You took cards that are arguably far better vs BUG in order to put in more situational and narrow cards? I would say that's incorrect.
Blue blasts, life gain from Glimmerposts, Crop rotation into Glacial chasm, S&T into anything t3 or t4 is GG usually.Originally Posted by Kirika
Infect can't beat Glacial chasm w/o misers wasteland or crop rotation into it. Needle wasteland and its GG. That's the plan at least.
Needle of inkmoth is ok and repeals do work here.
They only play 1 or 2 Mindcensors, just play around it as much as you can. If anything, bounce or needle vial and then if they want to hold up 3 mana every turn, you're okay w/ that.Originally Posted by Kirika

Good to hear someone made it to NJ this weekend. Sadly was working my brains out.
Burn is mostly bebs, glimmerpost spam, and show & tell into titan. The only real danger versus them is the turn 3 kill when you get 3 nonbasics, and blood moon/sulfuric vortex.
Unveiling a new beast build tonight at my weekly. If it does well I'll post it! In fact, I'll probably post it either way.
Treasure Cruise is all the rage with them hipsters I heard! ;-D
I did exactly that in game #1 against burn. Turn 4 hardcast primetime into glimerpost glimerpost, gain 8, reset back to 18.
The optimal play may have been get glimerpost and chasm. He untapped, double bolted primetime then PoP'ed me.
Game 2, I mulliganed to 6 and had to burn a BEB to counter Edilion #2. Then died to PoP. :-P
hopefully byes at the gp will let you avoid these kind of matches in the early rounds, but its probably gonna be like richmond if there anticipating as many players as they say. just bring the deck you know and run hot all day

Great to hear... Almost feels like X-Mas ;-)
Played a little tournament (21 people) on Sunday, using U/G build with 4 S&T, 3 Eldrazi, 1 Moment's Peace...
R1: BUG Delver, 2:0 (both games turn 1 Delver, Lilly turn 3/4, but no real clock)
R2: ANT, 1:1 (he fizzeles game 1, second attempt is Past in Flames answered by crop into bog, third one empty the warrens, crop again into chasmn. Titan wins. Not much time left, fast kill game two via ToA, time over before game three starts)
R3: Some kind of... I don't even know. Saw cards like Academy Rector, Kitchen Finks, Pernicous Deed, GSZ, Dryad Arbor, Garruk Relentless... Two really fast and relaxing wins, 2:0
R4: Merfolk, 0:2. Absolutly no chance... Game one S&T into Emrakul, opponent puts Phantasmal Image into play... Game two Moment's Peace buys me two turns, S&T into Titan, opponent puts Phantasmal into play again, going for two Wastelands... Later he attacks and puts two Mutavaults into play. Just too many Lords, Counter, Wastelands, plus 4 Phantasmal Images main.
R5: UWr Miracles, 11. Game one normal play, after several turns he can't stop me from casting Emrakul. Game two he resolves Blood Moon, slowing me down. Entreat for 5 Angels while I am at 19, no cards for life gain in hand. Game three Blood Moon again, extra turns, one turn missing for me, draw.
Merfolk and Burn seem to be very difficult, Miracles is my personal nemesis... Almost always draw :-/
They do not work like that when put in off S&T. You can't put in a Phantasmal image and copy Emrakul if those are the two cards that were put in.
They both enter at the same time and Phantasmal image is an "AS" effect, so the creature it chooses to copy has to already be in play before it. Since Emrakul or Titan enters at the same time, it cannot copy it.

I love when there's an empty field and they put in illusion with show & tell vs my fatty. I always wish the illusion well as it dies due to state based effects! Similarly I love when they put in planeswalkers on show & tell. Minus one local judge who continues to judge this incorrectly, which is just a nuisance.
Tonight's event went off amazingly. 6-2-0 in games. Won the event. Played Tinfins /w wastelands, BUG /w Jace, and Belcher.

