Sealed GPs historically have the largest turnouts.
“It's possible. But it involves... {checks archives} Nature's Revolt, Opalescence, two Unstable Shapeshifters (one of which started as a Doppelganger), a Tide, an animated land, a creature with Fading, a Silver Wyvern, some way to get a creature into play in response to stuff, some way to get a land into play in response to stuff (a different land from the animated land), and one heck of a Rube Goldberg timing diagram.

I think that's more like "only" in terms of they could've had a lot more. Orlando was the sixth biggest GP of all time and the fourth biggest limited GP of all time. (5th/3rd if we don't count Vegas)

I meant it more as in that it was small for a SCG GP, which seem to get quite a few more players than events hosted by other TOs.

Unless I'm missing something I've spotted info there are only 100 pre-registred so far. How does this make it largest GP ever? Probably I'm missing somthing so do point me to the actual numbers (+reference)

You're probably looking at VIP. They cap it at like 200.

(You meant 1000 and corrected yourself)

They're saying based on the rate of preregistrations. That is, if preregistrations continue at their current rate, they will end up with more registrations than Vegas got.

So GP NJ is going to be my first GP. Hopefully one of you veterans can help me with a question I have.

The list I'm going to run includes a Batterskull, but I don't have one. I see that the GP promo is a Batterskull. Is it possible to use the promo card in my deck from a rules and logistics perspective?

As far as I can remember You should be able to use it The promo is handed to You when the judges take your decklist.

Normally yes, you just get your reward at the player's meeting but given the size of the GP, it sounds like they are doing things differently. This is from their website:

No more long check-in lines! Show up for the player meeting on Saturday morning and receive a voucher for your Registration Rewards, redeemable at the Customer Service Station anytime thereafter.
I would recommend contacting SCG directly, possibly on their GP facebook page. They are pretty good at answering player's questions. Although from the sounds of it, you won't actually get your "rewards voucher" till the players meeting and won't get the reward till you go redeem it which might not be possible to get to before the first round starts.

I'd imagine SCG will be running a super tight ship but at GP Washington, we'd already started playing by the time promos went out. I'd definitely consider borrowing or buying one just in case.

I would be surprised if you could not find someone to lend you one. You could even swap them out after the first round or whatever when you get your promo.

Don't spoil the great experience of your first GP (and probably one of the greatest ever) by not being able to find a BS in time and having to concede your first match.

The seven cardinal sins of Legacy:
    1. Discuss the unbanning of Land Tax Earthcraft.
    2. Argue that banning Force of Will would make the format healthier.
    3. Play Brainstorm without Fetchlands.
    4. Stifle Standstill.
    5. Think that Gaea's Blessing will make you Solidarity-proof.
    6. Pass priority after playing Infernal Tutor.
    7. Fail to playtest against Nourishing Lich (coZ iT wIlL gEt U!).

Thanks for the advice guys. I think maybe I'll just buy one ahead of time to be safe, then maybe sell it afterwards. Don't really know anyone I can borrow from.

I know there was some talk of vintage going down at this a few weeks ago. Has anyone heard anything else about that?
