stifle provides some amazing blow outs, but other times it's lack luster or sometimes just dead. The list is somewhat reminiscent of Jessy Hefner's list (at least main deck) that he had at the invitational:
http://sales.starcitygames.com//deck...p?DeckID=65490
I just moved the snares/Fire/scour he had into the 8 bolt suite along with changing the creature base up some. Sylvan Library in the past has done wonders for me and the singleton VClique main that some lists have been running looks worth trying out. The 8 bolt plan along with the library are more personal preferences, but they have proven their merit to me.
8 bolts + library is fine as a plan because against miracles and other slow decks you can just become a burn deck.
As far as the rest of the deck, it seems fine in a big fan of at least one more threat that doesn't care about the grave.
Library is fine even if not used in the main very often any more.
With more burn and threats you can play the mid-game a little better then a list with more counters and stifles which try to out-tempo the opponent as hard as possible.
What trollking wrote.
I'm once again a bit worried about missing Spell Sanre, but that's me and my metagame full of goyfs, hymns, ITs and SFMs. You may counter non-creature spells with SPierce, and with eight burn and Library on top of that, you should be able to burn your way through.
For sb I definitely support Needle. Two words: Top and Liliana.
I've definitely resorted to the burn plan before and to say the least it can really piss people off hahaha. VClique and to a lesser extend Library are both great "threats" that don't rely on the graveyard.
Spell snare is great at what it does, but I've always been a bit disappointed with how narrow it can be sometimes. Hymn, ITs and SFM I don't really care about because pierce/bolt can deal with them. Tarmogoyf though is the one creature outside of bolt range that RUG has always had problems with and while snare does help with this I just don't like how narrow it can be. Needle may very well make the sideboard I still think there's some hope for it making main deck just not sure how to go about building that version.
The best idea seems to be a miser's Snare, one that "always" got some target, but never clogs the hand.
On Needle: well, it's no like Trinket Mage is good anymore, so maybe just throw the Needle in and hope for some cantrip action in case of need. I'm still unconvinced on the Probe-Needle builds, especiall becasue the numbers are bit too daunting. Spending 4-6 slots on what might be just a Cool Thing. Idk...
I applaud the recent posts trying to evolve the deck not by changing it drastically, but by suggesting rather prudent yet subtle changes to make it more formidable in the present metagame.
Indeed, I concur with recent posts pertaining to both Sylvan Library ("Library") and Vendilion Clique ("Clique") being viable and quite playable options for this deck, maindeck right now based on the present metagame.
With less and less pure aggro in the metagame which is compounded by so much combo, control and graveyard ("gy") hate being predominant in the format right now, Tarmogoyf ("goyf") is not the card it once was in this deck. That being said, it is still a powerhouse and it would be insane to cut goyf; however, cutting down in goyf numbers based on the foregoing may be sound strategy at the moment.
In addition to not being affected by gy hate, Clique is just so effective against so many decks right now in the present legacy metagame that it is just too hard to keep sidelined in the sideboard.
Playing 6-8 burns spells (i.e. 4x lightning bolt and some number of chain lightning) along with a singleton Library also makes this deck much more stronger where it traditionally had been weak, i.e. mid to late game.
It is also noteworthy to mention that Deathrite Shaman has to die immediately! By having some number of Chain Lightning to compliment Lightning Bolt is quite comforting and I would respectfully submit necessary at the moment. Furthermore, the ability to finish games with burn also dramatically improves from a consistency perspective with more burn and moreover, the addition of Library makes this a tangible threat.
My only concern, however, is perhaps an obvious one which has already been readily raised and pointed out, land/ mana! Indeed, three (3) mana and double blue for Clique in a field full of Wasteland is dangerous to say the least. Therefore, is going up to perhaps 19 land, adding an additional blue source a viable and prudent option if this deck sports 2x Clique in the main deck for metagame reasons?
To be the man, you gotta beat the man!
I've been rocking 1 TNN in the main for about a 2 months and have had very few issues with the mana cost, with just 2 cards that have cmc 3 I don't imagine it would be a problem. Some post board games I have gone all the way up to 1 K-Grip 1 Clique 2 TNN and still not had a problem.
