    Re: [Primer/Deck] Pox

I play Mono B, as you know, and I find my cool cards would always be more playable in a blue deck. So I say to myself. "what is the point?" Granted a blue deck cannot run chalice, but if it did it would better at it than a black deck.
I see five options. Either: 1. Shape the deck around chalice. With no way to quickly dig for it this is not so good.
    2. Put chalice in a normal build, accepting that you risk blank your own spells.
    3. As 2 but chalice is in the SB to be brought in when you are on the play.
    4. Forget about chalice and build on the strengths of Mono black: An abundance of creature kill, land destruction, discard and pure card draw. This is the theme for traditional pox builds, except for the card draw.
    5. Build a 'best of' deck. This is not the same as that above.

Your question would be...? Or did you just wanted to share your thoughts? Chalice was printed to wreck U-based decks.

In general and traditionally U always had the better cards... Which are Legacy-legal. The really broken cards are B, but are unfortunately banned in Legacy.

The new card, Bloodsoaked hero, is quite right.
    B for a 2/1 with:
    "Bloodsoaked Hero can’t block.

Raid – 1B: Return Bloodsoaked Hero from your graveyard to the battlefield. Activate this ability only if you attacked with a creature this turn"

That card would have been awesome! My Night of Souls' Betrayal would end up extirpating him from my own deck though.
Three Lilianas to rule them all. One Pox to find them. Smallpox to bring them all and in the Sinkhole bind them!

It would be one step towards making a black weenie deck.

Note that the name in English actualy is Bloodsoaked Champion. The other was apparently a mistranslation from Chinese or something.

May I ask what happened in the D&T match?

Needle stopped my factories, Revoker stopped Liliana and Leyline in his opening hand would not let me give target.
I did not have much to do in the 3rd game.

i have been playing a Bg pox for a while and I feel that D&T is a pretty bad matchup; it looks great for us on the paper, but when I played the games out, it's just devastating.

    I don't think it badmatch.
    I believe it is a fair game. 50% - 50%.
Unfortunately in the 3rd game he came up with a better hand than mine.

I've fought D&T about 4-5 times at my local Legacy tournaments and haven't lost. I kept inevitably running into my main deck Engineered Plague (1-of, naming Humans) and Night of Souls' Betrayal.

D&T I do not believe have many creatures with toughness greater than 1. That and without a quick sword due to Sinkholing the snot out of them, they can't bring enough power to the field for me to care. D&T should auto-scoop to NoSB unless they pack Disenchant, which I don't think many do.

    Murderous Cut

OOH a new toy for Pox to work with. I love how fast this deck fills the yard for Tomby but if you're not using him, this is probably the new best removal since Innocent Blood!

I could see it as a one or two of, as you want to make sure you don't crowd the delve for this or tomby.

I don't run tomby anymore due to Ensnaring Bridge sideboard. [both of which own RUG Thresh for free almost] It's also good for dealing with both my Nether Spirits being slammed into my graveyard for some reason or another.

How do you like your Wrench Minds? Its a card that I've thought about a lot, since it dodges my own Chalice of the Voids, but I've never actually found room for them. My instinct would be to cut two of them for a 4th Living Wish and one Sylvan Library. I've never used Living wish in my list, but I might try it out. It seems like it could be really strong.