The Boat was so incredibly amazing. I cast it at 1 plenty, 5 on turn 3 several times, a few times at 8. One time I exiled 20+ cards to prevent goyf and drs damage. The card is positively bonkers. I had ~40 cards exiled at the end of that game, after 3 boats, one of them for 20+ cards.
Also had to hydroblast my land and swan song it in response to a xantid swarm trigger to stabilize a game vs Belcher. Had I kept those at BeB's, would've done nothing.
My two game losses involved getting turn 1 Belched game one. And Me having 9 random draws to draw any mana source or expedition map to win the game while lilly ticked up and up and up. Alas no.
:Edit: I was originally poo-poo'ing Treasure Cruise as a super-cantrip only type of deck and having a great niche in non-graveyard using tempo decks. Didn't know how I would fit it into the deck. This is my original attempt to make it work, and dropped sdt for it. That hurts my soul so much, but the deck worked quite fluidly. Still tuning it, but the card was beyond busted. It definitely belongs, just how the rest of the deck reacts is the question.

i just realized that you didnt have top in your list. Im assuming that is what you cut for the boats.
top makes a lot of bad hand keep able were treasure cruise cant really do that. did you every have to mull a hand where if cruise was top it was fine.
Nice list rock! I don't think I'll be cutting top any time soon, but a few TCs will likely make their way in - the testing has been good.
More importantly, this card bodes well for our decks matchups because it will incentivize opponents to fill their grip and win shardless style by advantage. We like the late game, and can bypass a full grip of permission with a single cavern. Cavern is a must for us right now - the format is only getting faster and blue'er. A return to delver heavy format is coming..
I can't believe I didn't see that M14 change go through! I had the game anyhow, and really only did the 20+ cards to be cheeky. Exiling 7 would have neutered the goyf down to a 2/3 from a 5/6 anyhow.
Still very much testing top or not. Boat is an amazing card, and I'm only testing the tip of the Titanic iceberg of its potential.
ill give boat a try tonight, probably try 3 boat with 1 top for trinket mage
I for one am very skeptical about cutting any amount of tops from this deck. Let me know how it goes caw.

I chuckled when I read that Rock was playing treasure cruise. I guess not playing Top does actually speed up games, to prevent a little durdling and unnecessary draws. I might have to try out the fantastic voyage as well. :-)
Rock how do you hydroblast a land? I'm assuming that's due to wording..."Destroy Target permanent if it is red" vs. "destroys a red card in play". That's awesome!
@Sauce
I saw Intoplay and Rock_Lee running Baloths board so decided to try it out.
I'm finding unless you have that early show and tell backed up by a Blue Blast or Force of Will for Price its pretty hard to win. Hard casting Titan leaves you really open to Price since they can price you with the Titan trigger on the stack (your likely taking at least 6 from price 2 Cloudpost, Trpical Forest) and your almost forced to get Chasm unless you have force because they can Price for a ton in response to Glimmerpost triggers.
Do you counter Eidilon vs Burn? I been letting it through unless I have a second counter or a Crop Rotation because you don't have that many counters and Price of Progress is game unless you have a counter or Crop rotation for Chasm which sets you back 2 land.
I don't know any Death and Taxes players who run 1 Mindcensor. Most Death and Taxes players I talk to run 3 Mindcensors including my round 7 opponent.
I won one game against Infect due to Explosives + Chasm. Other two he just got me pretty quickly. Game one I didn't know what he was on so didn't have anything vs fast aggro had a top and fetch, trop two posts with a Titan, he killed me before I cast that Titan. He had the vines for my repeal in game 3. Maybe the Chain of Vapor build is better here I haven't tested it yet.
@MaCHOOga
I think you are forced to get Chasm off Prime Time unless you have the counter for the Price. They can Price you for a ton with your 2 glimmer posts triggers on the stack.
@Rock Lee
What if you don't get the show and tell Titan vs burn?
I tried your Wurmcoil build a little bit and I like it so far but I'm finding Solemn can have no basics to fetch since you don't run that many. Probably miss the Kalni Garden vs Liliana decks but I haven't run into any online yet.
I like your new Treasure Cruise build other then no Top. I think Top is pretty much uncutable since it improves your draws so much. Is Chain of Vapor really that good to run over Top? Also only 2 Show and Tell?
@Ponders
Leyline of Santity does beat burn but I hate mulliganing for Leylines I can't cast.
@TimHarding
I agree that Cavern is necessary. Too much Delver and blue.