Occasionally it does change your ponders and brainstorms a little, but normally when I'm aggressively looking for the third land it's because that card is necessary in the match up, otherwise I can wait to naturally draw the land.
@clique
Double blue isn't a concern, all of our lands can produce blue. Getting to three mana is the problem. But Clique isn't a turn 3 play, most of the times (unless you're facing Stoneforge Mystic on the play, or against Sneak and Show). Clique excels at killing Liliana and Jace, can trade with Delver and non-equpped Serra Avenger. I think 18 lands should be fine, as long as you are not relying on casting Clique on T3.
It doesn't replace Tarmogoyf as a beater, it's just a mid-game Delver of Secrets #4~#5 that can semi-Thoughtseize your opponents.
@library
I find Sylvan Library good in matchups that tend to be grindy. This deck excels in the early game, we usually have the opponent dead or disabled by turn 4~5. Sylvan Library is only needed in matchups that can survive our early disruption, mainly BUG Delver and Miracles.
That being said, I think Sylvan Library should only be maindeck material if those decks are common in your metagame. If not, a single copy in the sideboard can be fit.

G1: (Hand: Polluted Delta, Volcanic Island, Ponder, Nimble Mongoose, Daze, Daze, Stifle)
I keep this fairly good hand. I know he's on DnT so I start with Volc into Ponder, shuffle, draw Lightning Bolt. He goes for T1 AEther Vial off Rishadan Port, which I Daze. I play Polluted into Tropical and play Mongoose. He plays Plains and casts Stoneforge Mystic, which I allow, and fetches Batterskull. I play Volc -> Bolt his Stoneforge, attack with Goose. He doesn't play a land, ships the turn back, and Ports my Tropical Island in the upkeep. I draw Wasteland, and waste his Port, beat with Mongoose again. He can't seem to draw a land for 3 turns, and I Daze his second Mom. By the time he can cast another spell, I brainstorm into two burn spells and finish him off.
Sideboarding: -4 Daze -1 Spell Pierce -1 Stifle +2 Rough/Tumble +1 Null Rod +1 Sulfur Elemental +1 Artifact Mutation +1 Ancient Grudge.
G2: (Mulligan to 6, hand: Flooded Strand, Brainstorm, Brainstorm, Delver, Ancient Grudge, Force of Will)
My first hand had 5 lands, so I had to mulligan. He starts with Karakas and AEther Vial again, which I allow. I draw Lightning Bolt and have a hard decision: If I play Delver and get wasted, I'm pretty much knocked out. Still, I like to live dangerously and jam the bug into the battlefield. He ticks his Vial to 1, plays a Plains and cast Stoneforge Mystic, which I allow again, and fetches Batterskull. My Delver flips with Rough/Tumble and I bash for 3. In the second mainphase, I play Brainstorm, which draws me two fetches and one Chain Lightning. I put back Chain Lightning and one fetch, play the other fetch. He ticks his Vial to 2, play another Plains and pass. I untap, draw another fetch, play it. I attack with Delver, he tries to Swords to Plowshares it, I Force pitching Brainstorm. He tries activates Stoneforge EOT and I Ancient Grudge it. He ticks his Vial to 3, plays no land and attacks with Stoneforge, pass. I flashback Grudge in my upkeep, targeting his Vial, he plays Mirran Crusader off it. I draw Wasteland, waste his Karakas, he doesn't float mana off it. Crack my second fetch for my second Volc, cast Rough Tumble, wipe his board. He draws, plays Wasteland and waste my Tropical Island, play Serra Avenger. I draw Spell Pierce, Bolt his Serra Avenger, attack with Delver. He hardcast a Jitte next turn, which I allow, since he has no creatures. His last play is to try to Swords to Plowshares my delver again, but I Spell Pierce it, he can't pay. Delver goes all the way.
R2: Oops all Spells (2-0)
Dice: Won
G1: (Hand: Volcanic Island, Force of Will, Force of Will, Nimble Mongoose, Ponder, Stifle, Wasteland).
I don't know what he's playing, so I just play Volcanic Island and pass. He plays a Chrome Mox into Dark Ritual, into Elvish Spirit Guide and casts Undercity Informer, I allow, he triggers his ability, I Stifle, he sighs. I Ponder into Tropical, Goyf, Spell Pierce. I draw Tropical, play Goose. He has only a Chrome Mox in play, draw and passes. I draw Goyf, play Wasteland and play Goyf, leaving Volc up. He keeps draw -> go for three turns, while I'm beating fast. By the time he tries to combo out again, I have 2 Force of Wills, 1 Spell Pierce, 1 Daze, good luck mate.
Sideboarding: -3 Chain Lightning +1 Flusterstorm +1 Grafdigger's Cage +1 Tormod's Crypt
G2: (Mulligan to 6, Hand: Grafdigger's Cage, Delver, Delver, Flooded Strand, Vendilion Clique, Ponder).
He can't combo turn 1, thanks to Jesus, I suppose. I play fetch -> Volcanic Island and cast Grafdigger's Cage. He scoops in response, as he can't win without Dread Return.
R3: Sneak and Show (2-0)
Dice: Lose
G1: (Hand: Vendilion Clique, Bolt, Bolt, Flooded Strand, Flooded Strand, Brainstorm, Spell Pierce)
He plays turn 1 Volcanic Island into Ponder. I play fetch, pass. He plays City of Traitors and casts Show and Tell, I Spell Pierce, he doesn't counter it. I draw Wasteland, Waste his Volcanic Island. He floats City of Traitors, play fetch -> Island, cast Brainstorm. He plays Gitaxian Probe, I Brainstorm in response, drawing Tarmogoyf, Daze, Tropical Island, I put back Bolt and Clique, let him see the other cards. I draw Clique play Tropical into Goyf, pass. He plays Ancient Tomb, pass. I draw Bolt, play fetch, attack with Goyf pass. He plays Mountain, cast Sneak Attack. I float mana off Volcanic Island, cast Daze. He Force of Will pitching Intuition, Sneak resolves, pass the turn. I use the mana floating to bolt him twice. He's at 7 life now (-2 GProbe, -2 Ancient Tomb, -3 Goyf, -6 double Bolt). I attack with goyf, he's at 4. He plays Ponder, activates Sneak Attack, I Clique in response and take away his Griselbrand, he doesn't draw another creature. He concedes.
Sideboarding: -3 Chain Lightning +2 Red Elemental Blast +1 Flusterstorm
G2: (Hand: Force of Will, Force of Will, Delver, Stifle, Polluted Delta, Volcanic Island, Brainstorm).
He plays Scalding Tarn, pass. I play Volcanic Island pass, he plays Ancient Tomb, fetches and I Stifle. I play fetch, cast Delver pass. He plays another Ancient Tomb, pass. Delver flips with Spell Pierce, draw it, attack. He plays Mountain, casts Through the Breach, I fetch into Tropical, Spell Pierce. He Forces, I Force back pitching Brainstorm, he tanks and concedes showing Daze in hand (but no Island to cast it).
R4 Death and Taxes (0-2)
Dice: Lose
G1: (Hand: Delver of Secrets, Flooded Strand, Nimble Mongoose, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Spell Pierce, Tarmogoyf)
This hand is weird, no cantrips and only one land, but I'm on the draw, and double Bolt makes me confident. He starts with Plains into AEther Vial. I draw Stifle, play Flooded Strand into Delver of Secrets. He ticks Vial to 1 plays Wasteland, wastes my Volcanic Island, Swords my Delver. Damn. I draw no land, pass. He Vials Mom EOT. He plays another Plains and cast Stoneforge Mystic, which I scoop to.
Sideboarding: -4 Force of Will -1 Daze -1 Stifle +2 Rough/Tumble +1 Ancient Grudge +1 Artifact Mutation +1 Null Rod +1 Sulfur Elemental
G2: (Mulligan to 5, Hand: Tropical Island, Tropical Island, Nimble Mongoose, Sulfur Elemental, Lightning Bolt)
After a double mulligan, I know I'm doomed. I start with Tropical into Mongoose, he starts with Plains > Mom. I draw Stifle, play another Tropical Island, attack with Goose. He plays Karakas > Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, pass. I draw Brainstorm, cast it, draw Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Daze. No lands. No Red mana. Brainstorm locked. He plays Rishadan Port > Mirran Crusader and I just scoop.
I get #4 out of 18 players, and win 30$ store credit.

Let your Dredge 6 be: Narco, Narco, Narco, Bridge, Bridge, Dread Return
@vandalize: grats on the finish! im sporting the almost same list like yours.
last sunday i played with teammates and won a Kiora crashing waves PW via topping the 8 man playtest round robin (6-1)
decks are RUGDelver (me), esperdeathblade (2-1), evagreen (wastenots/drs/goyfs) (2-1), bgrock (2-0), dredge (2-0), miracles (2-1), monou dreadnought (1-2) and jund (2-0).
my only lost was a game 3 mulligan to 4 vs monou that carries a cbtop lock, standstills, show to emrakul..wherein i didnt able to get a clock vs this slow deck, thus making it easier for him to setup his wincon via sensei advantage..1 game too vs evagreen wherein opp down to 6 and me down to 3 match3, i blindflipped my delver to a bolt for the win!
i up'ped goyf count to 4 expecting burn, but none showed...i also brought a 13 crit list coz of just so many crit hate vs my low count clock...
LIST:
creatures (13): 1 tnn, 1 vcliq, 4 goyfs, 3 goose, 4 delvers
spells (29): 3 stifles, 3 pierces on 7 burn package (4 bolts, 1 tarfire, 1 forked, 1 fice)
lands (18)
sb: 2 submerges, 1 dismember, 2 roughs, 2 grafs, 2 needles, 1 sulfur, 1 Agrudge, 1 Drevelry, 3 pyroblasts
still, ive had no issues running a 2x 3cc crits, when in doubt i can always fow fodder them, instead saving my cantrips to get me back..on a large tourney i might cut the 4th goyf though ive had consistency drawing any sort of clock with this list..with 4 goyfs, i switched back my 2nd forked to tar..if im on 4 goose, itll be another forked. the needles helped in lots of ways, except the fact that it cant flip delvers..but gave me permanent answers to things i hate...drs/lotv...lone and cliq was key too in some matchup wherein goyf nor goose was outclassed.
after playing UGinfect the last weeks, my trops tricked most of em and thought of me having no stifles, that was the fun part here!

while playing, i would always simulate the lone TNN to the 4th goose, numerous times it proves it's worth (tnn) since goose can be easily outclassed by a resolved drs, and while unthreshed it really is nothing. tnn can push the last points of damage, can hold its own vs batterskull, kotrs and goyf wars..both are terrible vs any unfair, but tnn has its application still for our fows... the 1 of's tnn and cliq makes a huge difference compared to the old stocklist ive been using..it always have something different to offer..
some key points ive experienced (tnn/goose) last sunday..
: pushed damages through entreat tokens when goose cant..
: held batterskull for several turns, allowing me to find time searching for artifact removal..
: ahead of clock, but facing 2 goyfs (vs evagreen).. managed to connect several punches still to get me bolt range, when my 2 geese serves as blockers.
: saves my mini horde of delver & goose when opponent casts liliana....saved me by sacrificing himself to fow : )

Hey guys did you checked the new spoiler ?!
Hooting Mandrills
I think it's you can try to cut the Nimble and put 3 guys in.
Pro:
He cant get shrinked on the field.(After the cast he is unaffected by gravehate)
He is good against TNN.
He is good vs CB.
He cant get Decayed.
Bolt save.
Trampel.
Con:
He hasn't shroud.
You cant cast 3 one one time like the Nimble.
He could shrink the goyf.
Hey, that was prettty intense game! I can feel his pain, this was the exact example of what tempo deck should do. Nice!
Grats on your result, of course. and rest asured I like your 2-Cliques list! Except maybe for the missing Needle, I really like it against Lili, MoR, Vial, Top. But then again Null Rod stops half of those cards at once, and has its applications in Storm mu.
Congrats, congrats!
On the UGinfect part:
Nice thoughts on TNN. If only it wasn't such an abomination of a card... I think I'll finally buy one.
I'm not sure yet. I need to think about it.
One idea, though: if we'll cut mongooses (with their amazing shroud), we may use one Rancor (with its amazing clock improvement), right? It's not exactly Best Idea Ever, but I like how it further laughs at (unequipped) TNN and is ghastly with any Delver/Goyf.
